Exactly what we looked for. Charm, professionality, peace, large and clean rooms, beautiful view, good breakfast. There is a small swimming pool and a beach at walking distance. Wish to come back and advice for the others to test it.........

How easy is it to walk from Les Terrasses du Bailli to a restaurant in the evening? I am hoping not to have a hire car for this week. I will be travelling with a 10 and a 14 year old so really we are looking for informal places.

There's only a few of restaurants available within walking distance (Sep'14). One is a rather pricy one just a few hundred meters down the street in the other hotel of the same chain, and as far as I remember, there's a couple of others up the hill. You can get sandwiches and the like in the hotel's cafe, but not sure if it's open for dinner.
While renting bicycles is an option in the hotel, it'd be tough to get around as the terrain is quite hilly. I'd recommend a car, but visiting the few available restaurants might not a terrible option either.
When we visited, we drove by car to a restaurant called L'escale, but it's a hit-and-miss. We also drove to Cavalaire, which had a really nice creperie and beautiful scenery too.
