You read about the Lodge and yes it is excellent. You read about the food and yes it is outstanding. Allow yourself two hours for dinnertime because the meals are hand crafted. They are not heat lamp specials. What makes Heather Lodge is a caring and hard working staff. From the owners right down, the staff works hard to make... More

As the title says it's a great place to stay, first time my Wife and I have stayed at a "no kids" resort and we very much enjoyed our 5 day stay. First, the food, beware there is a lot of it, we took the Breakfast and Dinner option and in the main enjoyed every meal we had. The dinner... More

We stayed at Heather Lodge this past weekend, and it was amazing; especially the dinner! Chef Aidan created masterpieces on plates; simply delectable. The pork with dark ale and mushroom sauce was the best pork dish I've ever eaten; I didn't want the meal to end! It had to end, however, but what better way than with a white chocolate/orange... We had been looking for somewhere to enjoy a relaxing end to our busy trip to Canada and Heather Lodge was perfect. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake and could sit for hours looking at the black & red squirrels on the trees outside and the constant stream of birds taking advantage of the food left out for... We recently spent two nights at Heather Lodge - great combination of relaxed cottage life and exceptional food! Location: Very close (by car) to hiking trails, art studios, etc. The Lodge has only 12 suites, with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. We stayed in a Lakeside Suite - comfortable room with king bed, fireplace, small fridge, and private balcony overlooking... More

My wife and I went to Heather Lodge for a couple of nights at the recommendation of friends who had been here three times before. This is a very nice lodge in a great spot and I would have given it a five star rating except there were a couple of niggley items that prevented me from doing it: 1.... More

Seated at 6:15 but only finished at 9 p.m. for dinner, nearly 3 hours, on July 25, 26, and 27th (dinner on the 28th took only 2 hours). This is way too long, even for high season. I suggest they (a) cut out one course - the second appetiser (b) add more staff in the kitchen when they expect more... More

The lodge is rustic and well kept. However, there seemed to be lawn mowing during the dinner hour that broke the spell. The waiting for the food server and then drinks and then food was a very long ordeal for a not so memorable experience. The wait staff were not trained and there was a lot of confusion as to... Wonderful peaceful resort perfect for relaxing the day away! Great food-higher end finishing in the rooms. Dining room overlooks the lake along with outdoor dining also on the patio. Canoes were available if so desired. We really had a great time-please note that there is no air conditioning--temperatures were in the 90's during our visit. The dining area is air... More

Went for dinner. It is a set menu so you would think the food would come in a timely manner but that was not the case. Sat down at 7:00 pm and my entrée finally came at 8:00 pm. Apparently there was some confusion in the kitchen. Then the credit card machine didn't work and that took 15 minutes to... More
