My wife and I spent 11 days at the Chaweng Buri Resort in Koh Samui in March 2020. Friends discouraged us from traveling because of the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in the world, but we still decided and did not regret it. The hotel was only a third full, which made it even quieter and more comfortable. The rustle of leaves, birdsong, squirrels running through the trees ... All this created the feeling that you are in a tropical forest. We lived in villa 609, about a hundred meters from the beach. The first three days it was windy and wavy, and then the sea calmed down and did not stop swimming. However, all this is described in previous reviews – no need to repeat. In short - we liked everything: villa, restaurant, pool, beach, territory and location. I note the staff - diligent and friendly. But we especially want to thank the general manager of the hotel named Uma. In the days when we all experienced stress due to the possible cancellation of return flights, Uma helped us very much spending a lot of her time solving our problems, for which we are very grateful. We also want to thank the girl at the reception named Mai for attention and help. We highly recommend Chaweng Buri Resort to all those who appreciate comfort and good service at an affordable price.

Stayed here for six nights in January. Check in was smooth, and we got our room at once, even if we arrived 10.30 am. Our only big problem here, was that the sea was pretty rough during our stay. That made swimming in the sea almost impossible. From what I heard this is quite common this time of year on Chaweng/Lamai. Anyway, can hardly blame it on the resort. They have a very nice swimming pool. The bungalow was big and nicely decorated. We had one near the main road, but wasn't bothered by noise. Huge bed with comfortable pillows (they are usually very firm in this part of the world). Good a/c, nice bathroom and the wi-fi was fast. The cleaning service was the best. Breakfast was average, but did the job. Not sure if there is a restaurant was open, or if they serve food at all. Beach bar was open, but don't expect any fancy cocktails. There are lots of restaurants nearby.

We rang/emailed the resort in advance to upgrade so we were in a beachfront villa. On arrival we were told we had been given an upgrade!!! Villa had a smell, and after spraying with perfume smell returned. The Villa was located in the garden and not on the beachfront as requested and willing to pay for upgrade. I became very sick on first night and had to go to hospital at 3am. I was admitted for several days. My husband could stay with me at the hospital so he checked out of the resort. Management were less than empathetic and only informed my husband NO REFUND. Overall the resort is run down and tired we would not consider staying here again.

Chaweng Buri is a pretty hotel which consists of some bungalows located in a tropical garden. It is beachfront and has a swimming pool with a bar. It also has a restaurant where breakfast is served to the guests in the morning. the location of the hotel is really convenient for shopping and going out - it is just across the road from the shopping mall and has a lot of restaurants and small shops all around it. However, the central location of the hotel also means that a lot of random people are coming to its beach, so it becomes quite crowded. the sea in front of the hotel is ideal for swimming which is not the case of the neighbouring hotels, and this also attracts people who are staying elsewhere. There are also two trees at the hotel's beach, providing shade and this shaded area also attracts people staying in other hotels. The popular nightlife landmark Ark Bar is not far from the beach grounds of Chaweng Buri and one can hear the music from it as of around 16:00 every day, but the music is not that loud and does not really bother. And when one is inside the bungalow, one does not hear any sound from outside at all, so it is really relaxing. The garden of the hotel is pretty and is inhabited by butterflies, birds and squirrels. the swimming pool is big enough and really pleasant to swim in. The pool bar is nice but slightly overpriced and there is no happy hour. The bungalows are cozy and have everything that is needed in them. The towels are kind of old though. And another drawback is the fact that the airconditioner blows straight on the bed, so one can catch a cold easily. The breakfast was good with differnt savoury dishes, fruit, vegetables, omelette and fried eggs stand, waffles, bread and tea and coffee. The coffee from a coffee machine was real espresso and one did not need to pay extra for it which is not that common in the hotels in Koh Samui. The staff of Chaweng Buri is very helpful and friendly, making one feel very welcome. they let us check out an hour later than the obligatory check out time for free.
