We dropped in here by pure coincidence, and were immediately knocked over: pleasant welcome, fantastic late breakfast with an incomparable view over the hills! This must be a winner for a weekend in comfort, with massage, hammam etc thrown in! Seldom enjoyed the peace and quiet quite so much! We absolutely recommend this address to young and old who appreciate... More

The location of the hotel is stunning, remote, quiet and romantic. The hotel rooms are beautifully decorated, with taste and quality. Very clean. There are carts available to move around the different buildings and facilities. The food at the restaurant was good, not outstanding. The service was dreadful. We were received with a brief hello and an immediate remark about... More

This place is absolutely stunning. Located in the hills, it will provide you with stunning views, fresh air, and the piece and quiet that you need. The foods is exquisite and of Michelin star standard - make sure you try the souffle desert. The service is excellent, always there to help - these people really know what they are doing!

The Ostape is truly a "Relais de Silence"! The estate comprises multiple cosy houses in a typically Basque style. The are scattered over a huge property. To avoid noise immission, the cars have to be left at the entrance of the estate and guest get golf carts to get to their rooms. The views from the suits are breathtaking! The... More

We spent two nights at Ostape and totally enjoyed it. It is a unique country location, that is not on the map for a lot of tourists. It's a large property with only 22 large suites. No cars are on the property, as they provide golf carts for all the guests. All the amenities that one would want -- pool,... More

I stayed here, in August, for one night. It's a remote location, and incredibly beautiful, set against the foothills of the Pyrenees. It's very quiet, and even the kids that were at the hotel seemed to be influenced by the environment and were calm and quiet. We had a suite. It was a little tired; the loo paper holder would... Two tired people and a dog found this hotel a wonderful release from every day life. The hills and valleys that surround you are serene and mostly silent, apart from a few cow bells. Our junior suite was very tastefully furnished, enormous bed, huge bath and shower. The French windows that led onto a quiet hillside was appreciated. You could... More

A lovely place up in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We had fun in the golf buggies. The pool was stunning, breakfast perfect and what a beautiful view! Rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean, even though I would have preferred a duvet rather than blankets. Michel the man in charge was very helpful, polite and charming. We went as a... More

Our group of 9 touring cyclists thoroughly enjoyed our well earnt interlude at Ostape as part of our 8 day ride through the lower Pyrenees. Delightful rooms/suites combined with rural scenery, delicious food matched by stunning sunsets on the terrace and the child like glee we experienced in zipping around the roads in golf buggies. Small and interesting wine list... More

This is our second visit to this excellent hotel. It's idyllic location is somewhat unusual. The rooms are in blocks of four or five rooms set into their own hillside plots. The recreation areas and swimming pool are reached by golf buggies which is an unusual experience. We were part of a car tour and made very welcome. We had... More
