We spent a day in Alicudi, a delightful little island. The day could have been wonderful except we had the worst possible experience in this restaurant. The salad we took for starters looked like it had never seen the light of day. The fish was old, frozen, and tasteless. To top it all, it was extremely expensive. And the staff were the rudest we've ever experience in Sicily.

This is the quietest Hotel I have ever stayed in. Set in a beautiful location, with clean, well appointed rooms overlooking the almost deserted beach, a few steps away. All the staff are really friendly and attentive. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. I read one review complaining about the lack of TVs in the rooms, for me not having a TV is another positive of the Hotel. If you would rather watch TV than stare at the sun setting over the sea and listen to the waves and the birds singing then maybe Panarea (or indeed Las Vegas) is the place for you! - but if peace, quiet and beautiful scenery are your thing then this is the perfect place to come.

We took a family holiday to Sicily and decided to venture further north to the wonderful Aeolian Islands. We opted for the smallest and remotest island called Alicudi. No roads, no clubs, just a couple of mules, 100 local residents and the Ericusa Hotel. The hotel was just what we wanted ... nothing flashy, just decent clean bedrooms with unspoilt views out to sea. An unexpected delight was the food. We ate the best fish food for many years. We would definitely come back again.
