The Baia degli Dei Beach Resort, surrounded by beautiful, pristine expanses of Mediterranean scrub, is located in a panoramic area unique to this holiday village in Calabria. It is an oasis overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea just a short walk from the centre of Le Castella, a lovely old fishing village. Perched out at sea and visible from every corner is the Aragonese Castle, an icon of Calabria and the pride of a people who take tradition to heart. It is a paradise for families, groups of friends and anyone who loves the sea; and is the ideal place to spend the perfect holiday. The Baia degli Dei Beach Resort is set in a stunning, characteristic and green setting. The village has a lively main square as well as swimming pools, restaurants, a bar and a piano bar. The resort has 3 swimming pools, including one for children; a wellbeing centre with covered heated swimming pool; a hydromassage pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and massages and beauty treatments at a fee; an amphitheatre for shows; football, bowling and ping-pong facilities and an equipped gymnasium; 1 main bar at the swimming pool and 1 bar stand at the beach; an internet point; a newspaper shop/tobacconists; a hairdresser on appointment; a medical service (on request); and an unsupervised private outdoor parking area.

We visited at the beginning of July. Occupancy was around 25%, and we often had the swimming pool for our selves. Only Italians in the hotel, which was great. Big thank you to Giovanni and Fabio from the main bar, who were very helpful, friendly to kids and attentive. Great Italian coffee everywhere and anytime. 5 mins walk from the town Le Castella with many shops, restaurants, etc. There is a 2400y old castle right by the beach making the view breathtaking. Definitely recommend.

ACCOMODATION
2 story villas with individual apartments are spread across well maintained garden with palm trees. Large room with TV, individual aircon, fridge. All good.

FOOD
We got all inclusive, incl. free alcohol drinks from noon.
Breakfast - only weaker point. Every day the same. It was tasty, especially freshly baked 4 kinds of croissants, but remained the same for whole week.
Lunch&Dinner - always changing, and very delicious mostly Italian food. Wide variety of starters, salads, 3 types of pasta (always done perfectly al dente), meat, fish, or seafood dish. Once we even got nice rare done tuna steak. Ice cream for lunch, different local desserts for dinner. Best was Mille-feuilles. I think we have tasted most of the italian dishes :-)

POOLS & BEACH
2 big pools, one up to 2,6m deep. Jacuzzi and pool for little kids. All very clean, with life guards. Nice sandy beach, directly in front of the hotel. Free chairs from 6th row. Very clean beach and water. Gradual entrance into the sea. Perfect for kids.

ENTERTAINMENT
Very large Animation crew of of about 17 people. Very friendly and helpful. Had a lot of energy and a lot of different activities for the kids. They also had activities and games for adults, evening shows with singing and dance shows. Guy with guitar played live after lunch and in the evening by the main bar. All done in Italian, but anyone can follow and was a lot of fun. They even have a big stage/amphitheater with professional sound and lighting equipment for the evening shows.

One tip. Since the hotel is clearly oriented towards Italians, not so many people can speak English which didn’t bother us. It would be very helpful to have a manual in English explaining all animations programs, trips, what hotel has to offer and especially that one pool is for relaxation only etc. We figured it out on our own but it would have been nice to know advance like the Italians did on their first night during the information show. I would also add some more people in the morning during breakfast to help out at the coffee corner.
We loved our stay. It was really what our family needed. Very relaxing, entertaining, good food and great people. Thank you!!!

Beautiful landscaped complex with 3 swimming pools & large but congested beach bed area when hotel is full. Rooms clean & updated. Food in restaurant is Butlins / Pontins style in large hall. Beach is nice & sandy but drain on side of property is leaving trash at the seas edge. Suprised it is not cleaned, diapers & other toilet trash washing out infront of property.
Enjoyed our 1 night stay but glad it was empty.

The place is placed in the Ionian sea. You can reach the beach near thr fortress that gives the name to the region. There are also two pools that are very well managed.
You have to walk a lot to reach the beach, that is in the lowest part, if you are in room near the reception and the slope can show its importance if you make this walk multiple time during the day. But have a walk in a very well maintained garden is positive and you can appreciate the different part of the resort. For the restaurant, that is near the pools, you have to choose according your taste but there is plenty of food in the buffet.

Horror holiday in all respects, poor village from reception to the beach
Let me start by saying that unfortunately I am still in this (village but it's a real c...o)
Arrived on 12/08 for 15 days. The wait for the room was long
5 hours to give us a dirty room under the beds There was everything and more I will publish the photos the rooms are not washed there are few workers for 200 rooms then the
Quadruple room specific comfort because there is also the standard one but nothing changes and it's just a question of money so a rip-off inside there is a wardrobe for a double room for a family of 4 people who spend 15 days must keep their suitcases in car (I will publish the photos)
I went to the reception and asked for explanations regarding the wardrobe and the answer is Oscar worthy, we are a 4 star 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Standard quadruple room with small wardrobe and small room

Comfort quadruple room with small wardrobe and larger room

Suite very large room but small wardrobe

Now we move to the first pool

24 umbrellas and 48 deck chairs so it accommodates 48 people, the rest can stand up
There are 2 dirty bathrooms without soap and they have been washed since I arrived so if you get upset you have to go back to your room which is not nearby
Then there is the main bar where upon booking they give you the
Soft all inclusive (large only) to get a glass of water you have to queue
For other products (poor all inclusive)

Let's move to the second swimming pool where there is also a hydromassage but it doesn't work plus you smell a sewage smell at various times of the day
In this there are three bathrooms I will post photos
Where they are not cleaned and for those who have children how to go back to the room and here too there are 20 umbrellas and 40 deckchairs so it accommodates 40 people the rest are standing 🤔🤔🤔

We arrive at the beach and since the structure is unable to support the number of people on the beach, if you don't book at the price of €100 per week 9th row I too risk staying up without
Located on the beach there are no bathrooms or showers and from the beach to the room it will be 700/800 meters uphill

The beach chairs are broken I will post photos

The restaurant 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Poor products repeated within 15 days and everything frozen

We are doing the cure of white pasta but it is plastic

The chef's proposals need to be reviewed

In the sense that if you eat grilled swordfish in the evening, on the menu of the following days you will find it in the pasta or something else

August 15th was a disappointment like the Calabrian evening, truly shameful, a bit of spicy salami and a bit of pasta with La nduja

The inedible desserts offer things that don't even know how to make even a simple tart

I suggest that outside the village there are 2 typical Sicilian shops

One makes arancini and one makes really good desserts

Disappointing holiday all in all
I will publish all the photos so those who have to book think about it

Because I paid about 8k and I'm disappointed

Good evening, my name is Bruno and we stayed from September 3rd to September 9th, we were 4 families, we were amazed by an exceptional structure, food, bar, reception, everything was perfect. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is all excellent and good, and then the waiters, the manager, the chefs are all kind and welcoming, a rating of 10... the bar staff are very kind, welcoming and friendly, a rating of 10... the reception is very kind and welcoming, a rating of 10. In the end, a applause goes to the entertainment team who entertained us to death throughout the week, available, polite, friendly, very good at every show they did with love 😘😘😘😘 thanks for everything, vote 10++++++++++ and then a thanks to the manager who was always in contact with the employees and customers throughout the week, a very kind and helpful person, rating 10…. Heartfelt congratulations to everyone, you made us have fun 😘

Terrible experience, the worst village we have stayed in, everything is terrible from the rooms which are dated and dirty; entertainment in my opinion non-existent, I have never found anything more boring and the food is poor if not terrible. Biboneria non-existent without an assistant or a room attendant, all a disaster honestly don't trust me because it really is overrated!

Beautiful location, well-kept gardens, good food, beautiful beach with a view of the Aragonese Castle.
Now comes the sore point: terrible room cleaning. Found hair and dust that wasn't mine. Terrace never cleaned for a week😣.
I recommend a sticky plastic tablecloth on dining room tables, better than paper or fabric.
I forgot a set of keys in the room, sent an address to send them and after a month and a half nothing.
I'm sorry because the place is beautiful

Review released based on value for money - 1st week of August. HIGH STRUCTURE COST AND MEDIUM-LOW SERVICES.

Very beautiful structure, located in a beautiful bay adjacent to the Castle.
Excellent facility, 2 swimming pools for adults and one for children. Property located beachfront.
Reception staff very friendly, but overall all the staff were friendly.
Poorly organized arrival, also due to the holidaymakers, who arrived in the morning at inappropriate times (they were told to arrive in the afternoon, but everyone arrived in the morning and created a lot of confusion). Strict and strict rules should be given for arrival.
Large, spacious and nice rooms. Not cleaned impeccably, upon arrival it was redone twice (the bedspread was dirty and stained). During the stay it was often summarily redone, specifying that the sand remained on the floor, even the bathroom was summarily redone. External hallways between the rooms, practically never cleaned (only on request).

All inclusive, excellent, nothing to say about that, excellent choice, quantity and quality of drinks included all day (beer, water, cocacola, orange soda, bitters, sambuca, prosecco, spritz,.....)

Average eating, nothing exceptional, perhaps the quality of the food could be improved, often repetitive and below average, sometimes due to the confusion tending to a canteen, with the buffet often lacking common cold cuts.
Average breakfast, coffee in the morning is made on the spot from the classic coffee machine (excellent solution).
The quality of the buffets for lunch and dinner are a little below average (sometimes both the meat and the first courses were not of great quality). The queues to get food are average and bearable and are not exaggerated. Very large restaurant room, but the tables are not assigned, unless you have the superior package and for this reason mere mortals (i.e. 90% of the customers) wandered around the room looking for an empty table to eat, often for about 20 minutes .
Insufficient tables: I would put at least 20 more tables. The number must correspond to the rooms or more or less, around 50 tables cannot be missing, it is not conceivable. The wall of the room and the floor of the restaurant were not very clean, it was often very greasy (especially near the cleaning points of the waiters, the wall was often dirty and greasy with sauce stains on the wall). In my opinion, the floor should be cleaned constantly at lunch and dinner.
The waiters present are always kind, they work hard, hats off and nothing to say, they were present in the room tirelessly, but they were in fact disproportionate for the number of customers, "too few" (at least 4 more were needed/ 5 waiters).

There is a poorly maintained five-a-side football field in the structure, located behind the structure's rubbish dump and behind a stream of dirty water that flows down from the town, very smelly and discharges into the sea (this discharge into the sea should be verified by the competent bodies)... .

Car parking to be reviewed, under the scorching sun, no possibility of a covered space even for a fee and 300 meters away from the structure in a half-abandoned clearing.

Pool lifeguards, always present, but in fact always sitting relaxing on the chair, I would have them constantly tidy up the sunbeds (when left empty) during the morning and afternoon (not just at the end of the morning and end of the afternoon) and especially at place to be there I would invite them to clean the glasses and papers left empty around the pool left by rude customers (there are plenty of them) who often fly into the pool.

Greenery and common areas of the structure well maintained, impeccable.

Umbrellas on the beach are taken care of upon arrival in the morning, unless you have the superior package which is reserved for you for the whole week.
Some sunbeds are partially torn and poorly maintained and should be replaced.

The sunbeds at the pool were not totally sufficient, but that doesn't matter.

Beautiful, clean, average sea, not the sublime sea of Salento or Sardinia.

SUPER POSITIVE AND WELL STRUCTURED NOTE:
Entertainment: SUPER, excellent, professionals in the field, recommended. The afternoon and morning shows on the beach are beautiful, the relaxing "coffee" moment is beautiful. The afternoon and evening scratches are very nice.
The head of the team is excellent and professional and the head entertainer is also good (in my opinion and as advice to improve more and more I would present all the entertainment staff better and every evening, perhaps with a personalized piece of music and with a personal gag to each animator on their origin and way of doing things).
Anyway, well done to all the entertainment staff.
I would really encourage the afternoon to manage and organize matches at the five-a-side football pitch for the children; There is a five-a-side football pitch, but it is practically organized self-service, except on two occasions (above all, use should be encouraged with a mini-football school or small games for children aged 10 to 14/16). I would do a tournament every day, given the presence of the field.

FINAL ADVICE: increase the number of tables (at least twenty more), it is not normal to wander around for 20 minutes to find a table if a person arrives half an hour after opening. Another sore point, the desserts are of very low quality (often inedible), very often insufficient and not always present, I would improve the quality.
I would improve the quality of the food, increase the number of waiters in the room (they are insufficient and collapsing) and improve the cleanliness of the rooms.
Director of the facility always present.

RECOMMENDED AND WELL ORGANIZED PLACE.
