Great little local pub, clean, tidy and comfy, great food and very good value, in a great central location for visiting rural Northumberland. The staff were very friendly and offered their help in every way. Will call again.

Had a great 2 day break. Accomodation very comfy and clean. We were in room 15 which looked out onto the main road so expected some traffic noise but it was fairly quiet. Rooms were refreshed and bed made the next day, even PJs put in bed. Food was excellent would like to stay longer to try out all the... More

When we arrived I did feel a little concerned, but room was clean and we actually had the best two nights sleep of our holiday. Our breakfast especially the second day was also best we have had on our tour of Northumberland. Staff were mostly very helpful and obliging. So all I would say is give The Queens Head a... More

Hi Lottie, Love your analogy lol, and so pleased you enjoyed your stay, the building is a bit formidable when you first see it, like an old "satanic mill" in some respects, wish we could grow roses all over it for a better first impression. Thank you for leaving a review, we very much appreciate it. Teresa More

Day 6 of St Oswalds Way. Obviously a favorite for local folks. Packed in the evening with a function. Always a good sign. Bedroom 3 was excellent - recently refurbished and dining room also suitably refurbished. All meals very good and service with a smile.

Hello, Thank you for leaving us your review so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and hope you enjoyed your walk. Also thanks for being so understanding of the little problem we have with the damp wall in the corridor, still drying out.... Teresa More

Carpets were dirty and threadbare and bar area badly needs updating. Room wasn't too bad and bed was clean, but didn't change towels or Hoover carpet. Breakfast was a disgrace, food burnt and sausage raw inside. Worst place we have ever stayed. Would never go back again.

I have contacted this lady regarding her review as I cannot find her booking. I dont understand the comment about the carpets, we have no dirty threadbare carpets, we change towels when asked as per our room folder information. Two reviews on the same day with totally differing views, the joy of trip advisor. :) More

Stayed for 3 nights here in May. Friendly busy hotel well used by locals and visitors. Room was a bit tired and shabby but clean and quiet. Food in restaurant was a good standard and excellent value. Bar was always busy with live music on one night. Liked it a lot and set in a pretty village with great shops... More

We stayed for two nights at the end of a tour of Northumberland. The hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. On the way to our room, there was an area where the wallpaper had been removed and plaster lay on the carpet. During our stay this was never hoovered. Our room was not serviced properly. The bed was... More

Hello Julie, I am sorry you feel you were dealt with in a rude manner, there was a misunderstanding between the staff and the drinks were added to your bill in error. I think the problem was that the lady you dealt with does not have English as her first language and may have sounded abrupt, but a assure you... More
