The apartment was Beautiful and very Clean and is positioned in a very nice and quiet part of Scicli. Francesca was the perfect host and helped us with just Everything we needed. Scicli...

Back for the fourth time and again it seemed as if we never left. Francesca kindly met us at the railway station, and as I had a swollen knee it was a big help. As I was getting out of the car a neighbour noticed my problem and came round to Piedagrotta with some home made massage oil, which really...

Dear Cath and John, the real perception that comes out of your words is that you've become almost Sciclitani and definitely part of our family. It has been a real pleasure meeting you at the train station and driving you home as well as it has been sad knowing that you Cath had a problem with your knee. The "olio...

This was our third stay in C'era Una Volta and a bit like 'coming home'. An authentic old stone Sicilian house that has been very tastefully restored, with the benefit of a lovely roof terrace to while away the hours. We decided not to hire a car for this recent trip and with a little planning, still managed to go...

What a place! a real treasure. Our host Francesca was so helpful and kind. The house was wonderful, authentic and the roof top terrace was brilliant to watch the sun go down. Well appointed home from home. Well set up, very clean and very handy for the town which was a short walk away. Good selection of cafes and shops...

Dear Malcom and Jackeline, from the very beginning I understood I was in the presence of a special couple. You've been simply fantastic. The way you got in touch with the locals, the way you experienced the local culture is who I feel the real travellers to southeastern Sicily should do. We hope to welcome you back whenever you wish...

Thanks a lot, Caroline. I'm happy you appreciated our simple but warm welcome and you liked "your house" in Scicli. What we did for you, and when possible for other guests, was to make you feel like visiting a Sicilian family in a Sicilian town and live like a local. As you mention, we love suggesting local seasonal produces and...

We stayed at C'era Una Volta for the last five days of our holiday in Sicily. After seeing all the sights,we needed a rest! C'era Una Volta gave us that. It was in a great location, just on the outskirts of the town, but no more than 5/6 minutes to the centre, where there are lots of cafes and restaurants....

You've been here while Palomar was filming another episode of Inspector Montalbano, that we will see on tv next year.... you are right. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
C'era una volta (once upon a time).....is the "motto" we chose for the two self-catering accommodations, Via Pedigrotta and Via Tivoli. Newly restored and tastefully furnished they are meant for couples or families who wish to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay surrounded by nature and history while discovering Southeastern Sicily. The charming furniture reminding the past together with the most modern comforts are thought to grant a pleasant and quiet stay to families with children and couples. "Make yourself at home" is our motto. Dining-living area furnished with wooden table and chairs and a comfortable sofa, a fully-equipped kitchen corner, a comfortable double bedroom and one bathroom with shower ( Via Piedigrotta has got two bathrooms). Both have a suggestive roof-terrace from which you can enjoy the view of the surrounding nature and architectures and spend your time in total relax. Around the houses only narrow pedestrian safe alleys. Via Piedigrotta can host up to 4 adults while Via Tivoli is meant for 2/3. They are provided with air conditioning, heating, washing-machine, TV, satellite and decoder, hi-fi radio, fridge and electric cooker. ... more   less
