The chalet itself is beautifully presented and very clean but you do have a 18 minute drive up the mountain to the slopes .We were picked up from the slopes at the end of the day but on 2 out of 6 of these days no driver turned up and we had to call them then wait 25 minutes for them to arrive. The food was average, you had to make your own toast ,tea etc the hot option being a large bowl of scrambled egg put in middle of table no hot option on last day.
We stayed at Chalet Montperron 8th-15th March 2015. Set in a beautiful location approximately 10 minutes drive from La Rosiere the chalet is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were made very welcome by all Green Rides staff, especially Ciaran and Ella, who were outstanding chalet hosts. The food Ciaran and Ella cooked for us was delicious and plentyful, and both came across as very professional. We were lucky enough to have 6 days of glorious skiing and wonderful company of fellow guests, however our only criticism would be that transport to and from the slopes was slightly inflexible for those who do not want to ski all day. Would highly recommend Green Rides.
Soon after we arrived at Grenoble we were met by Matt, who would transfer us to our chalet, a drive of about 2.5 hours. A friendly chap who is also the ski-tech for Green Rides well kitted out facility, which is based at the entrance to Chalet Montperron very convenient for guests staying here. At the chalet we met our excellent hosts Ciaran and Ella who would cater for us throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome. Chalet Montperron, situated alone on the winding road up to the resort itself, is approx. 190 years old but has recently been refitted to a very high standard with mainly wood and stone in keeping with a traditional Alpine style. Our room was light and spacious opening onto the balcony with fantastic views of the mountain and valley down to Bourg St Maurice as well as warm and clean with towels and plenty of hot water in the en-suite bathroom. Sockets either side of the bed for charging devices (wifi is available) and switches for nightlights handily within reach (the little things matter too). The ground floor is open plan with a large dining table to one side and sofa and armchairs near the TV and open log fire which gives a great atmosphere to this area, a large selection of DVD’s are available. A small reasonably priced honesty bar at the other end of the lounge is a nice touch. A full continental style breakfast is laid out from 8.30 with more than enough choice to set you up for the slopes. Teas and coffees are available any time if you’re having a day in. Green Rides vans transport you and your gear safely up to the resort of La Rosiere after breakfast for skiing with a range of cafes and bars to suit all tastes. When you are ready or after après ski in a warm bar its back down to Montperron for lovely cakes baked by our hosts and a well deserved rest. Evening meals were excellent, 3 courses with good wines and cheeseboard and coffees if you have room. One night is raclette night, like an indoor barbeque, very social, cooking your own meats and melting cheese on the hot plate, great fun. On the evening Ciaran and Ella took a well-deserved night off we went out to Les Marmottes restaurant in the resort with friends. At the end of our week we had an understandably early start to the airport (5.30am) to ensure all Green Rides transfers made their flights as two weeks previously a large dump of snow caused chaos for travellers with 25,000 stuck in transit. We both felt very happy and relaxed after this holiday.…
Green Rides provided us with great service throughout our stay. Even though our flight was delayed, Matt waited for us at the airport. It was a smooth transfer from the airport to our chalet, Montperron. Ciaran & Ella (our chalet hosts for the week) welcomed us to Montperron. They were exceptionally helpful and friendly from the word go and really made sure that our stay was great. They served breakfast early every morning, cake every afternoon and very tasty dinner after a long day on the slopes. The red wine served with dinner was also of good quality. We loved the log fire and we also had use of a sauna. Matt did our ski fitting for us and was more than happy to provide my husband with a bigger size mid-way through the week. We were also lucky enough to have the use of brand new skis and boots. Montperron is about a 15 minute drive from La Rosiere and our transfers to and from resort was very smoothly coordinated by all the staff. And lastly... Emily had the tough job of driving us to the airport on the day of our departure when the snow was really coming down. She had to concentrate really hard and while other cars where slipping and sliding we had a safe, uneventful trip to the airport. Our thanks to all the staff at Green Rides – we will definitely visit again if we ever get the chance.…
Our family of five have just returned from La Rosiere and a week in Chalet Montperron, with our excellent hosts Lucy and Yanis. They couldn’t do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The chalet was very comfortable with great views and the food was fab. Conor and Fay run a professional operation in La Ros with the help of their splendid team managed by Martin and Alesha. Very accommodating and great company. Don’t let the 12-15 minute drive to resort centre put you off as the team take you whenever you’re ready to go up or come back after a bit of après ski. Don’t forget to try a Bombardino or two (Graffiti bar up the mountain) when in Italy!
