I stayed here for 4 nights with my mum and loved it! Mrs McPherson welcomed us with open arms, like long lost friends and her warmth and outstanding hospitality never wavered. We travelled with my dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and this went down very well - Mrs Mac used to have 2 Cavs, so was very emotional when...

Couldn't have wished for a warmer friendlier welcome than we received at the Aros B&B. Mrs MacPherson was so helpful and attentive and plied us with tea and home-bakes as well as cluing us into the best walks on the island and organising dinner bookings and a boat-trip for us. The house is very clean and tastefully furnished with a...

Mrs MacPherson was a lovely lady who saved us from having to camp on the wettest island on our hopscotch experience. Whilst being incredibly unimpressed with the rest of Barra, our experience at Aros Cottage was a very comfortable, pleasant one. She was in high demand and we only managed to get a bed because she had a cancellation. The...

Stayed one night and everything was fine as we were the only ones there. Room was clean with an en-suite shower and sink with tiolet just across the hall. Made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the cooked breakfast - all very good value for the price charged. Plenty room for off road parking and a garage for the bikes....

A very warm welcome despite the time , it's 4.5 miles from the port & the ferry was late & we 'd cycled there! A pot of tea, cakes & biscuits was brilliant ! The cuckoo singing was a delight! The perfect start Island hopping trip.

We were stranded on Barra due to the breakdown of the CalMac ferry back to Oban. Thankfully we got booked into a delighful double rooom in a very clean and comfortable B&B. The lady of the house made us most welcome - gave us tea on arrival as we were vexed at being stranded. The next morning were woken to...

We were a party of four plus dog and booked Aros Cottage in Barra for 3 night’s B&B as the start of a Hebridean tour to Lewis via South and North Uist. Arriving on the evening of 18th August we were given a very warm welcome by the owner, Mrs MacPherson and immediately were made to feel at home. She...

I travelled with my husband for business in July to Barra. The B&B is clean and very tidy, comfy beds and nice hot showers. Mrs MacPherson knows a great deal about her local area and was very helpful to us, helped us with the local bus service, where to eat at nights, what would be open on a Sunday, welcoming...

Mrs. Macpherson runs a tight ship.  We had a double room; the bed was comfortable, the shower had consistently hot water and the toilet was down the hall.  Our breakfast was cooked to order and there was a hotel one mile from the B&B that we walked to for our evening meal.  Overall, it was an acceptable stay on an...

We travelled north to visit the Outer Hebrides and were told of Aros Cottage by friends who have a holiday cottage on the island. We received so much information and local knowledge from our landlady who was so positive about the island and other islands - Mingulay and Pabay. We learned of the heritage - given a steer to visit...
