Gorilla Mist Camp is the best place in Bwindi. It was very good to stay over here and it was our first stay overall the property is very good nice decorated Lobby, self-contained rooms, 24/7 working restaurant and bar with International dishes, We enjoyed packed Lunch as we were heading for our Gorilla Trekking. The Airstrip pick up by the camp vehicle (Pajero), the facility is super clean with fresh green environment. I'll recommend Gorilla Mist Camp to every one planning for a tour in there. You won't regret,
We had a poor time here, probably not helped by the fact that the hotels we had stayed in before were all excellent. Our first room had a broken toilet seat, shower and door handle for the bathroom. We got flea bites all over the first night. We requested a change the second night and things got marginally better. There was no wifi throughout. And the soft drinks, despite not having a fridge to cool them, were outrageously overpriced compared to much more luxurious places in Uganda. Perhaps the only saving grace was the view and the staff, who did their best and were very nice throughout, but clearly not equipped to handle the place. The hot water bottles at night were also a nice touch.
Mist camp is at the highest point of Ruhija which is one of the highest mountains in Bwindi. Not surprising that the view from this lodge is mind-blowing: to the west the sun sets over ridge after ridge of Gorilla inhabited forestedmountains of the National Park; to the south you can see the three towering volcanoes in nearby Mgahinga National Park, part of the Virunga range straddling the borders of Uganda, Rwanda and D.R. Congo. The spectacular location does mean that this is probably the windiest and coldest place I have visited (so far) in Uganda - bring warm clothes! As to the lodges facilities - I can't really say much, I visited shortly after U ganda came out of Covid lockdown and the place was going through a thorough rennovation. The food was great, bed comfortable, staff helpful - I have no complaints.…
