Stayed one night and parts of the camp were rather run down. We had a campervan on a powered site ($40.00 a night) what we found a little off putting when on holiday was being put amongst what we think were long term residents who were smoking and drinking and wandering around with beer bottles. We're no prudes but felt... More

We arrived late after our trip to Hobbiton, and had not pre-booked. We were met by a very friendly host, and given a variety of choices on where to park our car, depending on our needs. It was slightly out of season, so not very crowded. The fascilities were alright, the showers and toilets worn out, but fairly clean. The... More

Vanessa was very helpful throughout our stay. The place was clean, warm and had everything you could need. The changing rooms for the pool could do with being done up, but other than that they were brilliant.

The family cabins have been upgraded they are so much better than before. Have been coming here with my children for years. It was in desparate need of an upgrade. Makes the place a whole lot better. Only downside is that internet connect because they are down in a valley is not good.

We booked two nights at Opal Hot Springs & Holiday Park in a three bedroom family room. When we saw the price of $107 for 3 adults and a child we thought "Oh well, we just have to sleep there. No matter what its like it will be fine for 2 nights" On arrival the reception staff were friendly and... More

This is a place you would go to for the hot pools nothing else, as there is not much else for you. the facilities have not been upgraded for a long time. the showers are near the kitchen and are completely separate to the toilet block so everyone near the kitchen can hear your shower not great at certain times.... I came down with my family last weekend and we absolutely enjoyed it. We had six adults and our own kitchen and bathroom facilities, just like a home away from home. Warm and cosy to beat the spring breeze from winter. Hot pools to suit every fussy person in our family. No reception which meant we had to talk to... More

Six adults meant five beds and at least one of those a queen. Rare to find accommodation that can house this many adults in one place at a reasonable cost. OHS&HP does. Internet available if you wanted to pay extra but it was a marvelous opportunity to enjoy uninterrupted time with family and friends. OHS&HP offers. It was the little... More

We used the private pool which was worth it. A bit old looking area Stated 40celsius but felt cooler. It is our first hot pool in New Zealand trip so I hope we find better places. Recommend but expected more Easy to find and friendly staff The other pool was chlorine pool and a bit cooler
