The lodge is rustic and well kept. However, there seemed to be lawn mowing during the dinner hour that broke the spell. The waiting for the food server and then drinks and then food was a very long ordeal for a not so memorable experience. The wait staff were not trained and there was a lot of confusion as to... Wonderful peaceful resort perfect for relaxing the day away! Great food-higher end finishing in the rooms. Dining room overlooks the lake along with outdoor dining also on the patio. Canoes were available if so desired. We really had a great time-please note that there is no air conditioning--temperatures were in the 90's during our visit. The dining area is air... More

Went for dinner. It is a set menu so you would think the food would come in a timely manner but that was not the case. Sat down at 7:00 pm and my entrée finally came at 8:00 pm. Apparently there was some confusion in the kitchen. Then the credit card machine didn't work and that took 15 minutes to... More

We stayed for 1 night and what a lovely relaxing intimate place. Loved that it was a small resort. Our room was spacious with a mini fridge and Keurig machine. There is no A/C but there was a ceiling fan which kept the room comfortable. We sat on the dock, kayaked, swam and used the sauna which was exactly the... More

We stayed for one night and therefore did not get the chance to experience all the amenities ( hot tub, boating, beach) that they have to offer. The setting is lovely and we got the impression everyone was trying their best. Rooms have nice balconies and fireplaces. Biggest challenge was the kitchen and service. The food service was confused and... More

This resort has only about 20 rooms which all face onto the 12 mile lake. It is very peaceful and relaxing with all kinds of boats you can take out on the lake. The highlight of the lodge is the food. The co-owner is a cordon bleu chef of the highest standard and his meals are unbeatable. Don't be in... More

We arrived at Heather Lodge on Friday and were greeted by Maria. Outstanding welcome and customer service. We were given a tour of the property and everything was explained to us right down to how long it would take for dinner. (We have never had this happen before. The food was excellent as was our server McKenna. We had a... More

We stayed for 2 days and had a fabulous time. The dinner and breakfasts were top notch with exceptional service. Maria was very welcoming and helping us find things we wanted to do and to make our stay perfect, which it was. We stayed on the 2nd level and the view was great but the 1st level looks good as... We stayed at Heather Lodge for 3 nights at the end of June, 2016. The resort is really nice. The rooms are large and comfortable and the resort itself is on a really pretty piece of property. Our package came with breakfast and dinner. The food was amazing!! Everything we had was delicious. We were given our own table for... More

Best restaurant in Haliburton. We've been to all, Rhubarb is good - but was to busy and loosing the quality and service. Heather Lodge however delivers top quality, service and the view is stunning!!! Every meal is prepared with care and a relentless quest for mouthwatering experiences in every bite.
