I was travelling with my wife to see family in Llantwit Major area for four nights from 15th November to 19th.. the stay was on a bed and breakfast basis ... The hotel was well placed for the purpose being just outside the town centre. there was also a good sized car park directly opposite. We stayed in room 14... More

If you're in Llantwitt Major for the night (or a couple) the West House is a quiet spot with a B&B feel. It's a family-run establishment with that sort of warm hospitality that's lacking in most places. If you're into modern establishments you'll be disappointed as the hotel is dated but reasonably maintained. It's only 5 minutes to the village... More

Nice hotel in a quiet location. The property used to be an old Manor House, room we stayed in had been modernised. Good shower, clean, bed soft, lots of parking. No restaurant in evenings but plenty of close pubs around. Breakfast bacon had seen better days, but rest was good. Nice local walks. Bar had good prices in evening.

Our first visit to this lovely little hotel right in the heart of historic Llantwit Major Staff were very welcoming, the room was spacious and very comfortable and the cost was excellent value for money. A lovely old house and gardens and a great hotel

Nice quiet hotel within easy walking distance of village. The room had two single beds (OK it was single occupancy) but would have preferred a double and there was very little room to move around. Modern bathroom and excellent shower. Two criticisms. Firstly they 'lock up' at 22.30 which means leaving the bar and going to your room! There is... More

Lovely location. A bit tired in places, friendly staff, clean. Breakfast a bit hit and miss. Would stay again. Couldn't get WiFi , very poor signal strength. Facilities were basic. The beer in the bar not the best.

There is no other option in Llantwit Major but to stop here. The shame is that with a bit of attention to detail this could be a very good. As it is, it is average. Our first night was in the back extension. The Windows hadn't been open despite it being a lovely day so it smelt stuffy and stale.... More

If you like bland identikit hotels, this isn't the place for you. If you like fabulous Welsh hospitality and somewhere with a bit of character, give it a go. Lovely, friendly staff, clean room in a pretty setting and a great breakfast. Can't see what's not to like.

We stayed last weekend and enjoyed the wedding, the hotel itself and the surrounding area. Llantwit was a major surprise for us and we loved the walk to the seaside and some beer and food at the local pubs. The locals were very friendly. A very good Welsh breakfast in the morning and a lovely selection of local beers and... More

My husband and I booked a one night stay at this lovely little country hotel as we were attending a friend's birthday party nearby. We weren't expecting much as I'd read that the interior was quite dated and tired looking. I completely disagree with these views and we were pleasantly surprised. Whilst I agree that it appears a little dated,... More
