Hotel was lovely, great location 2 mins walk up a hill from the ferry terminal. Staff friendly . The best thing about this hotel was the conservatory with stunning views over the bay . The hotel was full but we had the conservatory to ourselves. No need to pay extra for a room with a sea view as u can... More

We stayed at the Hotel for three nights in rooms with fabulous sea views of Kisimul Castle and Castlebay where you can watch the Oban Ferry come in at 6.30pm and leave at 8.00am the next morning. The service was excellent as was the food at breakfast and dinner. Would highly recommend a stay at the Hotel. An extra mention... More

We had already beat a hasty retreat from Isles of Barra Beach hotel due to chilly receptionist and no hot lunch. in contrast, castle bay staff were very friendly and accommodating and lunch was truly excellent - cockle linguine was super and lovely home made steak pie. Big thumbs up form the kids for the sticky toffee pudding desert.

We booked the dog friendly room which was clean and comfortable with direct access to rear grassy area. Staff all very accommodating. Well situated near ferry terminal with good pub adjacent which had live music at the weekend although this did not disturb us in our room

Stayed here for one night on 6th sept in 2 rooms, one at back and one sea view. Both rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The two female staff members were welcoming and helpful. Dinner was excellent with lots of local produce (be the lovely scallops) and breakfast was also well cooked and the very prompt service helped us get... More

Quite a few steps up to entrance to hotel which could be a challenge for some. We went for evening meal at restaurant and were impressed by the food. We really enjoyed our meal there but be warned the portions seemed to be on the large side- judging by our meal and those of other guest sitting nearby. Stunning view... More

We booked this hotel as the last stay on our Outer Hebridean Island Hopping holiday week and it was the only let down. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive and the food we chose for our evening meal was lovely. The public areas were comfortable and cosy and the views were stunnning. However, the initial misgivings on the room... More

I stayed in the Castlebay Hotel for one night before joining an organised group trip. I had a single "Hillside room" which was at the back, looking at grass and sheep. It was fine, a reasonable size, clean and light. The shower was clean and modern. Arriving at about 6:30pm and very hungry, I had dinner in the hotel. This... More

A great location overlooking the bay, castle and harbour. Quite a few steps to climb to the entrance but well worth it. Pleasant conservatory to enjoy the views. Rooms on the small side but have all modern amenities. TV not working when we were there so they gave us a reduction.

Our room was roomy warm and inviting after a fairly rough crossing from Oban. The weather was bleak so we also appreciated the home cooked meal we had in the rather dark and dingy dining room.a splash of white paint would make all the difference.
