Not a good hotel to visit at all - staff rude , bedrooms unclean and dated bed very small for only a 5ft7 person Overpriced. Very noisy when a fair and fireworks were going off and hotel accepted no responsibility for the disturbance this caused ! We wanted a quiet peaceful stay this was not the hotel to choose!

This hotel has a restaurant that has a Michelin star apparently. They use the restaurant to sell the hotel. Do not be fooled as this is by no means a luxurious hotel - not even a 3 star hotel. Upon arrival, the woman who sits at reception was so rude and abrupt that we almost left and the guy at... More

We booked this hotel for one night enroute from Spain to the UK. It was in a very rural setting and it was difficult to find even with a SATNAV. When we arrived we found the door locked and a note saying the hotel was closed on that day. When we asked a local resident she confirmed that it said... More

If you're not someone or known to the chef you are treated like you are not worthy to be there. The bistro food was ok. Nothing spectacular. Service was appalling despite me and my group being fluent French speakers the young and inexperienced waiters attitude was poor and patronising. They didn't have our booking logged in their 'book' despite having... More

This is really a restaurant with rooms over. It's a very picturesque little spot. Rooms were OK - nothing special but very fair value for money especially with the really nice breakfast thrown in. Dinner, however, was really good and, given what we got, inexpensive. We had the cheapest menu with the wine flight. Really nice mix of well prepared... More

We had a lovely summer evening dinner on the outside terrace of the chateau. Food and service were outstanding. From the amuse-bouches to the dessert it was a delight. Very professional sommelière. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends !

What HAS happened to the previously excellent Chateau de Pomarede? This is our fourth visit, and we were looking forward to it. Sadly, something has changed and this is not the place it was. We knew at once from the welcome that something was amiss: no offer to help carry our luggage from the car; no explanation as to how... More

We booked this place as a half way point travelling from St.Remy du Provence to Angouleme.Hard place to find, when we did find it and saw the state of upkeep of the outside then the sorry excuse for a Reception Area we should have turned round and made our escape! However, there was no other alternative hotel in the area. Where to... More

We had the misfortune to stay here as our first night of a trip away. No signs to the hotel on the approach. First impressions were dreadful, plastic chairs stacked outside and the entrance to the hotel was what one would expect checking into a very third rate boarding house. The reception area was non existent - a settee and... More

We had the most disgusting experience here today. We actually decided to leave before cheese, desert and coffee. We spent 1 hour waiting for our first course and had drunk our tiny and I mean tiny glass of wine before it arrived. The portion was extremely small and was eaten in minutes. We then waited another hour waiting for our... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
... more   less
