This is not an impersonal Marriot type Hotel - in fact the Hotel owner even helped dig our car out of the snow on our final day! (just try getting that help at a Marriot) The Hotel is nice, local Italian staff, extremely handy for the ski bus service (in either direction), the rooms are a decent size and it all runs well. The staff are more helpful than you could imagine - nothing seems too much trouble and the owner clearly allows for their discretion and flexibility. Breakfasts vary by day (good) and are adequate for a days skiing on the mountain. Evening meals also vary and again, there is flexibility. Remember what you are paying for all this too - the Hotel is extremely good value, especially in this area.

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Rododendro in Campitello and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is about 7 minutes walk in snowboard boots from the gondola up to the slopes. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which if you are in ski boots you may wish to take advantage of. Location wise, if you're looking for ski in/ski out Campitello is not for you as your only option is taking the gondola to the top. Likewise it's possibly not the best resort for beginners as the run at the top is a red, albeit a lovely wide one. However if you're looking for a quiet village with a few restaurants and some nice bars then I would recommend it, the gondola wouldn't stop me going back to Campitello or to this hotel. On a ski holiday my main priorities are that the hotel is warm and has an abundance of hot water which this did. The bed was very comfortable and we had a large room with a shared balcony and private shower room. Everything was clean but a little dated as comes with the territory of ski resorts. The walls are quite thin so you can hear other people's alarms in the morning but as everyone is getting up around the same time to head out for the day this wasn't really an issue. The food was good and main dishes were typically hearty Italian meat and potatoes. There was quite a distinct lack of vegetables and one night the options were pork or pork whcih isn't my favourite. However there wasn't anything that we really didn't like. The desserts were really delicious and there was a good continental selection for breakfast with a few hot options. Bottled water and half a carafe of red wine were also included with the evening meal which meant we didn't spend a fortune on drinks with it being half board. Overall I can't really fault the hotel, the staff were lovely and our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. I think this is a great value for money hotel close to the Sella Ronda but in a quiet village location.

We had a lovely corner room - spacious, lots of storage and plenty of coat hangers. It was clean. The evening meal started with a buffet selection of starters. As part of our package we had wine and water included each evening. We would stay there again.

We stayed half-board, the food is good and the staff all work incredibly hard. Don't mistake tiredness for rude. Room walls are paper-thin so take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Ski bus stops right outside which is perfect, the boot room is small so time your visit well. Highlight was 'Dinner by Candlelight' which was charming and delicious.

Old decoration but everything was clean and neat. Staff was okay. We were not aware that dinner was included in our stay so we didn't have dinner there. The price was reduced for it. Can't say more. Nothing so special, it's a solid choice.
