Our overnight stay in this lovely, historic house was delightful. The place is full of antiques lovingly collected by our charming and chatty host, who organized our dinner reservations at a local restaurant. His recommendation was perfect - turns out that he had been a Toronto restauranteur at one time. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and served, sumptuous and enormous -... More

Bob is an amazing host, very attentive and goes above and beyond to please guests. We were in town as photographers, Bob helped us find all the spots we were looking for, all while getting up at all the craziest hours to make us an amazing breakfast with fresh berries and real Canadian comfort food. The room was luxurious, and... More

Stayed one night during a business trip. Enjoyed lightening fast wifi, a host who really knows how to make someone feel comfortable and the historic feel of the home is undeniable. The breakfast was on-par with Langdon Hall (5-star award winning) and the coffee was brewed better than anything I enjoyed in Costa Rica earlier this year. ....really, it felt... More

A lovely property steeped in local history. Your host (Bob) is a gracious, attentive and true gentleman. We were greeted upon our arrival and given a quick tour, then we settled down for an informative chat with Bob in the dining room. The propery maintains much of its historic character and is filled with beautiful artwork and fascinating items to... More

If you're looking for a casual, relaxed atmosphere, this is not the place! Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the fastidious host, Bob and told of the house rules (take off shoes, don't run jacuzzi after 9pm, etc). This is a one man show. Bob enjoys conversation and will be there to welcome you home. He likes to hear about... More

This is a special find. The bed was very comfortable, the food extremely good and our host Bob is a gracious and fun host. We shared a number of laughs. The inside of the house is also full of character which is a reflection of our host. Great stay!

The Wild Swan has potential. IF you have travelled to many other B & B's, this is an average stop. I think most of us using B & B's, perhaps the most charming and educational way to travel, find most locations serve good local food, and are clean and hospitable, otherwise they wouldn't be in business long. Wild Swan host... More

We had guests from England and we wanted a good base for showing them the Haliburton area. Bob has a beautiful home that he shares, in a beautiful location, that is worth the trip on its` own. He made us all very comfortable, and the house is full of character and ambiance. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will... More

We've stayed in bed and breakfasts all over the world. This makes the top 5 and in many ways this place is like no other. This truly is a heritage home which had been renovated to modern comforts but up held the heritage feel. Every piece of furniture and art on the way has a story. Bob's passion to please... More

Wild Swan is fantastic, Bob, the owner, is a total character and takes care of everything. We were staying at Wild Swan for a getaway weekend to cottage country for some whitewater kayaking, and we will ABSOLUTELY stay there again. From the antiques in the beautiful rooms to the amazing breakfast and in suite jacuzzi tubs. 5/5!
