We booked our stay at the hotel almost like timeshare where we paid up front and had a period of time to take our break in. It is a fair distance from our home in the Midlands so we decided to stay overnight just outside of Kendal and had a good few hours looking around the Lake District and down...

I was treated to three days away for my birthday in between Christmas and New Year. We were warmly greeted after a 5 hour drive and everything was explained to us including where the water comes from (the stream running down the hillside) and what to do for drinking water which was in plentiful supply. We were told that Millie...

My wife and I recently stayed in a lochside wooden lodge with our 3 teenage sons just after New Year for a two night break. On arrival we found no wifi, which was advertised, the plates and mugs were chipped/cracked, the kitchen cupboards were filthy, there were cobwebs in every room, the inlet pipe of the main bathroom leaked, there...

Dear Roddie Thank you for posting our review on trip advisor. I am very sorry you could not get the wi fi to work, however, you were in one of our 3 bedroom lodges, which have a different code to the hotel, this was explained on arrival, I can only assume that you used the wrong code, as every other...

Spent two nights at the Hotel with three days fishing between Christmas and New Year. Sadly the fishing wasn't great but if was about the fish they'd call it "catching". This was a return visit to this prime location fishing base on Loch Awe. An "old style" hotel if you like but still very good. Restaurant with Loch side views...

We recently stayed for 7nights during Xmas/New Year attending the Hogmanay Ball. All I can say is 'WOW' the food was excellent, the accommodation was warm & more than adequate (which is always good as Scotland can be very cold), the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a memorable one. We didnt want to leave but we are...

A lovely hotel which is just a wee bit tired. Full of character features but room was a bit small and cold to start with. Soon sorted by staff. Staff were very friendly, helpful and nice but not enough of them Consequently service - especially at breakfast - could be extremely slow. Hotel is miles from anywhere so transport is...

Stayed in one of the lodges belonging to the hotel. Lodge was clean and tidy but in need of some tlc as dated and fraying round the edges. We kept having a problem with no hot water.
