The best part of staying in there new villa isnt just the spectacular view, nor the infinity pool, daily maid service, turndown service, room service, furnishings and so on but our butler. His name is Pascal and he is phenomenal. Ive had butlers before, in the States, Europe and India but the attitude, personality, judgement, being unobtrusive yet there in a moments notice will elevate your vacation at the Christopher to a new level. There was nothing too much nor too little for him to handle. His recommendations for everything; restaurants, shopping, entertainment, chartering, beachs were excellent. When Pascal was off Melody filled in who is lovely as well. Even while off Pascal responded. The hotel's restaurant overlooking the water and the pool is just beautiful. Breakfast is wonderful and Marion and Clair greet and serve you with a smile each morning. I had special dietary needs and they made sure everything was perfect. At dinner the wine sommelier Leo who worked at Tallivent in Paris is most knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. The spa is fantastic, Marie at the front desk is most accomodating and Pauline is one of the best masseuses Ive had. Elody who met us at the airport and helped us with our transfers and car was a pleasure. Id say the staff was terrific, I just can't name them all. After writing this review all I can think of is returning. …
very good, very good, i wold reccomend this hotel for shure, very good location and sun set nice and not too big like other hotels in carib, we will come back for shure in one of the next years and we hope they have rooms for us
Very good note, no beach but very good swimming pool. Very good service, attention and professionalism . I have been in the hotel many times, time to change !! new decoration, more action. But still very very good hotel.
Hotel was great! Beautiful view! Will be back. Restaurant manager was very accommodating with my daughter who is vegan. They went to the store and got her special food. I would suggest them having more vegan options already on the menu it is almost 2023!
We absolutely love everything about this hotel. The location, just the right size (not too big or too small), the setting, the pool and lounge area, exquisite design, service, staff, spa - you name it. The fact that it is on the water but doesn't have a beach is actually a plus. You get the soothing sound of the surf at breakfast and around the pool and nothing beats a massage at the spa with the a view of the sea and sound of the surf in the background. We've visited the island almost every year for thirty years and have stayed at other luxury hotels with beaches, and I can tell you that there is no hotel beach that even come close to the beautiful beaches that are a short drive from the Christopher - Saline and Gouvenor in particular. We just returned home and I'm already looking forward to our stay next year.…
My husband and I had a very nice experience at Christopher. I'm glad we chose it and we would consider going back. We did have a disappointing experience while there, so I'll separate my review into pros and cons. Pros: - Beautiful setting!! - We liked that it was a little more removed, but you definitely need a rental car and the roads are hilly and tight - All staff with whom we interacted were wonderful! Vivi did a great job as concierge and was incredibly responsive. The responsiveness was great regarding my pre-arrival questions - The rooms were a decent size, although we weren't thrilled with the bathroom set up. It was slippery and dark in general - Breakfast was excellent - They make going to the beach easy, as the valet had towels and beach chairs ready for us each time we went. The valets were on top of things! - Pricing seemed better than many of the other high-end resorts - The sunsets are amazing and I heard it's the best spot on the island Cons: - We didn't mind not having a beach, but it could be a problem for some - The food and cocktails are incredibly expensive, but that's true all over the island - I was surprised that they charged a 10% admin booking fee if they booked something for you. They were upfront about it, but I've never had a charge like that for concierge services that I would think is one of the benefits of staying at a resort of this caliber Biggest issue we had: We were only there for 4 nights and saved our last full day as our pool day. We figured we would just want to relax and stay at the resort. We had a boat excursion in the morning and then planned on going to the pool after lunch through sunset. We received a letter when we returned late afternoon the day before our last full day that there was to be a wedding the next day and the pool and restaurant would be closed from 1:30 pm through the entire evening. There had been no mention of that when we checked in, so I was very surprised. We were incredibly disappointed, but obviously there was nothing we could do at that point. I checked with the concierge to see if they would be able to give a small credit given our inability to use the majority of the hotel facilities for most of the day. When spending almost $1000 a night for a room, not having use of the facilities is a problem. She checked with the manager who said they had emailed us about the wedding 2 months prior and they wouldn't be able to do anything to accommodate us for the inconvenience. I must have missed that email, as we were not aware. We have stayed at many high-end resorts and this was incredibly surprising. Any time we've been inconvenienced and not had a perfect stay, something is always offered. Even if it's just cocktails if we have to wait a few minutes a check-in. I have never had to ask, as it has always been automatic. The music from the wedding was quite loud until midnight. Not a major issue for us, but it could have been for others. Certainly not what we expected and why we chose a resort off the beaten path. Even if they offered a service at the spa or something like that just to acknowledge the inconvenience would have been nice and not cost them much at all. To respond that they sent an email so we should have adapted our plans is just not cool and is in poor taste. We heard that there were only a couple of rooms who were not there for the wedding. If the resort is not going to block all the rooms for a wedding of that size (we were told 100 people), showing a token of appreciation for the few that were impacted should not have even been a thought. As the title says, it could have been great...…
Traveled as a couple for four nights. Booked an Ocean Terrace room. Room: Steps from the pool. Very clean and well maintained. A more comfortable easy chair would be appreciated. The towel rack in front of the full-length mirror is a bit awkward. Be very careful in the rain forest shower: it can be quite slippery – the floor of the shower is slick with nothing in the shower to grab onto. Water pressure great with plenty of hot water. Bed was very comfortable. Spa: I dare you to find a more dramatic treatment room for a massage. Private room with a small terrace overlooking the rocks and the waves. Paulina and Marine are outstanding masseuses. Pool: Christopher touts their pool as the largest in St Barts which may be true but it’s not THAT large. The loungers are a bit low to the ground. There is not, and there should be at least one entry into the pool with a rail/railing. The pool is aesthetically pleasing but not real “user friendly” to get in and out unless you are young and lithe. Concierge: Anais was extremely helpful and courteous. One of the best. Anais seemed to be everywhere, all the time so if we ever needed anything, she was there. The bill: If you need converters for your phone, computer, there is a 10 Euro deposit charged per converter. If you have the concierge arrange for a taxi, a 4- or 5-Euro charge per request will appear on your statement. Both were surprise charges. …
My wife and I had a stay here for about a week early last month. We loved every bit of it! The food and service was impeccable. The hotel amenities and staff were all lovely. Specifically, Pascal a Guest Relation Manager was incredibly helpful during our stay. Will definitely be back!
Directly when landed in St. Barth, we were meet by a very flexible and amazing staff, Pickup in the airport, Hotel is situated on the water, with a fantastic pool area and restaurant area, staff very serviceminded. Rooms are very clean, good menucard, and a great winelist. All in All a great stay with an amazing Conciergerie service, always ready to help and suggest great venues.
The entire staff was super friendly, efficient and made our stay so relaxed. We’ve been coming to the island for over 10 years - twice a year - and have stayed in the big hotels in Gustavia and St Jean. The Christopher may not have a beach, but has the friendliest and most professional staff. These qualities make us loyal.
