This small, cozy B&B at the very heart of Apricale, a stone's throw from the main square, is excellent by the hamlet's standards and offers guests finely though unpretentiously renovated spaces and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Be ready to go up and down steep stairs in some rooms, but it will be worthwhile. There's a cozy grotto-like double room with...

We stayed for one night during a hiking weekend at the end of March. The building has been beautifully renovated and Paolo the owner is extremely hospitable and welcoming. As with most of the buildings in this quaint hilltop village, it is impossible to bring a car to the door so beware of taking too much luggage. We were staying...

Poalo and Barbara have the most beautiful B&B in the heart of the medieval village of Apricale. A magical place, Da Marta is in a building from the 12th century offering a series of small but very comfortable grotto-like rooms with a tasteful mix of modern and historical decor. Everything is spotlessly clean, the beds are firm and the welcome...

We came to Apricale for the second time. First time was a spontaneous visit 3 years ago and we found B&B da Marta by chance. This spring we returned with our granny and stayed for four nights. Monaco and Nizza are just about an hour away by car and it's really nice to stroll around in the alleys of Apricale...

Some of the reviews noted that it would be helpful to speak Italian-which was probably why we had a bad experience here. We just completed a six week trip and had nothing but wonderful accommodation experiences. In fact this is the first truly negative hotel experience I have had in 40 years of travel. We stayed in the Grotto room...

I'm so glad we stayed with Paolo and his family. I'm also glad we decided to stay in Apricale, it made a lovely change of pace and scenery from the rest of our holiday through France and Italy. The narrow, winding, cobbled lanes of the old village combined with the views from the towering village centre made a nice difference...

Thanks to Paolo and Barabara for a lovely long weekend in Liguria. The house is amazing. It is a cross between staying in a castle and a grotto! The house is laid out over six or seven levels (lo ho domenticato!) Our room had the shower carved out of the walls! The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable....

Ottimo B&B nei vicoli di Apricale. Borgo medievale di rara bellezza dove il tempo si è fermato. L'ideale per una vacanza in coppia, grazie a Barbara e Paolo per il magnifico soggiorno.

Sometimes you come across a spot which is so special that you hesitate to share it with others in fear of causing a deluge of tourists, thereby spoiling the place. However, the hosts of this Bed & Breakfast assured us that, in the past 50 years, nothing has changed in this particular region in Italy, and both hosts and area...
