Great place to stay in pretty village; excellent breakfast, Very good food available in evenings in pub next door. Large, comfortable bedroom; somewhat antiquated plumbing. Nice and quiet overnight. Visited on cycling trip through north of England; beautiful countryside all around.

I booked two rooms. The standard room had a bed which was so filthy it had to be changed. The superior room had a torn bed which was in a very poor state. If two people lay on it they rolled into the centre. The superior room shower did not drain properly. QUOTE 1: "Don't flush the toilet and use...

We decided to take a tour around the Northumberland area to visit some places we wished to see, we booked The Springfield for two nights. Ideally situated in the charming village of Rothbury which has excellent eating out venues within walking distance. Yes the rooms may be a little tired, but it is obvious that Danielle and Gavin are working...

We recently stayed for 4 nights, lovely friendly people. Very nice that you are asked every morning about what you would like for breakfast. Very nice touch rather than other b and bs where I have stayed and you tick a list at the beginning if your stay. Thank you xx

Myself and 3 friends booked the Springfield several months ago for a 2 night stay in beautiful Northumberalnd. On arrival we were a bit disappointed with how the place looked , shabby paint work and steamed up windows, however the lady who greeted us was lovely and we thought we would be ok. However the rooms though large were in...

We stopped at the Springfield during the music festival in Rothbury and had such a lovely time. The lady that runs the guest house is so friendly. We stayed with our 7 year old son and my partners parents. My in-laws have mobility issues and they were moved into a ground floor room when the owner saw them (I'm really...

A large group of us took over this lovely guest house for the bank holiday weekend for a wedding in Rothbury. Excellent location and the people who own this are so friendly! Very comfortable beds, however the rooms are beginning to look tired. The toilet in bedroom 1 was coming away from the wall and the saniflow system makes quite...

We had such a friendly welcome on arrival and our room was a good size. Unfortunately, though, as it was so hot we had to keep the windows open and were bothered by traffic noise and the church clock chiming during the night. In addition the Saniflow plumbing was noisy. However, the breakfast was delicious and the room rate very...

Stayed here for two nights with children. Room was adequate, children's bed was sofa bed which was hard for them to sleep on, no aircon. Tea coffee facilities and good TV. Staff friendly good choice of breakfast each morning. There was a leaky waste pipe from upstairs which cause a problem in morning. But these things happen but was fixed...
