I booked a safari with this company for a family trip. Initially they were super responsive to all my questions and really receptive up to the point when I paid for the safari. The payment was made in Jan 2020 for a planned trip in Apr 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid shutting down international travel (and also because 2 of us are healthcare workers), in Feb 2020, I requested to cancel and for a refund. No response, which was odd because up to the point of payment, they were responding within 2 to 3 working days. I tried emailing, Whatsapping, Facebook Messaging, calling. No reply. Thus far I have been trying to contact them at least once a month and still no response. I understand Sri Lanka is out of lockdown already and I notice that they have been updating their Facebook page since June, so there really is no excuse. The safari itself, based on other reviews, looks great. But fat chance of getting a reply from them if you ask for a partial or full refund (or even a reply).

This is my second visit here (first time 2018). Still good and still recommend it. Udawalawe National Park is nice and elephants spotting is (almost) guaranteed, together with other wild animals. The Guides from Master Campers are experienced and will make sure the safari is a happy journey. Camping experience here is fabulous. With good breakfast / lunch / dinner provided on request. The tent itself is NOT 5-star luxury for sure, after all this is Sri Lanka! But it's a good balance between wild and comfort and the price that you paid. Atmosphere is chilled and relaxed under the palm tree and next to the lake. The whole team is dedicated and service is unmissible, even with alcoholic drinks available. For an extended service, the boss Uditha is super efficient and he can arrange almost whatever trips / service that you may need for your Sri Lanka trip. High recommended!!

We stayed with Master Campers for 2 nights and we did a half day (afternoon) Safari to Udawalawe National Park and a full day Safari to Yala National Park and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It was our first time seeing elephants in the wild and it was absolutely magical. We even saw 2 elephants with tusks which is really rare in Sri Lanka. On our second day in Yala National Park we saw a total of 5 leopards and some of them came really close to our jeep, what a memorable experience. Our guides Shana and Roy were the best, explaining everything about the parks and wildlife and the entire team at the camp was super friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed. If you come to Sri Lanka you can’t leave without doing a safari with MasterCampers, definitely one of the highlights from our 1 month trip around Sri Lanka.

We had such a wonderful time with master campers and with Shan, he was such a good guide! We learned so much about the animals, the history of the park and the history of the country. Every other tour group looked bored but we were all always having so much fun and our drivers were also really involved in spotting and tracking the animals. The food was so tasty and there was never any shortage of food, snacks or drinks. The tents are basic but you have electricity, a shower and toilet so you don't need much else. Everyone is helpful and kind and helped us create an unforgettable memory. Thank you to everyone at master campers!
