We stayed here 18th-21st Nov16. There were 2 adults, our 4 year old & our westie dog. After reading reviews we went with the thoughts of, it only cost us £200 from a food fare so we will just make most of it whatever the hotel is like. OMG we were so happy when we got there. We stayed in... More

This hotel needs a cleaner. The carpets are filthy and being 'dog friendly' is no excuse. I overheard people complaining about the long wait in the restaurant, so I didnt bother with the food. They put the tumble dryers situated below my room on at 11pm. Thanks. Linen could have been cleaner too. Bathrooms need proper showers installing. Reading room... More

Dear Ross S Thank you for your review of Portsonachan. I am very puzzled by your comments on the tumble dryers, the tumble dryers are situated in the hotel laundry area, which is closed at 7.00pm and there are no bedrooms above the laundry area. With regard to the carpet in your room, again I am puzzled by you comments,... More

Some woud say this is old fashioned but we would say tradditional, the hotel was very clean warm throughout unlike many we have stayed in . Beds were comfy and nice bedding. The staff and owners couldnt have been more welcoming, the food was great as was the bar with plenty varierties of whisky and gin . The lounge was... More

A lovely, friendly place. The views from our lodge were amazing - it was just stunning. Was so lovely to go on holiday with our dog and have a quality place to stay. We arrived at 1.30 am due to two road closures- but a warm welcome was to hand- the lodge was so cosy. The bar was well stocked... More

Booked this at a local show and yes it is a bit worn but it reminded me of an old aunt who is well loved, we booked in quickly and had Rannoch which was ideal and was fully self contained with disabled facilities with views over the loch. We ate in the restaurant every evening and found the quality of... More

This was our second visit to this hotel and the improvements are very noticeable. The food is still excellent, breakfast warm and filling and the evening menu while basic is very well cooked, good portion size, and tasty. The rooms are now very well appointed and the bathroom was spotless. The bed linen has recently been replaced and the room... More

We have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel, having purchased the deal at a local show. After reading the reviews on here prior to going, we decided to take our 4x4 as apparently the 3 mile track to it was not in good condition-what a load of rubbish. The lane was better maintained than most of... More

This was our third stay at the Portsonachan hotel and we must start by saying the heating has been upgraded and now is fabulous. The food is as before excellent, my wife and I had three nights with different meals each night and they were all excellent. Service was very good and although some redecorating would undoubtedly improve appearance the... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 night but I would say that the places is looking very tired and could do with an upgrade. Also I do not think it is hygienic to have dogs where food is being served and eaten
