We (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed here to break the journey to S France. We stayed in a series of rooms above the front door - double bedroom, large walk in wardrobe doubled as a room for children and an enormous bathroom. The rooms are elegant, clean and tidy. The children happily chased each other round the garden for... More

We had stayed in the 'old' Auberge many times long ago, and spent some time searching for it, not realising it had moved to much grander surroundings. We must have visited on the staff's night off, as the 'B Team' was clearly in control, on a dull Sunday night in low season (this was back in March). The room was... More

Dear Mike S, Probably I received you in the Auberge, the Old auberge by the past. I am very bored, annoyed by reading your message and am really sorry that you did not appreciate our new establishment. If I understood well the service did not suit to you and I kindly request you to excuse us for it. We try... More

It is some time since we last dined at Restaurant Natali. It is a 90 minute drive from our French home. On the whole, the standard of food including presentation and, not least, taste was as good as ever. One exception, however, was the veal chop which was ordered as 'à point' and was actually raw in the centre. When... More

Dear Mr Prolland, Really we were very annoyed by reading your message. We are so confused. But you're right the attitude of the people who don't do nothing for you is not our politic. If a cooking does not suit we make what is needed to repair this inconvenience and we prepare a new dish if it's necessary, it's not... More

Extraordinarily amiable service, excellent cuisine, great chef. Good location, particularly for a visit to Colombey-les-Deux-Églises dedîcated to knowing more about General de Gaulle. Property tastefully furbished.

A return trip after two years and once again was not disappointed. The food was excellent, as well as the service. I had the menu du jour which was excellent and excellent value my in-laws chose the other menu which was also very good. Highly recommended

Rooms were old fashioned but impeccably kept up. Quiet and comfortable. The staff helped with cycles and baggage and were attentive throughout. Meal delicious - and this is a tough group. Short but okay wine list, which is natural for diverse range of clients. This town represents a pilgrimage to Charles DeGaulle, but these people are not necessarily big spenders.

Hostellerie La Montagne is a very relaxing and unusual place to stay. We have stayed and dined here many times over the last few years and The food in the restaurant has always been excellent and the service is professional but not over fussy. The whole ambiance of the hotel/restaurant is easy going and informal, the rooms are unusual and... More

We were returning by car from Monaco to UK and Colombey-les-deux-Eglises is ideally placed en-route for a night stop. We had booked their so called Deluxe King Suite (room number 7) and I was surprised to read the previous reviewers remarks that room number 7 had cost Euros 82, as we paid Euros 190. The suite can best be described... More

Having just stayed at the wonderful 5* Trianon Palace in Versailles, we were recommended this humble looking hostelries by a friend. The food truly surpassed the Gordon Ramsey restaurant at The Trianon by a mile, service was amazing and our room a treat at €82, a must stay venue. Book room 7, amazing.

The family (Natali) that runs this hotel and restaurant surely know their business, and how to take good care of clients. The Restaurant Natali is in the hotel. Though Colombey is a "destination" because it was the home village of Charles DeGaulle, it still seems quiet and peaceful, and our stay was quiet and peaceful Our room was quite large... More

“I only have experience of the suite numbered 7 which I would not particularly recommend, but some other rooms seem to have better reviews.”

“There is a large, creaky suite on the 1st floor of the old building: if you like 19th century fixtures, including a shower in a cupboard, this is it. If you prefer a little more comfort ask for the rooms in the 'annexe', which are modern. In the lower part of the old building, there are two more suites which are quite cosy but they do not look like they have been refurbished ever since the days of General De Gaulle.”
