We had the pleasure of staying at Salines Garden 21-22 November, 2007. The stay was short because we already had a villa lined up for the rest of our stay, and needed a few nights beforehand... We had arrived early to enjoy Thanksgiving on St....More
This is a late posting, having stayed here in mid-August, but as the winter sets in, I feel compelled to write about our wonderful stay at Salines. This place is a gem. After several days on Anguilla, where we overpaid at Malliouhana, our stay with...More
Owner Jean-Philippe is the coolest dude on St. Barth's. He's legendary on the island...and for good reason. He truly cares about his guests and shows it in everything he does. My wife and I spent our 17th Wedding Anniversary on St. Barth's. From the moment...More

As Joseph mentioned, the cottages with kitchenettes have refrigerators. I would expect that you can get a taxi to and from Salines Gardens, but aside from walking to Salines beach and about 3 or 4 restaurants closeby you would need a taxi to go everywhere. I would think that when you add the taxi costs you would be better off staying in St Jean where there are more things close by, and you are closer to Gustavia as well. I do not think that I would stay there if I did not have a car.
