Lady Heyes Cheshire Glamping offers a unique experience that captivates guests with its cozy ambiance and charming fire pits, as travelers often find themselves sipping tea by candlelight. While the pods are generally praised for their cleanliness and comfort, there are calls for modernization, particularly with toilets and shared facilities. Despite the variety of amenities like hot tubs and a cafe, some guests find the high costs not reflective of the value received, and service reviews are mixed. Concerns include fluctuating hot tub temperatures and occasional inattentiveness from the staff.

This was our first stay at Lady Heyes Holiday Park, we stayed for 4 nights in a Deluxe Pod. The park is situated in a good position with shops and restaurants easily accessible, there is a small fire pit outside the pods to allow for safe use of a BBQ and the hot tub and the toilet and shower blocks were also of a high standard.

The park states that Glamping pods are furnished to the highest standard. On the website, when viewing the gallery for the Deluxe Pods, they show a light and airy, white interior however, what we actually got, was a dark pine interior which was dark and uninviting, they very much needed some TLC and we felt, a good mop of the floors. There were a number of other problems we experienced including, one of the sofa’s having a huge tear, the reception to the television being erratic and sometimes non-existent and there was no DVD available in the Pod. The pods look private, however there is access for anyone and we were disturbed by other people’s children looking through the openings in the fencing and staff walking in and out unannounced, including staff coming to clean the hot tub at 9am on the day of departure when we were trying to get changed in what should have been a private area.

Following our visit and subsequent email correspondance, Lady Heyes have added a Covid 19 update to their website.

With regards to the pods needing some TLC, the site said 'unfortunately the time we had allocated towards making improvements to the deluxe glamping area was lost due to lockdown and our temporary closure, once the high season draws to a close we will be spending the time making the necessary improvements' so I hope for future visitors that improvements and repairs will be made for next years season.

A DVD is available but only on request so be prepared to ask when you arrive.

The site have also confirmed they are comfortable with the systems which are in place to ensure the site follows all health and safety regulations regarding Covid 19, however, be prepared by taking antibacterial hand soap. Nothing is provided next to the sink in the pod and you really do need soap after using the toilet!

I would also recommend taking additional covers or throws to allow soft furnishings to be covered during your stay, if you are faced with a ripped settee you will be grateful you thought ahead to protect your family. The site said 'treatment of Envirosafe has been applied through a process called fogging, to each and every accommodation from a professional cleaning service prior to your stay and this is a proven infection control to industry standards. So please be rest assured that the accommodation you stayed in was cleaned to a safe standard for you and your family.' The fact remains that fabrics that are torn allow for entry of microorganisms and cannot be properly cleaned even with the fogging system.

We would not return but I hope that repairs and updates can be made to improve the experience of future customers.

We stayed at Lady Heyes for 2 nights in one of the Deluxe pods. Upon arrival we could see that Covid safety measures were in place and our pod and hot tub were both really clean. We noticed the staff working more or less around the clock to clean the pods too when people left.

We ate at the travellers rest pub which is within walking distance to the site and the food there was lovely. There’s plenty of nice walks and Frodsham itself is a lovely town full of shops and pubs.

The hot tub was perfect, really easy to use and relaxing. They have someone who comes round at 9am every morning to check the hot tubs and clean them. Plastic cups are provided so you can drink in there as well.

My only complaint would be that on our last night we were woken up at 4.30am by the pod next door playing excessively loud music (and don’t get me wrong I love music but not when it wakes me up). We contacted the site warden but had no response from him and the music continued for hours and kept us up when we had a long drive home the following day. Not much point having the contact details of the site warden provided to us if he doesn’t answer his phone when you have a problem.

The showers were a little bit grimy and you can smell the drains a bit in there, was a bit like being at a gym or swimming baths. But toilets cleaned regularly. Would book a larger pod with its own shower next time.

Overall a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend to any couple. Couldn’t comment on whether it’s good for kids as I don’t have them but I imagine the Deluxe pods are quite cramped with more than 2 people so would book a bigger one.

Just back from a one night stay in a deluxe pod as a family of 4.
Although recommended by friends I was a bit doubtful after reading some reviews.
However, I think the only thing I could pick fault with was that it’d be good to have some hand soap for the basin as we didn’t think to bring any.
There are only 2 mugs, 2 teaspoons, 2 plastic tumblers and 2 plastic wine glasses. Take your own plates, cutlery etc if needed.
The fridge was a decent size and there was plenty of loo roll, tea, coffee, sugar and a kettle.
Everything was clean and the beds were quite comfy too.
Don’t be worried about being warm enough - it was very cosy! After being in the hot tub we even sat with the door open for a while to cool down!
The kids loved the hot tub and the WiFi!
Buy safety logs for the log burner and fire pit from Home Bargains rather than pay £2.50 from the shop.
We were in pod 9 which I think was the most private - no one can walk past and see in to your pod or hot tub unlike the others.
We had a takeaway from Pizza Pan through Just Eat and they bought it straight to the pod. The website said it’d take over an hour but it arrived within half an hour.
So, a great stay and look forward to coming again sometime.

I've never been glamping before so was really looking forward to it. Lady Heyes did not disappoint, from the moment we arrived everything was taken care of. Checking in was quick and easy and we were also able to buy a disposable bbq and safety logs from reception both of wich were reasonabley priced. We were offerd a lift to our pod on a golf buggie as we don't have a car which was a nice touch.
We stayed in a superior pod which had everything we could have asked for. Inside and out were both spotlessly clean and well furnished. The whole place has a lovely back to nature vibe but with modern elements like wifi and LED lighting.
The outdoor area with the fire pit and hot tub was lovely.
The Vintage Teapot serves delicious food and drink to have in or deliverd to your pod. They also accept contactless payments as do reception.
The only negative about our stay was the bed. It had a lovely light duvet which was perfect for the hot weather but the pillows were very flat. The mattress was really hard and after a few minutes of laying on it became very uncomfortable.
We'd definitely stay here again and if the beds could be improved it would definitely be a 5 circle review.

First I need to point out that we stayed on the site with our touring van and not in a glamping pod. The glamping pods do look very nice and are very popular. This site also offers touring pitches with hot tubs as well as services pitches. The site is conveniently located for Chester, Delamere and only less than an hour from the Welsh border. I can only give this site three out of five because we found the person who checked us in to be a little curt and unwelcoming. The toilets were supposed to be deep cleaned twice daily but on most occasions when we used them the majority of them had been used and not flushed. We appreciate this is down to other campers being inconsiderate but we found this immediately after the deep clean had supposedly taken place. I got the impression a deep clean consisted of just holding down as the floors were constantly soaked. It left me wondering how well the hot tubs are cleaned between uses. We will not return yo this site.

Somebody spent alot of money on cups & saucers
the BAR has been pushed back, and choice of beers is poor.
Menu is VERY dissapointing, after a long journey the best they offer is half a pork pie???
Bring back the large homemade pies of last year, and the breakfast.
Tried the new breakfast, never again.
Comfy accomodation with grt views.

My wife and I visited this wonderful site at the end of June in our touring caravan. The moment we arrived we were welcomed by friendly and attentitive team members who where only happy to assist with our check in and our allocation questions. This 1st class service continued throughout our short stay whenever we came into contact with any of the team. The site itself was immaculate with an excellent bar area and amazing outside sitting area. The toilet and shower areas were spotless and very modern with subtle music playing in the background which was a lovely touch. We took advantage of the on site cafe and enjoyed the most delicious breakfast each morning. The reception staff were very knowledgable and very keen to offer additional information regarding the future growth of the site and shared there excitement about the new upcoming website. We left thinking why has it taken us so long to visit this little gem and we will be back at more regularly taken utilising a hot tub pitch and the glamping pods with the family 10/10

I would like to start off by saying thank you to the staff for a lovely staycation, I can imagine the pressure you are all under after only just re opening. Pod was clean enough (attention to detail slipped slightly e.g. shower head), hot tub was perfect temperature, check in easy.

But.... it seems that maybe not all guests abide by rules that are clearly stated throughout your website, that could potentially ruin some people’s stay. Loud music played by guests, day and night, whilst the majority of guests appreciate its a holiday to suit everyone, not everyone wants to listen to it, this should maybe be made very clear upon arrival and reflected throughout people’s stay. Never had this problem upon my first visit!

No washing up liquid to wash cups etc, only a small hand soap given to wash hands, no cutlery or plates, not enough towels. Little things like this could improve the stay so much more!

All in all, enjoyed the stay!

We spent 2 nights in Superior Pod 10.

The pods have a fridge and kettle facilities, a tv and double bed and a sofa.
There is space to hang your clothes and a shower cubicle in the bathroom. Whilst the bathroom provides all you need, if you’re any bigger than a size 16 you might struggle with space.
The hot tub is on a patio area outside where you can also have a bbq or a fire with safety logs from the on site shop.
The site rules are clearly pointed out upon your arrival and they well adhered to. The site was busy but there was never any excess noise. You could hear a pin drop at night time and everyone was very respectful during our stay.

If you are visiting you should definitely try The Travellers Rest for food and drinks. A 10 minute walk from Lady Heyes.

A couple of points for the management to note:

The hot tub had grit in the bottom and a thick line of scum around the water line. Easy to fix and makes a much better impression to just clean the tub properly.

You could do with 4 towels rather than 2. Towels for hot tub and towels for showering.

Provision of cutlery and perhaps some plastic plates would be useful but it didn’t spoil our stay, we just improvised and spread our butter on the barms with the back of a spoon.

I would definitely return to Lady Heyes for glamping, it was an escape from reality that I very much needed!

As a family we have been here several times over the years however I can honestly say we will not be visiting again. We have always overlooked the rude check in staff and the grotty shower/toilet area to enjoy a stay in a lovely pod with a hot tub. I thought given lockdown that the place would be sparkling and pods painted on the outside but no the whole place was dirty and looked abandoned if I am honest. The hot tub wasn’t cleaned on the second day, you had to book in to have 1 shower per day (meaning your left with the chlorine coating your whole body if you wish to use the hot tub after your shower), the cafe is expensive and poor quality, there’s nothing to do locally, WiFi was like dial
Up, no DVD players, oh and to top it off there a large groups staying smoking weed and playing music until all hours! For the price you pay it just isn’t worth the money!!!!

O8396AJstaceyw, we're sorry to hear that you will not return based on the reasons in your review and that overall you felt disappointed in your experience. Our reception team are always on hand to ensure an enjoyable stay for all our customers from the moment they arrive on site until the moment they depart. If you feel like a member of staff hasn't delivered a high standard of customer experience please do contact us directly to discuss this at this is not our standard of practice. We also take all points raised in regards to cleanliness seriously so we can only apologise for what you say you have come across as this is also not to our usual high standard and we have an entire team dedicated to housekeeping. We also have a team allocated to the cleanliness and maintenance of our hot tubs on site, we complete daily tests/records and processes on each and every hot tub on site not just when customers changeover but also as part of your stay, so we are unsure why you are lead to believe differently. At the time of your stay which was following the reopening of our business after the national lockdown government restrictions were in place affecting our communal shower blocks so they were available through a booking system and during limited times only. This information was displayed on our website and provided to you prior to your arrival on site and we provided you with alternate hot water access at your accommodation to ensure you could rinse before and after use of the hot tub. DVD players are available from reception and must be signed in/out by each customer in line with health and safety procedures. Thank you for your understanding, we do hope that you will choose to return in the future.

There is a restaurant on site and a bar, the bar is not cheap for drinks, you can get provisions from on-site reception, there is plenty of good restaurants in Frodsham £5 to £8 by taxi and public houses, there is a large supermarket in Frodsham and the car parks are very cheap
