Well as I have to make short on here No restaurant on Sunday Oldish spa Coldish jacuzzi Hammam not working Old room No customer's service Rude manager/owner Bath leaking not anyone's concerns Nobody at the reception or answering nighttime
Enchanting layout: a castle just outside Cognac. Swimming-pool, nice external area where you can have your cup of champagne and have your meal at their restaurant (we had both). Excellent spa services are present. The lady at the desk was very friendly and efficient. Each room is unique in terms of design and colours. My room was extremely clean. A wonderful experience (even though I was on a business trip).
Good location for visiting Cognac, Angoulême and environs. The hotel has views to the Charente river and beyond. You can visit the wild "jardin respectueux" in front and reach the river on foot for pleasant promenades. The outdoor pool isn't heated, which would make it pleasant in the hotter months. In the price of the room, we were able to reserve an hour-long slot per day for the little spa with its hammam, sauna and jacuzzi. It could do with a revamp, as could the rooms, but the communal areas seem to have been renovated more recently. The set dinner menu at 33€ was excellent and the service from Thomas and his team was very good. The buffet breakfast was copious and was made up of a great deal of local, organic produce. High five for the scrambled eggs, which must have been made the traditional way over a bain-marie.…
Wonderful hotel, the staff make feel very special. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet, love the fact that they are all decorated differently. Can’t hear any other guests or any other noises ie.plumbing etc. The food in the restaurant is exceptional with local produce and their own grown vegetables. The chef is very inventive. Just a lovely place to be.
A delicious meal. Everything from the amuse bouche, starter, fish course, meat, cheese & dessert cooked to perfection with perfect balance of textures & flavours. Fabulous wines served by knowledgeable sommelier. Honoured to meet chef.
We spent one night at L'Yeuse, our party being split in rooms 1 and 3 which overlook the Charente river. What a picturesque place! Quaint accommodation, lovely vicinity, and above all proactive and efficient staff everywhere. From booking to checking-out all our requests were anticipated and our expectations were exceeded. Dinner was excellent with swift and friendly service. We also appreciated the almost 100 % local and organic breakfast buffet. Bathrooms may soon need revamping, and I was surprised not having free sleepers in such a property but these are very minor points to raise. They do not matter when guests are treated in such a remarkable and flawless way. Excellent job and top quality-price ratio (we had found a bargain on the hotel's website, much more competitive than on The Collectionneurs' one).…
Excellent place, very nice and professional staff. Nice small spa, rooms are clean and well decorated by local artists. The bar area is very nice. The breakfast is outstanding with local food only! But It would be ecologically-minded and not give small samples of products (shampoo & bath, lotion,..) in each room. You should rather change it with large containers which stays in the room (like may hotels today). These are tons of plastic thrown every year from your hotel ending up in the ocean while there is a sustainable and easy solution which still keeps us, the costumers, satisfied and happy to not contribute to this destruction of our environment.
I highly recommend this hotel, for its comfort, friendly staff, beautiful decor, the fact that each room is individually decorated and the feeling that you have been specially invited to stay. The restaurant is gourmet heaven!
Good clean, comfortable hotel with really nice, helpful staff. Some of the décor maybe needs to be refreshed but we definitely enjoyed our visit. Very good restaurant too. Interesting walk in the garden and we loved the hotel and garden cats! Only downside - an awkward turn off the main road to get up here.
We stayed here for three nights and had a WARM WELCOME by the young receptionists. The rooms are cosy and the walls are painted with birds. We enjoyed breakfast with the nice gentleman who's helping everybody. I don't even know he is the owner. We enjoyed mostly the 12 km from the hotel along the Charente to the village of Cognac. JUST GREAT. We didnot like the food : the fish with the artichauts was overcooked and my wife had the vegetarian plate. Only the dessert was very good. What you cannot accept is the roomcleaners SMOKING on the firestaircase. It stinks.
