Le Vasa is a beautiful place to stay in Samoa. Our fale was situated in lovely tropical gardens right on the water. Our balcony was great to sit & watch the sunsets or fish swim by. We stayed for 12 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Wet & Wild Tour was fantastic. Charlie & Larry were great tour guides. The food was ok. Breakfast was the pick. Service was laid back & the staff were friendly. I recommend hiring a car before you come. We got one in the end but it was a bit tricky. The bus to Apia was fun but took 90 minutes so a car is better if you want to see the sights.

We were first time visitors to Samoa so had no idea really about the logistics of getting from the Airport to our accommodation on Savaii. Organised a studio room at Le Vasa for the day of our arrival and for two nights before we departed Samoa. Le Vasa was close to the airport and they offer a shuttle service. On coming out of the airport we were met by resort staff who said their normal van was doing a tour so we were transported in a super dodgy van with dings and holes in it and door handles missing. On arrival the studio room was gloomy and tired. There were no toiletries and no hot water. When I asked at reception I was told the batteries must need changing for the hot water. The studio room shared a wall with what must have been a staff room or storage area because you could hear staff coming and going from there until late and again early in the morning. The breakfast was very average. The Samoan porridge was like an oat drink and the rest of the offering was fairly minimal. At least the Latte was included. Shuttle to the ferry the next day was like a 70’s police chase movie. Absolutely flat out with kids walking to school and people everywhere. Madness. When we got to Savaii Lagoon Resort it was so beautiful we booked an extra two nights and advised Le Vasa we would not be back. They kindly re-let the room and charged us nothing. Don’t make this your only Samoan experience. The beach was average as and the place needs some serious love.

A small simple resort, not far from the airport. Airport pick up was included. My fale was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view. The resort surroundings were very neat and most adequate. The lagoon was a nice spot to cool off at high tide. The meals were all quite good. I want to say an extra special mention to Leilani, her service was absolutely excellent (all the staff were good) Leilani was friendly and very well spoken, nothing was too much trouble. A really lovely place to stay. A nice restaurant and bar.

I am writing this review while we wait for breakfast. And wait, and wait and wait. The location is lovely, maybe 15 mins from the airport. The rooms are nicely decked out, and the grounds are very well done. All and all, should be a perfect place to relax. The service is friendly, and orders are taken, but then it all stops. Yesterday we waited an hour for bacon and eggs, and out cam pancakes. Maybe it was lost in translation over the noise of the terrible and loud music. Today I am waiting for a fruit juice: have had time to read all the news and then write this article. We had seen other reviews that food and drinks are slow, but if anything has happened to fix this, it must have been even worse before. Go somewhere else - the whole island is beautiful

We spent 4 nights here recently. I suspect the place has suffered somewhat due to the Covid pandemic closures so it will take time to come back up to speed. We had a beachfront bungalow which was great. Small kitchenette and sink with filtered water was good to have. Things were a little light on the housekeeping side (we had to effectively flag them down to get some towels changed etc) but not a big deal given length of stay. A good addition would be a guest laundry. Good to have the kayaks but the paddle boards have seen far better days. Great pool etc. All up a pretty laid back resort with a chilled out vibe. The food at the restaurant ranged from pretty good to great however the wait times were very long. You really need to arrive at 6pm and get your order in pronto but even that’s no guarantee… To be fair we did get one night where the wait was only about 30 mins, but another two were in the 1-1.5 hr range and one night was 2 1/4 hrs .. The restaurant was never that busy (by NZ standards) and happy to cut some slack for island time and probable short staffing however, and the staff were really apologetic, but there really needs to be changes here. ? Shift to a pre-order system and time slots that can be met … or something! Right on the bus route (we took a day trip into Apia… 5 Tala each - takes about 90 mins).

Just back from an amazing 7 days. Highly recommend this authentic, breathtaking resort. Loved everything about it. Staff were so welcoming and friendly, everyone really went out of their way to make the holiday memorable. Thank you to all the amazing staff especially Leilani and Larry. We had an amazing tour and our tour guides were incredible. Food was delicious and the restaurant was relaxing. Accomodation was spacious, clean and we loved the fale. Fish jumping out of the water and kayaking. The owners were hands on, visible and enquired about how your visit was progressing. Samoa is a jewel of a place to visit. Our holiday finished with an amazing activity where we got to see, do and hear about island cooking and we’re told tales. Thank you La Vasa Resort for the memories! We definitely will be back. We had an amazing stay at Le Vasa (April 2023). The views are amazing and the fales are well equipped and clean. The staff were so accommodating and so lovely. We had accidentally forgotten to book an extra night and the staff were more than happy to help us out and provide us with an extra night. The effects of Covid on the tourism industry here are still prevalent but it’s definitely starting to pick back up. Would definitely recommend staying here!
