This place is well known and rightly so. It really is a retreat in the mountains, its serene, quiet, comfortable, luxurious and you can really escape here. The decor has depth and this place has been very thoughtfully created, creating a very cool ambience and vibe. There are so many things to do, all in your own time, whether is nothing but lounge on your terrace or by the pool or whether you want to play games from tennis, table tennis to chess and giant draughts, just good old leisure pastimes in an amazing mountainous setting. Its a film set, dramatic landscape and all in total comfort. We had wonderful dinners on the terrace overlooking a ravine and we had a beautifully set Moroccan dinner in a courtyard with a pool filled with candles and flowers. Staff were very attentive, we felt looked after and were treated so well. Although we booked a suite for 3, we asked if they had a separate room for my son, they obliged immediately. Nothing was too much or a problem. Highly recommend staying here, took about 90mins from Marrakech.…
Kasbah Tamadot We enjoyed 3 nights at Kasbah Tamadot. Firstly, the Atlas Mountains - WOW!! Words cannot express its beauty. And staying here gave us the privilege of experiencing the beauty of nature evermore. First impressions. The arrival at the beautiful Kasbah (ancient castle & fortress) is exciting, with the warm welcome as the enormous gates are opened for us to enter. Throughout the Kasbah, you are invited to explore its enormous property and beautiful gardens. Its ambience is relaxing, and with one’ could see the amazing work Richard Branson’s team did to renew and rejuvenate the glory days of the Medieval castle. Don’t miss a session learning how to make Berber tea with a local elder, under the canopy of the orange tree next to the trickling water fountain in the gorgeous Riad courtyard. Please go check out the camel, mules and horses at the farm (back of property) and the peacock and ducklings in the pond with a mini waterfall. The grass tennis courts complete with cold beer in the mini-fridge are more sensational surrounded by the gorgeous mountains. The infinity pool is a real gem, with the best sunset mountain views of the property. It’s a shame our outdoor movie-night was cancelled due to weather. Check this! You’ll love discovering the little shops outside the large side gate - they sell traditional crafts and handiwork of Atlas mountain Berber artisans. We bought gorgeous handmade souvenirs and antiques for our home, which they will ship back for us. Plus, the co-op shop and proceeds support local artisans. You won’t regret your visit! The hotel team gave us a memorable experience for my wife’s birthday, with a gorgeous bath with candles and rose petals. A wonderful experience after our visit to the Spa. Our Spa experience was actually a highlight. I think the spa experience is one of the best that we’ve experienced so far (the spa at La Mamounia is also a excellent and different again). Here, as you enter the little hut, the welcome by the Spa Manager is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and we found the massage excellent and firm. The beautiful indoor pool, with its relaxing ambience, is recommended before and after your treatment. They serve ginger & verbena mint tea with condiments like almonds and apricots. The restaurant offers reasonably good choices and drinks but we have found tastier food elsewhere. The rooftop view of the mountains are the highlight and make great photo ops. Insta worthy! The Kasbah Tamadot staff are friendly and I think do try their best. A few tips and training, and their service could become exceptional. We will definitely recommend Kasbah Tamadot to our Aussie friends. The hiking and visit to a local Berber home and restaurant are definitely cultural highlights. Well done team and Eid Mubarak!…
A phenomenal property with stunning views and the perfect way to end our 18-night trip to Morocco, with 3 full days of rest and relaxation. Our Berber tent was excellent and our massages at the spa some of the best we’ve ever had. The pool was the perfect temperature. Then why only a 4 star review? The service, particularly at the pool, was “hit and miss”. We expected much better service at a property of this caliber: we expected it to be the best service during our time in Morocco and it was not. Our first night, the service in the main dining room was not good and we were not impressed with the menu. Thus, the second night we ordered room service (4 of us) and they brought our desserts that included ice cream with the main courses, so we were scrambling to find room in our mini-fridges to put our desserts so they would not melt while we ate our main courses: again, we expected better. The third night we went to the Berber buffet feast and it was excellent! The fourth night we went back to the main dining room and the menu was much better, the food very good, and service okay (not great). Overall, though, we are very glad we ended at this property and would go back.…
I have wanted to visit this property ever since we moved to Morocco in September 2020. It was truly a bucket-list stay for us. We finally booked it and I have to say, I was pretty underwhelmed. First, the PROS: The service at check-in was fabulous. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly and a nice tour of the property. The grounds are AMAZING. It's all beautifully manicured and the property itself might draw me back someday, maybe. The CONS: The property is (literally) right off the main road you drive in on. The photos made it seem more remote, so this surprised me. Secondly, when we arrived at our room, non of the outside patio furniture was set up and after finding ourselves wanting to sit outside in the evening to enjoy the beautiful weather (and views!) we had to dig out the patio cushions and get it all set up ourselves. I'm sure if we had called and requested help they would have been happy to assist, but it was faster to just do it ourselves. I'm really not usually this picky, but at these prices (and reputation) it surprised me to arrive without it already being done. Next, we decided to visit the spa and treat ourselves to a relaxing massage. The spa facility is lovely, and they started by giving us a short survey about the type of massage we wanted (complete with a choice of music, which was a thoughtful touch). We both requested a relaxation massage, and when asked if we wanted deep tissue work we both said no. After the session, they brought us our bill and we had both been charged for a "deep tissue Moroccan massage" which was considerably more expensive. I tried to explain that was not what we requested (or received) but they insisted it was correct. I spoke with the manager at checkout and they fixed it immediately, which we appreciated, but it did appear as though they were intentionally charging us for the more expensive service, then waiting to see if we refuted the charge. Not unlike other instances I've experienced here in Morocco (being American always comes with a tourist tax, here) but again, at this price and level of service, I expected better and didn't like feeling as though we were being taken advantage of. Dinner that night in the restaurant was underwhelming and the portions were small. I've had far better meals in tiny and inexpensive riads here. Overall, at this price point, I would not recommend as there are far better resorts and hotels here that offer much better food and service. The Sultana hotels, for instance, are at a similar price point and offer a far more luxurious experience if that's what you're after.…
We spent two nights at Kasbah Tamadot during our honeymoon. The property is stunning, and the staff are kind, welcoming and professional. Special thanks to Tarik for doing a wonderful job serving us a beautiful and delicious private dinner!
We stayed for just 3 nights but it felt like a complete release from all the problems in the world. The staff are unbelievably friendly, the food was great and the room and amenities were super luxurious.
Superb location in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Well appointed rooms (try tent with tub!). Spotless. Housekeeping flawless. Food excellent. Indoor and outdoor pools large and inviting. Tranquil atmosphere. Wi-Fi great. Make sure you visit the bread kitchens, the animals and the Foundation shop. Extra special is the service. Nothing is a problem. Thanks Jamal for everything. Whole team superb. Special mention too to the man who cares so well for the animals and helped these donkey whisperers feed them!
Kasbah Tamadot is a beautiful hotel with spacious grounds and exquisite rooms..book room 16 it has fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains. The facilities are excellent with an outdoor and indoor pool and a great games room/ bar( don’t miss out on en evening in there). But it’s greatest asset is its staff. Everyone was helpful and welcoming, I am not sure I have had better service anywhere in the world- big shout out to Rabii who delivered fantastic service with a beaming smile throughout our stay. Do the Atlas mountain trek, the scenery is stunning , the guide knowledgable and the lunch was great. All in all a wonderful few days, we will be back!
This Kasbah was bought by Richard Branson and renovated. It is in the High Atlas Mountains just up the road past Asni. We stayed three nights. Great restaurant for dinner and a different restaurant by the pool for lunch. Food is a mix of Moroccan and European cuisines. Rooms in the main building and permanent "tents." Many places to sit quietly and read a book or just relax. Small collection of animals in the back - feed the camel! Has a hammam. Very helpful staff everywhere. Supports a local foundation to educate and employ nearby residents. We went hiking two days here into the mountains and toured several Berber villages and had tea and lunch with local Berber families. This place was one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco.
But expensive; more so than would be reasonable for the environment. I ate at the dining room, where I received very good food accompanied by attentive service. It is a retreat in the middle of nowhere, but it's a gloriously scenic "nowehere".
