I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Tugu Blitar in late May, staying in one of the rooms OTHER THAN the high-end suites of the original building. My room was serviceable, period. The space was limited, if adequate. The shower was in a wet room that was separated from the vanity a bit. There was no safe, luggage rack, or... More

The staffs were so kind and friendly. In addition, there was a lot of things that we can not find in ordinal city hotels (the room where the first president Sukarno stayed, a Javanese traditional old-fasshioned tea space and etc...). Although the facillity looks old to need maintenance, this hotel should be a good place If you want to feel... More

Lovely little place, very authentic. Good food, rooms are a bit small but somehow it belongs to this hotel. Bathroom was small and more like the Mandi shower style. I stayed in an ordinary room, maybe the deluxe or suites do have more space and better bathroom facilities. I enjoyed my stay! Friendly and helpful staff.

Summary: we loved this hotel and its friendly and caring staff. The hotel is a colonial masterpiece stuffed with antiquities from Indonesia and is worth visiting even if one plans to not spend a night. We were given Room 7, a large room with an amazing four- poster bed – one so high that they provide step- stools to get... More

Hotel Tugu Blitar is a special destination when visiting the small Javanese town of Blitar. From the moment you enter, you'll notice the attention to detail and the efforts to maintain a place where the first president of Indonesia often stayed. Ask the front desk to let you see his favorite room (#9 in the main building). The standard rooms... More

There's not much good hotel in Blitar (as it's a very small city). and Tugu Hotel simply nail it to be the best on that region. Offering a colonial theme fused within a luxury framework of traditional Javanese - Tugu Hotel Blitar really makes her mark to be the finest hotel in Blitar. Still equipped with impeccable service standart of... More

Tugu Hotel is just excellent. Comfortable and spacy rooms, stylish interior. Very good and fairly priced food at the restaurant. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is centrally located in Blitar but our room was perfectly quiet.

Former Dutch colonial administrative building turned into a marvelous hotel. A very impressive example of the period as well with long collonades and tree lined enterance. More impressive still is that some of the original art deco period peices from the time are still there and in functioning (check out the metal lamps - masterpeices...). Staff is sweet and always... Its management apparently taken over by the Tugu group, whose flagship is the historic hotel in Malang, this Tugu in Blitar is an economy-priced chance to stay in a mid-19th-century property with great character and no snobbish pretensions. Originally a local aristocrat's mansion, the compound has a street-side building with two two areas divided by a vine-decked old carriage-way. It... More

Tugu Blitar was one of our main reasons to visit Blitar. It has a wonderful history. Perfect to wind down and take it very easy. Do pick a room in the main building and pay a bit more.
