Stayed here for one night on our way to Oban. It’s a nice clean hotel very COVID secure. Our second floor room had great views across the loch. As we had our dog with us we opted for room service for our evening meal and it arrived on time, hot and well presented. We had a choice of two menus and the food was excellent, thank you. The hotel is full of character with antiques and this is a refreshing change from the bland blankness of chain hotels. The staff work hard and are cheerful and helpful especially considering the extra work they have to endure in these challenging times. Across the road is a lovely area of mature enclosed gardens reserved for hotel guests and direct access to the tidal loch shoreline which is a haven for wildlife. This has been a pleasant return to travel after the last year and a half.

My husband booked this hotel for a weekend away shortly after they opened. When we arrived, we were very fortunate to have been upgraded to a beautiful room at front of hotel with the most amazing views! Toiletries were rituals and tea tray was all best quality items. Covid procedures were being followed throughout the hotel to the highest standard. There is nothing I could think off that made me feel unsafe. We ate in the restaurant our second night and were wishing we had eaten both nights. Great menu at great prices. Staff were very attentive and nothing was a problem for them. I had the fillet steak served with rice in a creamy sauce and it was superb. Husband had the haddock and chips and everything down to the tartare sauce was homemade. When checking out, we spoke with the manager who explained that they have done a lot of refurbishment to the hotel and still have lots planned, we had asked where we could get a ‘proper’ coffee for our journey home and she went to the trouble of making some for us. We will definitely be back and hope that through their changes, they don’t lose their charm. A true gem.

Went here this evening as I'm staying local in a beautiful pod with ny husband and 2 kids. On entrance I was greeted by the receptionist with a baby...instantly I. Thought wow so informal and unprofessional.the decor was absaloutely awful.inagine country mixed with Chinese dragon and added elephant ornaments..... plus beer tankards as decor...... to then be seated on bamboo ancient broken seating.to be served off alcohol. Honestly I was so horrified.out of kindness we stayed and payed our drinks but absaloutely did not order any food.i noticed the soup was kept in a hot pot at the bar!!! Also the place is covered in decor of dead animals horns covered in dust.. Mix it all in weirdly with stale smoke! Times have fairly moved on and I'm horrified that I came here due to the 4.7 rating on trip advisor.....

Staff were brilliant. Room? Very clean and decorated but our room was noisy from above, and not value for money. I should have book a Premier Inn. Disappointing to say the least. I can't think of anything else to say. Nice location.
