I came across Camp Poe through a connection from home and found myself there on a month’s adventure exploring Sri Lanka. I stayed for 4 nights...How to describe? - mmm.. this feels like a little piece of jungle magic nestled close to the long south coast of Sri Lanka and the horizon of the never ending Indian Ocean -just there. Jules has this beautiful way of welcoming you as if you are entering her home. I felt that belonging right away and a sense of ease without complication. And I trusted it. It was just what I needed at this part of my adventure - as I was travelling alone. The Yoga classes taught by both Jules and Sasha were so different to what I have normally experienced. A mix of tough/ soft compassionate holding us to our edge in their beautiful Yoga Shala ... You can hear the monkeys cluttering around on the roof, a funny companion to Savasana.. immersed in the cacophony of the jungle. We celebrated the full moon in a Yoga Nidra Practice which was punctuated by a full on monsoon rain storm. A very dramatic experience. Sheltered in the Shala and at the same time somehow a part of the storm - so magical! Something I will never forget. Jules combines her practices with soft gentle attending - to each person in the room (making you feel really held) and brings life to your senses with oils and incenses with clear, strong instruction. I felt inspired. Accommodation is good too I enjoyed staying in the female dorm, where I felt I had my own cosy cabin and privacy at the same time sharing space. There are lots of special options to suit different people. There are also lots of places to chill and read in this Junglette and be with the abundance of this and somehow feel satisfied - checking out the massive plants, bugs, ponds... Easy to explore neighbouring area and beaches. I enjoyed the sunrises at the beach (5 mins walk and then over a main road) with the dogs - who are so friendly. It is easy to meet and get to know like minded people/ dogs/ animals when you are there too especially over breakfast or dinner... or at the classes. Thank you to Maia, who helps to meet everyone’s needs at Camp Poe and to all who made me feel so so welcome.... xx…

Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 best place start Yoga’s Amazing Camp Poe Yoga retreat, great teachers and beautiful jungle place and Peacefully, Food was excellent as well! Wonderful location Ahangama, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, very close to surf spots , different kind of surf levels.

This place is an oasis in the heart of one of the best spots in Sri Lanka. It’s a magical feeling sleeping in a spacious safari tent being lulled to sleep by all the wildlife singing outside, also after a long day soaking in the outside bath with nature all around you is the most beautiful feeling in the world! Jules went above and beyond for us giving us some killer recommendations on everywhere we went, along with teaching some of the best yoga classes I have ever had. She made us feel instantly apart of her family and you are greeted with the most adorable dogs you have ever met, are always around for belly rubs and cuddles. Jules is also a stardust of a soul. The staff are the most wholesome locals we have met on our entire trip here, the chef cooked some ridiculously delicious Sri lanken dishes for breakfast & dinner (honestly some of the best food we had on our entire trip). The area itself is only a 10min tuk tuk ride to some of the most scenic beachfronts to surf and walking distance to some of the most beautiful bars and restaurants filled with good vibes & incredible food. A hidden gem in a happening area, you feel like you are in your own world as soon as you step inside and listening to the sounds of the waves from outside is just dreamy. This is my second time returning to camp Poe and I was more blown away by how relaxed I felt leaving again after only one week, this place has the most therapeutic energy inside. Can’t wait to come back again 🤍…

Camp Poe is probably one of the most blissful experiences I had in my travels😇 There is no superlative I could use to describe how peaceful and welcoming it is there. Jules and her staff will make you feel at home even before you arrive, once you're there you realize how privileged you are and very lucky to book it. The delicious food, the refreshing pool, the tranquility in the air, the efforts they put in order for their guests to feel relaxed and happy, all that will make you feel blessed. Please enjoy it for a week or so, however don't block their entire calendar because we're coming back soon 🥰🤟🏾🌊☀️🇱🇰

An unforgettable experience at Camp Poe. Thank you so much guys, you really made our first few days here in Sri Lanka very special. It's difficult to pinpoint my favourite things about our stay because we loved it all that much. This place is a gorgeous jungle oasis, if you want to meet some likeminded souls and escape the cares of the world for a while then this is the place! I had a wonderful week here relaxing and recharging while getting to know the lovely people who call this place home, even those like me who called it home temporarily. I can’t wait to return. Outstanding yoga and community experience in Camp Poe, on Ahangama beach. I took a yoga package and enjoyed 11 sessions over 6 days, including high-quality Vinyasa and Yin, as well as introductions to aerial yoga, SUP yoga and a yoga-on-the beach session. The Vinyasa classes were designed to answer my needs and the Camp Poe teachers, Jules and Kat, were simply excellent, be it in terms of yoga knowledge, corrections and guidance during flows and care/kindness. I highly appreciated the "à la carte" programme that was designed for me next to yoga activities, including a temple visit, and several suggestions of activities. Food (breakfast and dinner) was healthy and very good and accommodation cosy in a simple style. However what makes Camp Poe stands out is its friendly and warm atmosphere, created by Jules, Kat and Ashley who constantly ensure that the guests are satisfied and enjoy the activities they want. As a solo traveller, I was lucky enough to meet very nice guests with whom I hung out during my stay. The place is really great for solo travellers who like socializing and as a female, I felt 100% safe. Other guests -couples, families- were enjoying a more private stay, Camp Poe being suitable for both styles. We had a wonderfull stay at Camp Poe. The overall atmosphere is calm and friendly, the place is pretty decorated, the food is excellent and the people working and staying there are very nice. We both enjoyed surf and yogalessons, the teachers are very wel qualified. Its eassily accessible with train or car from colombo airport. We will definetly recommend a visit to Camp Poe.
