Detailed Reviews
we stayed at Bunyonyi Safaris Resort for 3 nights while visiting the gorillas. the tracking is about 1 1/2 hours drive away but easy to manage. We stood in one of the cottages, they give you more privacy. we enjoyed having our meals at the terrasse. best thing is to order food always ahead (ie after breakfast you order lunch etc.). the hotel has a gym at the rooftop and a very nice pool. we enjoyed a boat ride one afternoon. Burnet helped us very much with organizing all our activities in advance (gorilla tracking, volcano hiking) and Evelyne at the reception was very helpful with all the information we needed. we plan to go back there with our kids and then stay in a family suite!

I stayed here for one night. I arrived via the lake. I took the canoe most of the way, then swam the remainder. I checked in to the hotel soaking wet and in just swim trunks, and the staff was still very welcoming and helpful. Meron showed me to my room and told me about the hotel, she was very kind. Dinner was delicious, and it was great to try the local cray fish. Wifi is fast and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I recommend staying here.

If you want a fun place this is it. This is what it was built for. They rock it. They do loud music. Food isn’t great. Large parking makes it ideal for parties. The tower structure is a little eyesore on the shores of the serene Lake Bunyonyi.

I was at Lake Bunyonyi safaris in mid-January and this was my second time though it had been a while and being the start of the year I guess there was minimal occupancy.
A friend suggested this exquisite resort in Kabale and went for it. First of all, the orders took forever to be served even when there were a few guests. As if that wasn't enough later in the evening when we thought of retiring and freshening up, the water heater wasn't functioning and this was at around 10 pm. Now this is where my frustration began. I tried calling the reception for an alternative. I knew it was quite late and all I asked for was a bucket 🪣 or basin so I could boil water since there was a kettle I'm the room. To my surprise a staff who goes by the name Bill picked up while I narrated my situation and to my surprise he said there was nothing he could do since they had already closed and he couldn't check me in a room that had a functioning heater because his salary would be chopped or he wouldn't be paid. Please note that being a rainy season the location of the resort, it was pretty cold. Later this staff said that they had forgotten to turn on the water heater and so he had done so, so the water would be warm in a minute but still nothing. Short story he later found me a basin this is like after an hour and I boiled water to shower. Mind u this guy didn't even apologize for any inconvenience all he said was his supervisors would be mad at him if he checked me in another room that had a functioning heater or he wouldn't be paid. I went to bed when I was so mad and disappointed. Besides the poor service, bunyonyi Safari Resort has epic views of the lake at least from the room I had checked in. Otherwise, I am never going back to Bunyonyi Safari Resort like never.

I stayed at this hotel from 20th august to 21st august, initially i had come only for the swimming pool but one gentleman at the reception was so friendly and well spoken and we decided to take a room and spend a night.
The gentleman who checked us in told us that an extra bed for our 5 yr old son would be chargable but he would give us a babycot at no cost which we obviously thought was complimentary same as the different hotels we have been to.
We were heading to the pool and he promised that it would be placed in the room.
We had a great time at the pool, in the sauna and enjoyed our fish as the final bit.
The guy who served us was really fantastic.
We headed to our room at around 9pm and we found no babycot placed.
We told the waiter that had escorted us with our pizza to tell them send our babycot of which we waited for 1 hr and no one was coming.
I decided to go down myself and thats when the lady there told that its chargable at 10 dollars or 35,000 ugshs and that the guy who promised me didnt know maybe.
I was soooo disappointed for such a big hotel to charge for a babycot that should be complimentary and more so not informing me at checkin.
My trip here with my family had been the best but that ruined everything.
I wrote my dissatisfaction in the file that u put in the room, hope u saw it too.
So anyone coming with kids to this hotel, be ready to pay for babycot!!!

We couldn't sleep because there was music and party at full volume. Do not come to this hotel if you intend to sleep. We went to reception to ask them to stop the music and they didn't pay attention. We have come a long way and need to rest. We are definitely in the wrong place. They should not accept bookings if there are having a party

We are in a group for 7 days at Bunyonyi Safaris. The landscape has beautiful scenery. with a good mind-relieving atmosphere. Their rooms are spacious with each with a good view of the lake. The meals are good and never fade their taste. There are leisure activities around the hotel that can occupy you after your day. The hotel has a football team with which we had a friendly match during our stay. All their workers are friendly and make you feel at home. We enjoyed the Bunyonyi home away from home.

The manager, receptionist and waiters were all efficient and friendly. Rooms were clean with spectacular views from the Chalets. Every request was met immediately. Food well presented and good standard. My family and I have now visited on two occasions and will most certainly return.
