This place is absolutely amazing! This was our first time here and we wish we had booked a longer stay! We had the Sentinel room! The room, the view, the terrace…..absolute privacy! I never write reviews, the service was ok….. the restaurants could be better. I had read prior reviews about the service, not being up to par. I agree with that. It seems as if the staff is not trained properly. Overall, it’s a wonderful property and we’ve decided we will visit again next year.

A glorious location and historic building. The private beach alone is a material justification for this splurge as so many of the local beaches are overcrowded with and require a claustrophobic and stressful drive to reach followed by uncertainty of parking and a highly diverse group of bathers making it hard to even walk to the water. Ancient castle walls. Exceptional restaurant. Wonderful sea and sunset views. Though the range of cost is extreme. In September rates were as high as $4100 but then dropped below $1000 in the second half of October and to a low point of $688. Choose your dates carefully.

The property and rooms are gorgeous - a true experience. The morning breakfast is a lovely (& delicious) touch. The beach and pool situation is perfect. The highlight of our stay on Mallorca was definitely a boat charter as well as a 4 hour tour of the island with Jan (previous Cap Rocat concierge). He is just a lovely human who curated a romantic and thoughtful evening for my boyfriend and I. I highly recommend reaching out for Jan (the concierge at the hotel have his info). I pulled down a star on the review as the staff seemed a little green in their experience and could benefit from some customer experience training. They are capable - just came across as inexperienced (i.e. laundry service failed to deliver beach towels one morning.... it happens. We were met with a deer in the headlights "we don't have towels" vs seeing if there were towels available up at the pool, offering a beverage while we waited, apologizing for the inconvenience, etc).

First of all. IGNORE any of the negative reviews on This site. Do not pay attention yo any of them. If you Complain here: you will never be happy. Might as well just stay home. I travel for a living. I am on the road every other week. I stay in great hotels all over the world. This might be the finest hotel I have ever been to. The site is Magical. It’s beyond description. The service is a 15/10. The food everywhere is amazing. Breakfast is amazing. The sea club is extraordinary. Palma is close and incredible. Deia and soller are extraordinary. Whoever decided to turn this into a hotel deserves a medal. WOW.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction - as encouraged by Miss Rosario - with a recent experience at the Hotel Cap Rocat in Mallorca. We chose this esteemed establishment, confident in its 5-star reputation and its promised commitment to customer service. However, our experience did not meet these expectations and, unfortunately, left us with a bitter aftertaste. We had made a reservation at the hotel's restaurant, a place we have come to know and love. Upon making a confirmation call with the hotel, we discovered that there had been an unfortunate mix-up. We sought assistance to rectify the issue and expected the hotel to match our flexibility in finding a suitable solution. Especially because the hotel highlighted that the restaurant we wanted to visit still had a free tablw. However, to our dismay, Miss Rosario, the staff member we spoke to, was dismissive and refused to assist us further. Despite our longstanding patronage and the fact that we had dined at this very restaurant twice in the last week, Miss Rosario failed to acknowledge the situation's gravity and the potential impact on our relationship with the hotel. She not only refused to offer a solution but also consulted the hotel manager twice, who, we understand, endorsed this regrettable stance, which left is in quite a disbelief. Our disappointment lies not just in the initial mix-up - mistakes can happen anywhere - but in the lack of initiative and empathy displayed in handling the situation. We thought the team at the Hotel Cap Rocat understood the essence of customer service and valued its regular customers, but our recent experience stands as a stark contradiction to this belief. Given the reputation of Hotel Cap Rocat, the indifference shown to us was, to say the least, startling. It has notably tainted our perception of the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. What was most disconcerting was the hotel's proposal, after a protracted three-hour phone conversation, to cancel our reservation entirely just 45 minutes prior to our booked time and when we were en route to the hotel. This was proposed instead of simply relocating us to the available table in our preferred restaurant. We had believed that the Hotel Cap Rocat set the bar for excellent customer service, but this incident has, unfortunately, tarnished that image. We hope that our feedback will motivate the hotel to reevaluate its customer service policies and treat similar situations with the due consideration they deserve in the future. Sincerely, Ekaterina Derkatch

Dear Mrs. Derkatch, First of all, we want to thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we truly appreciate the feedback, especially from our repeat guests. I am happy that you enjoyed the prior experiences at the Sea Club restaurant, but I trully regret to read about your impresión on our profesional team, which did their best to find a solution, even though, unfortunately, we were not able to offer you a table at the Sea Club restaurant the day that you intended to come. I hope you could give us another oportunity to redeem this bad impression. Kind regards, Antonia Rullán House Manager Cap Rocat

I was here for only one night as part of a cycling trip, but this property was just outstanding in every way. The room are gorgeous and the setting cannot be described. It literally was jaw-dropping. If I had known how incredible this place was, I would have quit cycling early to spend more time here. We had dinner here at the gorgeous restaurant down by the sea and it was delicious. This is on my list for a return visit!

One of the most beautiful holidays we ever had ! We chose to celebrate my birthday in Cap Rocat and every detail from our arrival until our departure was perfect. The staff is highly qualified and delivers the 5 stars service expected. The location is perfect : Palma is 15 min drive from the hotel. The hotel itself is designed with perfection and everything in the room is thought to be comfortable and convenient. The quality of the food truly met our expectations. And the spa allows you a relaxing getaway. Thank you to every staff member you made this trip unforgettable. Cap Rocat is special because of the heart you put in the service you provide. Thank you 🙏

We arrived for dinner at the sea club restaurant, wow what an amazing set up, truly breathtaking! The service, staff, and food was 10/10, absolutely faultless. The restaurant was in a cliff with amazing views and beautiful at dusk, I will return for lunch the next time I visit Mallorca. We eat in lots of wonderful restaurants but this takes some beating, excellent food and wonderfully hot (I was worried the food would be cold sitting outside)and staff were so quick and attentive. Well done!

Beautiful historic unique architectural surroundings, a very special place. Staff lovely although sometimes quite hard to track down! Food incredible, would be nice to have more vegan/veggie options but they accommodated. Tranquil perfection.

Please read if you are thinking about staying here: We have stayed here for 3 years in a row, So I do think I can say I can give an constructive and honest review about this hotel. The property is absolutely breathtaking it’s really beautiful, I guess you ended up reading the reviews because firstly it is very pricey but you saw the pictures so you think it’s might worth it, Well I’m going to tell you it’s unfortunately not, And I’m also sad to say it because this property has amazing potential but is just runned by the wrong management ( I’m not the only one complaining also when you read the reviews on google) We always thought ( previous years) that it had minor things that were just not up to standards, But because the property is so beautiful we forgot about them, But this year it was just one big nightmare.. The staff almost completely changed, You see they are not properly trained ( most of them don’t even greet you) the staff at the pool is one big joke, They have a button you can press for service but they just don’t come, There is no one to be found at the pool, You just have to wait until someone shows up, The window of our room was completely broken, We mentioned it twice to them as we thought it could be dangerous but no one even came back to us, The room was filled with insects ( i know it’s an old fortress inside of a nature reserve) but come on, I have had tons of ants ( see the photos), Caterpillars, And even a snail inside of the room.. The rooms smell so badly, It just doesn’t feel and look hygienic, They really could do a refurbishment, Also the shower was going from extremely hot to cold every time. Don’t even try the food at Seaclub, The view is again: spectacular but the food is sososo bad, Not even mentioning the staff, Really don’t go there!! When checking out I told them that I was really upset as a loyal client and that this year was just a very bad experience for us, But the lady just stared at me and was like “ oh ok”. They don’t care about there loyal customer, They just want cash and to have their rooms filled, They don’t care if you are not having a good time, It’s just one big money machine, Management is awful. We first went to Grand hotel Cap Vermell and it was just wonderfull, Really such a good and amazing hotel, Go here instead of spending your hard earned money to these people who just want to grab it and don’t care if you enjoyed the experience.

Response from Cap Rocat, General Manager at Cap Rocat
Responded Sep 7, 2022
Dear travelloverr90, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us, we truly appreciate the feedback. We strive to ensure that each one of our suites is maintained to the highest standard, so I am disappointed to read that we may have fallen short. We have a large housekeeping team who are well trained by the department manager, who personally inspects each suite before check in. You are correct when you mention that we work within a protected nature reserve and for this reason do not use pesticides, as other hotels might, but I do apologize that you felt we were not up to standard. I am sorry that you felt that there was not enough staff at the pool deck, this issue has been resolved and we have one staff member just to deliver food from the kitchen and another who can attend to clients. Cap Rocat is a historical property which requires constant maintenance, and the manager of this department understands the challenges well as has been in charge of the refurbishment and the up keep of the property for 20 years. We close the hotel for months in the winter when the walls are treated and the maintenance team works constantly around the year to protect the property from the elements and respect the heritage of the building. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with regard to the temperature of the water in the shower. We no longer rely on city water mains which can affect the water pressure. We are self-sufficient with our own water source and have installed a desalination system. Nothing could be more important to us than the satisfaction of a loyal guest, such as yourself, who has returned year after year. Thank you again for your feedback. I am very sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations and would love the opportunity to regain your trust. Please let me know the next time you are planning on visiting the island and I’ll make sure that your stay not only meets, but exceeds your expectations. Thank you and on behalf of all of the staff at Cap Rocat, I wish to welcome you back in the near future. Kind regards, Antonia Rullán House Manager Cap Rocat
