We are a family run resort nestled in a hidden corner by lake Kivu, in the country of a thousand hills(Rwanda). Here you'll find peace, Serenity and lots of rest.
The boutique resort is very serene and scenic in its setting. I loved the complimentary sauna as well, but the menu was very expensive, and the quality wasn't as good as what I had experienced in Kigali, for much less.
I was hoping, I'll see a lot more experimentation with fish, seeing as the resort is right on Lake Kivu.
The internet was also not really strong after the second floor, and that dampened my experience a bit.

We recently travelled as a large group (~25 people). The property is nestled in a beautiful cove on Lake Kivu. The rooms all face the lake for fantastic views. The staff was wonderful. Our room was very spacious and very clean. The restaurant/bar is very comfortable - we ate on the veranda daily. We typically had a buffet for both breakfast and dinner and they were so accommodating when we were late (which we were on 2 different occasions.) They have access to all amenities including sailing/boat rides on Lake Kivu. I would definitely recommend this as a place to vacation.

Beautifully situated in a quiet bay, with stunning views across Lake Kivu. All the rooms have views over the lake, and the bar / terrace is on the lake. The food is great - if on the slightly more expensive end for the town.
The views and the terrace is what really makes the place.
There is also a jetty and a small 'beach' where we swam (the water in Lake Kivu is warm) as well as a sauna and a walk to a children's playground and gym area with table tennis, running / rowing machine. This is all within the estate.
The staff are friendly and efficient, if on the slightly formal side.

The hotel with beautiful location all the rooms are clean and have views over the lake but the toilets were in very very very bad condition. No hot water, water leaks, etc, The restaurant has a good breakfast with fresh fruit, The Deinnre took 3hr + to serve and was very expensive and must be paid in dollars. not recommended to have hotel food. the staff was extremely helpful, and a very nice welcome with a free juice.

This hotel probably used to be worthy of the name “Resort”, however today the hotel has lost much of it’s glory. The staff is very friendly and the food is very nice, however the rooms and bathrooms can use a good upgrade. When you walk behind the conference hall, there is a path leading you to a beach volleyball field, tennis field, big terras with a pingpong table, kitchen area,… all abandoned. 😞 You can even see abandoned boats in the lake. If this would have been put to use, I think the Resort would become a highly recommended place. But in this current state, would not recommend for $150/night as there are nicer places in the area for that price.

Beautiful location with comfortable rooms on the shores of Lake Kivu. We only stayed one night, but would love to return. Our rooms had a terrace looking out onto the lake. Well-appointed rooms. Good service. Good food.
There was an issue with the wifi - it took hours to connect. Once connected it was good service, but strange that it took so long to jump on.

By far the best food in Kibuye, great service and high quality facilities combined with a great view and lots of space to expore while waiting. Especially the scenic viewpoint and the playground are great for families. Reasonable priced for the value you get.

My partner and I spent 24 hours at Lake Kivu on the fifth day of our Rwanda trip, which happened to be Christmas Eve. Our room in Moriah Hill Resort was clean and quiet with an ensuite bathroom, mini bar fridge, TV and an amazing view. We spent the day watching otters fishing, birding and walking along the water’s edge.
In the evening, Moriah Hill Resort laid on a delicious Christmas Eve buffet, the fish brochettes were especially yum and there was even live music to get us in the festive spirit.

Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and overlooking Lake Kivu, this is lovely place to stay.
The rooms are clean and neat with an en-suite bathroom, a mini bar fridge, a TV and a superb lake view.
The panoramic restaurant serves very good food but service for food tends to be slow - this seems to be the norm in Rwanda and is not isolated to Moriah Hill Resort. The good thing is that there is an impressive selection of excellent local beers to sample while you wait. The Waragi Gin from Uganda and the African tea are also both excellent! Breakfast is abundant.
Sunsets are magnificent over the lake...best enjoyed with pre-dinner drinks in the lake view bar and the delicious peanuts that accompany them.
Moriah Hill Resort offers a boat trip on Lake Kivu which stops at one of the islands. This is definitely worth doing. It was a great experience.
Thank you for a great stay!

We visited Moriah for lunch and it was disappointing. The service was so terrible one would think the place was teeming with people and the waiters were overwhelmed.
That was not the case, there were only two parties and the waiters couldn't be bothered to ask for our orders. For those prices, the management should really go out of their way to look after its guests.

We stayed here before beginning a cycling trip on the Congo Nile cycle trail. We didn't go on on organised boat trip but got a boat back from the other side of the lake due to the fact that the public boat service had broken down. The price we were quoted was reasonable so I think the price for a shorter tip would be also.
There are more places to choose from in the Kibuye area.
