We heard of this place via many people, varying reports, so we decided to look for ourselves, fairly easy to find, beautiful day lovely garden area, superb trees so one does not need a subshade, we had booked for Sunday lunch, now let us not be silly here, it is not cheap eats! it is way beyond that, beautiful food, served...

This quirky, boutique hotel offers a wonderful space to relax in. With a large, well laid out garden with numerous little areas for some privacy, there is a swimming pool with sunbeds, a jacuzzi, a sauna house and play area and crazy golf for the younger visitors in mind. The restaurant is a wonderful setting for the delicious meals that...

If this seems to be contradicted by other glowing reviews, it's because when you've tasted perfection, quite good pales. I stayed at St Jacques with a friend ten years ago and we were gobsmacked. It was one of my 5 best hotels of all time (Yorkshire Dales, Cornwall, mid France, northern Spain and southern Spain since you ask). Pool and...

Quirky but charming decor. Lovely gardens with a well shaded terrace for eating. We live about 40 minutes away and this was our first time here. We had the €55 tasting menu which happens once a month, and got 7 courses plus several amuse bouche as well as a glass of champagne and two glasses of red each ( well,not...

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was a terrible experience from start to finish. The room was dirty, the toilet seat was hanging on by a thread, the inside door handle fell off, the air conditioning units throughout the hotel made a horrible noise through out the night which made it difficult/impossible to...

We had booked two rooms in the same family name at the Hostellerie St Jacques, which is always a compulsory stop on our journey to and from the south-west, but there was a mix up with only one room actually booked. They blamed Logis - but I don't know - and anyway immediately personally took us to Le Sully down...

I wrote about this lovely hotel last June and how it would make a great weekend venue for a getaway and my other half, Basil, was listening intently as we have done just that. Out on a Friday from Stansted by Ryanair to Limoges, pick up a car no more than a 100 metres from where you get off the...

We always try to stop here en-route to south west France - as it is always first class. Yes, the rooms are all a bit whacky and very French! But they are spotless and comfortable, and many are very large. The restaurant is certainly one of the best we have ever found in France, making it an essentail stopover. The...

I was travelling to Saint-Saud to attend a friend's wedding in the area so booked into to stay at this nearby hotel for 2 nights. I absolutely loved it, the design of the whole hotel is so quirky, lots of colour. The garden was gorgeous, we were blessed with brilliant weather so we had our meals in the garden. Food...

“Each room has a different design so if you have a specific preference, you should request it when you book. My room looked onto the hotel's garden which was just brilliant, so I would recommend that. There are no lifts so if you have a lot of luggage you should request a room on the first floor to avoid the trek up the stairs!”
