A great experience. The hosts are super welcome, friendly and they give you a lot of tips od what you can do around the area, it is unbelievable beautiful and you can tour around. The accomodation is cosy and romantic. I recomend to try "torta de la mama" for breakfast, Apricale looks like a magical place and the landscape is unique. The food Is great, they have restaurants with local food.

This small, cozy B&B at the very heart of Apricale, a stone's throw from the main square, is excellent by the hamlet's standards and offers guests finely though unpretentiously renovated spaces and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Be ready to go up and down steep stairs in some rooms, but it will be worthwhile. There's a cozy grotto-like double room with a view over the green hillside, while 2 larger rooms are ideal for families. Candles help create a magical atmosphere at night, while all the rooms are kept fresh by the thick exposed stone walls and vault roofs. Tv set is in all rooms, Italian speaking channels only. Wi-fi is available in the breakfast room, not in the rooms on the lower level. No A/C. Hair dryer is provided in every room, while in the "grotto room" clothes can only be hanged on the walls because there's no wardrobe. Breakfast is Italian style with cappuccino and homemade cakes (baked daily by the landlady), but also features eggs, cold cuts and cheese. The owners are kind and reserved, always ready to help and give plenty of info. I've been here twice, and should there be a third time, I'd come back to Marta's once again!

We stayed for one night during a hiking weekend at the end of March. The building has been beautifully renovated and Paolo the owner is extremely hospitable and welcoming. As with most of the buildings in this quaint hilltop village, it is impossible to bring a car to the door so beware of taking too much luggage. We were staying in one of the double rooms which are below the entrance level down some very steep stairs. This b&b is definitely for the able bodied. Although the rooms are below the house, they do still have a window to a fabulous view as the house is perched on the side of a hill. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The shower was not particularly hot or strong but otherwise the bathroom modern and spacious. The breakfast consisted of a piece of lemon cake and packaged toast which certainly didn't satisfy my husband but we were eating so well generally in the region it was unimportant. Having lived in an Italian speaking country for the past 10 years, we were able to communicate with the extremely friendly Paolo who was full of suggestions for activities and restaurants etc in the area.

Poalo and Barbara have the most beautiful B&B in the heart of the medieval village of Apricale. A magical place, Da Marta is in a building from the 12th century offering a series of small but very comfortable grotto-like rooms with a tasteful mix of modern and historical decor. Everything is spotlessly clean, the beds are firm and the welcome is warm. Parking is a bit of a walk from the hotel and the cobblestone streets make wheeling a suitcase a challenge but Paolo offered to help us with our luggage though we managed without too much trouble. There are some steep stairs in the B&B and older visitors might find them a little difficult to negotiate but the rewards of sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, the crisp white sheets and the delicious homemade breakfast are more than recompense for the short climb to the bedrooms. Paolo and Barbara were full of excellent suggestions and directions for delightful day trips in the surrounding region. We are already planning our return....... Merci beaucoup pour l'accueil très chaleureux Poalo et Barbara!

We came to Apricale for the second time. First time was a spontaneous visit 3 years ago and we found B&B da Marta by chance. This spring we returned with our granny and stayed for four nights. Monaco and Nizza are just about an hour away by car and it's really nice to stroll around in the alleys of Apricale itself. The rooms are carefully renovated in "old style" and fit perfectly into the ambience of the old town with its narrow and winding alleys. You should be good on your feet though, since no cars can drive in the town and the stairs to the rooms are quite steep. The breakfast is simple and sweet (we had cake every day) but you get as much tea or coffee as you can drink. Paolo and Barbara are very nice. They just don't speak English, so it is helpful if you can speak a bit Italian or French. Thanks for a wonderfull stay, Iris and Karin
