We recently stayed with a group at this hotel. It is no longer a 4 star and is in need of some refurbishment.
I paid extra for a seaview room and found that that meant a view of the carpark with sea glimpses through the palm trees beyond.
Several of us had dinner in the restaurant and all found the food inedible or almost inedible. Most of us chose a veal cutlet in breadcrumbs with broccoli. The very soggy broccoli was the best part of the dish, the meat was so tough I was unable to eat any of it.

Our overall review is of a poor establishment. For a 4 Star hotel there is no complimentary drinking water in the room, in an area where the tab water is not drinkable; there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room; they charge 3 euros each for a pool side towel; however there is a phone in the bathroom…. Is that why they got a 4 Star rating?
Cleaning is good. Beds are comfortable; breakfast is below average (don’t get coffee from the machine if you care for your life…) ask the waiter.
All in all the place has a rundown feeling…. Great potential but no will!

My husband and I continued to sing the theme to "The Golden Girls" when walking through the lobby of this hotel, because, seriously, the decor was straight out of the 1980's! Bamboo and rattan throughout, which isn't a dealbreaker for us if the rooms were impeccable, crisp and clean. Kitsch can be cool. Unfortunately, it wasn't cool. Our Tour Manager (using Gate 1) described the hotel as "vintage, but in a lovely area." I think she was being generous.

Sound: The walls were quite thin, my brother and his partner were staying in the room near us and we could hear them laugh, sneeze, speak, and snore. I could hear the gentleman in the room on the other side blow his nose.

Cleanliness: The floors were in desperate need of a mopping. I cringed to walk barefoot through the room after taking a shower. I actually took a wet wipe to the bathroom floor, as there was dirt caked on it. (Let's just say it was dirt.)

Bathroom: The water pressure was adequate. The sink, faucet, and shower needed the attention of both a housekeeper and a maintenance person. The toilet had a paper band slid over the lid ensuring the guest it had been sanitized. While appreciated, I highly doubt the rest of the room was.

Bed and Linen: I found the beds throughout Siciliy to be very firm, but this one was the firmest. To me it was like sleeping on a box spring that supports a mattress. I did not see any major stains on the duvet or pillow cases. The towels, as well, seemed to be stain-free.

Staff: The few interactions we had with staff were not worthy of comment. They were neither dismissive and rude, nor overly friendly.

Food: I found the food to be adequate -- I tasted much better at the two other hotels we stayed in Sicily, but it wasn't my worse hotel meal, either.

Pool and Grounds: We stayed in mid-September for one night, so we did not have a chance to try the pool. It looked to be fairly clean.

I suppose if you found an excellent deal, Dioscuri Bay Palace Hotel would be acceptable, but honestly, I think it would be the equivalent of staying at a roadside motel, rather than an upscale spa-like resort.

If it was possible to give this hotel zero stars I would as that is all it deserves. No water in the rooms for over half an hour in the morning, very average breakfast, non-existent wifi in rooms, inconvenient location far from everything & incredibly dated & rundown rooms. Would not recommend.

During a recent trip to Sicily we spent 3 nights at this hotel.

It is not a very nice hotel to say the least. The rooms are extremely well worn, they should have been redone years ago. The breakfast is mediocre at best - canned fruit every day, we’re in Sicily why can’t you have fresh fruit. The only thing the hotel has to recommend itself is a nice pool, but be aware that swim caps are required for all swimmers and there is a fee for a pool towel. Also, the pool was closed for most of one day when we were there with no explanation.

Yes, the hotel is near the water and some rooms offer great views. That doesn’t make up for towels with stains and holes. The staff “hides” away, for example there was often no one at the front desk.

I will never return to this hotel. The worst hotel I’ve every stayed in.

Disappointing and decadent.
Needs a good renovation, old and outdated hotel.
The breakfast service was very good and the breakfast staff was phenomenal.

They came to wake us up on the day of departure with a “ring” at eight in the morning in our room (the rooms have a bell)

The rooms are terrible, the shower, a bathtub with a curtain, the beds, uncomfortable and hard as stones, you can hear everything from the next rooms, there is humidity.
Add to that we spent the first night in the hotel staying up late killing mosquitoes, our room was full.
The pool is very good, the only drawback I would say would be the swimming caps, if it is something mandatory, be notified and they could be provided by the hotel for free.
Speaking of location.
Close to the port.
During the day it is difficult to find a good restaurant to eat, if not impossible.
At night the promenade is filled with atmosphere and life, great restaurants within a five-minute walk.

In short, the hotel is not even 3* for me to be a 4*.
There is no coverage, only in certain locations.

We spent 30 minutes waiting at reception on the day of checkout and no one showed up.

The images speak for themselves.

Fabulous pool and view from the pool. We were there for three nights. Our room was too small for four. No place for luggage. No place to sit. Balcony had zero chairs. Our ac went out one of three nights and it was so hot hot hot, two of us had to try to sleep on the balcony tile floor using the towels as a mattress and rick hard pillows. Needless to say, nobody slept. Dogs, stray cats fighting/mating, noise from promenade. The hotel told us “tomorrow” it would be fixed. This huge hotel should have a 24/7 on call air person. So we didn’t sleep one of our three nights. My son had 33 mosquito bites and my daughter had nearly as many. Really rough and zero compensation. Nothing. We were too nice honestly but we should have been credited something. None of us slept. Really ridiculous. Shoulder shrugs.

Stayed for 1 night as part of VJV tour. One night was too much! Can’t think why they continue to use this hotel since the poor reviews are correct. It has the potential to be great but needs such a lot of updating, especially in the bathrooms with old fashioned over the bath shower and shower curtain! It was very hot when we were there and the rooms were uncomfortable. The air con temperature is controlled from the reception are and the manager refused to adjust it,claiming that the rooms were 20 degrees. Completely disinterested when we insisted that was not correct. It was a sweltering mid 30s last week and the room was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning was obviously set to save money and thus absolutely ineffective..We couldn’t leave any windows open because, on a Saturdayevening there is a huge noise from a music venue very nearby which continues until 3 am!! Don’t go there!!

This place doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating. The public areas within the hotel do not have air conditioning. A/C in the room is intermittent. Electricity and water go on and off. The restaurant has A/C but the staff is instructed not to turn it on. Miserable eating with no air but lots of mosquitoes. Internet in few areas of the hotel. Location is fabulous and pool is beautiful but it’s full of mold, it’s no wonder they require everyone to wear a swim cap. Was an absolutely disgusting experience. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Easter and Easter Monday we thought about moving to visit the Valley of the Temples. A family of 2 adults and 2 children arrived at this very nice hotel after visiting it on the internet 4 stars (they say) I found it very neglected, we arrived in the room a excessively hot, but I think well now I'll turn on the air and cool down but it was just a thought, we spent a hot night with my children sitting in bed, I tried to open the external door but the room was invaded by mosquitoes, my children devoured. In the morning I go to the reception I explain my problem... they justify themselves by saying that they haven't switched the hot air to cold yet (nonsense because other reviews expose the same problem) I find a very kind employee who tries to find me a solution he makes me change my room, less exposed to the sun and provides me with mosquito tags and Zambironi. We haven't solved anything in the morning we go to check out and I explain the problem again because he was amazed at the room change. It is justified by the fact that: it is a hotel close to the sea. Look, it's not the first structure I've visited near the sea and I've never seen these problems. Moral of the story we left with our children devoured by mosquitoes on their faces and all over their bodies. Poor 1 star hotel and problems that have persisted for years.

We stayed in a standard room but had a decent view. Don't know how superior the upgrade rooms would be but best to go for a higher floor with a good view if possible, especially if you are staying for more than one night. Enjoy your trip!
