I did love it there but apparently it has closed. Can anyone confirm if it is being refurbished or has been bulldozed. Any info on what is happening with it would be appreciated. I miss this place and am in withdrawal.

Muang Kulaypan is a beautiful 'eco friendly' traditional 'Thai Zen' hotel in North Chewang and right on the beach. This is not a resort and not somewhere I'd recommend for a family with children, but excellent for couples or singles. The hotel is amazing, it's very different to the run of the mill resorts, the rooms are beautiful and all...

Was there in 2005 with my ex-wife, recommended by Design Hotels - we liked the purist style then, but on several visits to Samui I had a look around the property, and it looked pretty run-down. Rumours have it that it has shut down for now and is being replaced by a new resort.

For our 35th Wedding Anniversary we stayed at Muang Hotel, Chaweng. From the time we arrived we were impressed by the level of service, lovely surroundings and helpful staff. Nothing was to much trouble. Even changing rooms on the second day of our stay.On our wedding anniversary my husband asked for brekky to be served on our balcony, which was...

After hours of research for many weeks prior to our trip I did research on somewhere to stay for our week in Koh Samui. This hotel kept coming up and went to the top of our short list based on travellers' reviews, price and location. We were looking for a mid-range resort style on the beach which was not far...

I stayed here with friends for 8 days in May. The location is ok, a nice 10-15 walk into the main Chaweng beach area and plenty of transport available on the road. The hotel is very old and in urgent need of renovations, I'm not sure if this is planned or not. The railings on the fences on the balcony...

Ok hotel at a quiet location on Chaweng beach. Close to center of Chaweng and very close to ATM and small convenience stores. The rooms somewhat run down but tidy. Staff was ok. Overall, there was a feeling that management and staff didn't really cared about the hotel or about it's guests. The beach was ok but the water was...

A special hotel at the beach in a quiet spot of Chaweng beach. The hotel with an eastern allure that provides a serene athmosphere. The rooms are nicely designed with an elegantly eastern touch. The hotel reflects calm and tranquility, different from other hotels in Chaweng. This hotel provides a good breakfast at the beach ( in a beach hut...

We stayed here for 9 nights from 21/7/15. 2 adults and our 2 teenage children. We had interconnecting rooms which were fine but a little dark. Didn't bother us though as we were not intending to spend a lot of time in them anyway. The hotel is balinese style and had a spa like feel. Very clean and helpful staff....
