We had the best 3 days here! We were not sure what to expect but our guide Fabian was AMAZING! He drove us in a speedboat in the middle of the night to get to the accommodation. He knew the waters so well- he had a flashlight! We were amazed to see it during the day! What a journey. We felt like we were part of the family. Sandra our host would cook us eggs in the morning and was very proud of her place. Fabian was so patient with us since we are not really outdoorsy kind of people. He was so excited to show off the Pantanal and his extensive knowledge. The home cooked meals were incredible- and the rooms were clean and spacious. It was such a relaxing couple of days spent with animals, wildlife and some of the nicest people ever! Would definitely come back here!

We had a great 3 days at Pousada Xaraes. Upon arrival, after an exciting 1 hour boat ride through the Pantanal rivers skilfully piloted by Fabian (highlight), we were immediately made to feel welcome by Sandra, her team and the animals on the farm. We quickly settled into the Pantanal pace of life, and felt really relaxed. We enjoyed interacting with all the animals on the farm, the home cooking and the overall authentic experience. The farm itself felt rustic and charming, and you could tell the staff really cared. The guides Alex and Fabian took great care of us on our outings and shared their deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna with us. Particular highlights include: horseback riding, canoeing at sunset, spotting animals, fishing, and just chilling by the pool watching all the animals pass by. Fully recommend.

Been to the south of the Pantanal last October. Special location where I met the REAL Jaguarguy, among others. He gives beautiful tours and he is a person with enormous passion and respect for nature. The Jaguarguy knows a lot about the area and will make sure you have a fantastic time in the Pantanal. Book the night walkie! :D

We stayed 3 nights in the pousada xaraes. We had a great time! Rooms were clean and the food was great. Our guide (jaguar men) was fantastic! He has a huge knowledge about the area, speaks English fluently and his enthusiasm for the pantanal was very catching :-)

This farm was the most amazing part of my trip! The wildlife there is incredible and plentiful. The horseback riding was beautiful and very relaxing. The tours of the neighboring farms were very personal and informative. If you can request the JaguarMan as your guide. He is at one with nature and give the best tours!

We stayed for only two days, but what an unforgettable experience! Spacious cottages, delicious food and wonderful tours! Tour guide Elias aka Jaguarman showed us a lot of the countryside, starting with a jeep safari chasing jaguars and caimans, while we got treated with dozens of other exotic mammals and birds. After we enjoyed a magnificent sunset, we drove to another farm where we got served dinner around a campfire in cowboy style - yeehaw! The next day we went on a nice boat trip on the Miranda river and the late afternoon was meant for horseback riding, fantastic! And right when we thought it couldn’t get any better we finally got to see a jaguar - amen! 🐆😍 Thanks to owner Sandra for her delicious homemade caipirinhas and tour guides Elias and Alex for sharing all their knowledge and their respect and love for the animals and countryside, never forget!

I remember visiting Pousada Xaraés as a kid in the early 90s and have always wanted to take my own kids back. My wife and I finally got the chance this past August and we had such a great time. We rode horses and a safari truck, we ate great food and fished for piranhas. It's in a remote part of the Pantanal and well worth the drive for a safe, cozy spot where we felt like family. There was wi-fi in the dining room and game room but we spent most of the time when we weren't doing cool activities playing games, reading books, and lounging in the hammocks. The highlight for us was the staff. They were intentional and made us feel right at home. We highly recommend it to anyone, especially families, looking for an adventure in the Pantanal!

Around the Lodge you can see several colorful birds. The meals (mostly typical brazilian food) were really delicious. We enjoyed our time there. Our Guide Elias - alias the Jaguarman - was really great. He was very passionate about showing us the animals living in Pantanal. With him the tours were exciting and always with a little suspense which animal we would encounter next. We totally recommend!

Pousada Xaraes was an amazing experience - we loved the B&B structure, the surrounding area and the staff hospitality. Sandra and Martha are really enthusiastic hosts - always concerned about our needs during the stay and even before it. The tours that they provide were incredible - we were able to know the fauna and flora details through the Rafael's teachings. In short, definitely we will come back!
