We returned to Heather Lodge after a great stay last summer. This fall we knew we were going back. Heather Lodge is an adults-only lodge (couples, singles, friends, groups, businesses) in cottage country. It puzzles me why people go to cottage country and expect modern furnishings, hi-tech TV, ... thereby missing the Ontario cottage experience entirely. The lodge accommodations are... More

I did not stay at the Lodge, I only ate at the restaurant. Kirsten was our waitress and she was excellent. Reservations are normally expected. The menu is 4 courses for $CAD44. There is a choice of 2 out 6 appetizers. There are 5 excellent entrees and 3 dessert choices. The food was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. The... More

We loved the room! Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was really good and a la carte with a lot of choices. Although the weather wasn't great we really enjoyed our stay. If we ever end up in this region again we wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Visited Heatherwood for dinner only. Normally you would need reservations however they were able to seat us as a walk in (rare). Sat outside which was a beautiful setting high up on a balcony over looking 12 Mile Lake. Dinner was good but takes a long time as it is a 4 course meal with small portions.

We stayed at Heather Lodge over the August long weekend. Check in was easy, we arrived around 1pm, though our room wasn't ready we were offered a place to change and use of the dockside facilities while our room was being prepared. Great dock with muskoka chairs & beautiful water to swim & boat (canoe/kayak/SUP all provided). I couldn't believe... More

The property is really pretty, the rooms are so cozy. We had a balcony overlooking the lake which we would recommend. Maria and Chef James are welcoming hosts. You can relax in the muskoka chairs and read or enjoy swimming in a very clean lake with a hard sand bottom. Maria and Chef James have made kayaks and paddleboards available... More

We have a cottage on Twelve Mile so we decided to eat at the restaurant and stayed over one night after our wedding for some alone time. Overall we were disappointed with the meal and the room. The entire feel was old school and we were the youngest dinners by at least 20 years. The food was bland and fish... More

You read about the Lodge and yes it is excellent. You read about the food and yes it is outstanding. Allow yourself two hours for dinnertime because the meals are hand crafted. They are not heat lamp specials. What makes Heather Lodge is a caring and hard working staff. From the owners right down, the staff works hard to make... More

As the title says it's a great place to stay, first time my Wife and I have stayed at a "no kids" resort and we very much enjoyed our 5 day stay. First, the food, beware there is a lot of it, we took the Breakfast and Dinner option and in the main enjoyed every meal we had. The dinner... More

We stayed at Heather Lodge this past weekend, and it was amazing; especially the dinner! Chef Aidan created masterpieces on plates; simply delectable. The pork with dark ale and mushroom sauce was the best pork dish I've ever eaten; I didn't want the meal to end! It had to end, however, but what better way than with a white chocolate/orange...
