Galapita is just one of my favorite place to rest and chill in a romantic atmosphere away from the beaten tracks in Sri Lanka. Poetic place with great rooms furnished with antiques, delicious and tasty srilankan food, great tree house for the sunset. AC, sparkling, 100% security and privacy lovers, this is not a place for you! But for those...

Galapita is an eco lodge you could be in the far south east of the island in Sri Lanka. it is not really the place where you could see tourist walking around in it's magnificent landscape. Truly it is magic and pure natural. I found this place for my self just over than a decade ago. Ever since then i...

This location is magnificent, the river running through it makes for excellent bathing as well as a sand beach for children to play in, it has shaded and sunbathing spots but it is all a little shabby. The rooms are open to nature and well separated around the property, the overall decor is ambitious and speaks of an earlier time...

i together with 14 others including young children stayed there on 15th April. We had reserved the place for two days. We booked the place just seeing its pictures on the website. Everything seemed great on the web. However we all were shocked and surprised to see the utter poor quality of cabana type rooms, dining area and toilets. Everything...

We visited this place and stayed over night. It is a miracle of nature. We were reaching there after a heavy rainfall. As a result reaching there from the main road was some what difficult. The river was full of water making so much fast rapids. You got to cross the river along a suspension bridge over the river to...

Just got back from a 2 night stay here. Place was stunning with the rooms built around the rocks. Everything was very open though- so please take plenty of insect repellent! The bathrooms are outdoors and can get messy if it rains but all in all its an interesting experience. Food was good and service very good. The river is...

Make no mistakes, this is NOT a resort or hotel, and I don't think the owner intends it as such. What it is, is a collection of very tasteful huts positioned on the bank of a river in a jungle setting where wild peacocks and monkeys roam, and wonderful birdlife abound. It is camping at its elevated best, with solar...

We came here on the recommendation of a friend and had also been taken by the pictures and narrative on the website. Unfortunately, Galapita does not live up to the expectations! Yes, the setting of the place is really stunning but the place itself is in need of care and attention. Big issues (buildings falling down) but also small ones...

Wow: what a magical place with real monkeys waking us at 5 m distance, a frog family of 12 who lived behind the beautiful paintings during the day and came alive at night plus several other animals. The art and the antiques spread over the resort, plus the massage space and the treehouse were until this place only imaginairy. Thanx...

This unique & special place is a must do in Sri Lanka. The owner is a dreamer & an true visionary and the 4 guesthouses are all beautiful & spacious & breath taking. You will be spoilt by Malika the manager & never want to leave. The food is the best in Sri Lanka that we had. You don't order....
