The Zoëtry Mallorca hotel, built within the stately historic manor of Sa Torre in the fourteenth century, has been restored with the greatest attention to detail to achieve the perfect balance between the traditional style of a Mallorcan manor house and the modern style and comfort of an international hotel. The property also includes other historic buildings such as the windmill, dating back to the fifteenth century, and the neo-Gothic chapel "La Gran Cristiana". Featuring a world-class spa, this haven offers the ideal setup for relaxation in addition to enriching activities such as golf or cycling, and even a venue for groups & conventions. The hotel is 15 minutes away by car from Palma International Airport (PMI) and 20 minutes from the centre of Palma. Nearby attractions include the Maioris and Son Antem Golf Clubs, Mhares Sea Club, the Bordoy Bodega, Aqualand Park, Palma Aquarium, cycling routes, and the famous beaches of Es Trenc, Ses Covetes and Cala Pi.

Earlier reviews are deluded, we were so impressed. When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a glass of fizz, stunned by the beautiful building. Ricardo efficiently took us to our suites, which were large and airy. There are two lovely pools service is amazing. How the small bar kitchen can turn out the amazing dishes such as the best chicken skewers, guacamole and you must try the cinnamon ice cream – massive thank you to Ivan and his team who were so attentive. The main bar is great, Juan and Sammy made superb cocktails. The breakfast is one of the best I have had in any hotel with exhaustive buffet, they also do hot al-a-carte. My wife loved the avo toast, our teenage girls adored the pancakes. Dinner is excellent, Moses leads a lean team, they all charming and welcoming. There is a tasteful jazz ensemble every night. Ana organised an amazing never-to-forget hot air balloon ride, a visit to a local vineyard and hired bikes so we could visit Cala Pi. Thanks to the Zoetry team who all work long hours to make guests stay as perfect as possible, opt for the endless privileges package it’s more than worth it. I wanted to give Zoetry 5/5, but my wife insisted 4, this is not due to the resort, but to the leanness of the staff – this is a real call to management to please put in extra staff because the excellent team can’t continue to work at the pace whilst giving guests a magical experience. See you in 2023!!

My stay was a business purpose and I have to admit that I was already thinking to schedule another stay for private. This is an amazing resort with a high level of service very customized. A waitress is always available for any kind of demand. From the beginning to the very end of my stay, this person was at my service. Amazing

My husband and I stayed one week at this stunning hotel. We were nervous beforehand due to some poor reviews re service and food. We have stayed at some very nice hotels and eaten at many Michelin star restaurants so we know good food. We need not have worried. Apart from one lunchtime at the pool bar where it was exceptionally busy the service was prompt, friendly and fabulous. Big shout out to the wonderful bar manager at the pool bar, works his butt off and offers 5* service. - by day 3 he would bring us a large white wine and G&T ( with cucumber)! as soon as he saw us sit down (but whilst serving others ) Thank you- you are amazing. The whole hotel is breathtaking. I was totally bowled over. The manager Susanne was present and we had several lovely chats. I cannot wait to return. Thankyou everyone you are all wonderful.

What a place! Quietly placed in the middle of nowhere. It really is stunning; both inside and in all outdoor areas. And it smells amazing! Had a memorable one night stay here as part of an island explore trip. The team are all very polite and welcoming; the service was always timely and with a smile. We hired their bikes and on their advice cycled 10k to Cala Pi (car parking there would have been a nightmare). Took 30 mins each way and was a lovely way to spend a few hours. Otherwise we chilled at the pools. Will definitely return 🤞🏻

We booked this trip Monday and arrived on Tuesday. This was a bet and not a cheap one either. But what a nice surprise to arrive in these stunning surroundings. The Zoetry is a beautiful boutique hotel. In this property you will find attention to details. A very friendly staff - yes they work a lot as some reviews point out but they are all so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast has a wide variety. Rooms are large and nice. Pool bar serves really good food and snacks. The hotel is located away from loud beach tourism (as anyone can see on Google maps). But we would prefer the quiet and take our rental car to town when we need loud music, many people, and the beach. The hotel has everything you need. Two large pool areas, restaurant, bar, gym and sports activities. I can highly recommend this hotel.

We had a very relaxing week at Zoetry Mallorca; it has a very calm and quiet atmosphere. The food was excellent with live music every night and the staff looked after us very well (?Ivanko at the pool bar). Ana provides helpful advice on local tours and it was a pleasant surprise to find that exercise classes and yoga were on offer. Both Bernard and Joshua were excellent teachers! We hope to return again

We had an awful stay at this hotel as a family of 5 with 3 young children. This culminated in them threatening us with uniformed civilian police because we complained and disputed the bill. I would not advise booking this hotel if you are a family with children or if you like doing things outside your resort. This hotel is COMPLETELY ISOLATED. There is no pedestrian access to allow you to walk anywhere. You need a hire car or a taxi/private transfer to get anywhere. It’s in the middle of the countywide and none of the rooms have any sort of view. The hotel itself is extremely short staffed. On our last day there was no porter to help with our luggage so the reception staff had to bring our luggage (we have a photograph to prove this). For breakfast or by the pool they have 1 person serving so service is extremely slow. Our room was the ponent suite. It consists of a double bed plus a sofa bed connected by a small corridor. Our room was a decent size but it had major problems in it - namely no running water intermittently and an unsafe electrical point in the bathroom that gave my wife an electrical shock on our first day. They provided a battered old ironing board, a faulty iron, a damaged baby cot and no baby bath or steriliser. For dining the options are extremely limited. I would not advise eating at this hotel or using their ‘endless privileges’ offer because you’ll have a very limited menu to choose from and if you’re vegetarian then there is nothing at all on offer except for a vegetarian burger. There are 2 pools - an adults only pool and a ‘family pool’. However most people choose to sit around the family pool because it is closest to the bar area and it’s easier to get served. As a family with small children it’s therefore impossible to find a space around the pool. You aren’t allowed to go to the adults only pool where there are plenty of spaces and no space around the family pool especially with shade. When we made a verbal and written complaint to the manager nothing was done. We continued to have intermittent running water and an unsafe electrical point in the room, along with no baby bottle steriliser. We were stuck at the hotel and therefore had no choice but to book a private transfer at a cost of 97 Euros to Palma each way. Alternatively we would have needed 2 taxis (in Majorca a maximum of 4 people per taxi is the law). When we complained to the manager our complaint fell on deaf ears. We spoke with someone called Ana Rubio (Guest experience manager) and also escalated the complaint to the general manager in an email. No response was made and no alternative rooms were offered. On our last day we tried disputing the charges but we were offered absolutely nothing. In fact on the morning of the check out the hotel had already placed a security guard along with 2 civilian police officers in the lobby to intimidate us. We had to settle the bill in full and have to now submit a separate claim for losses via our credit card company. I can’t actually believe they used these tactics against a family. This hotel used to be run by Hilton and it has only just re-opened under new management. I really wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here as it is extremely poor value for money. It is by no means ‘5 stars’ and they really don’t provide any information about how isolated they are. The menu is very limited and the spa is very poor. I really hope this hotel closes down so they don’t have to put other families through what we went through. There’s no way they should take any more bookings when they treat people this way.

The hotel has a great hard product but is set back by evident staff shortages: there was initially no one to greet us on arrival, phone calls were never answered by reception and the cocktail bar in the lovely courtyard can only be staffed once a week on a Saturday. The staff clearly work hard to make up for these seemingly inevitable shortfalls in the post covid world but with the result that there lacks a certain air of calm or grace about how the hotel conducts its customer service. If you’re thinking about coming here I’d recommend saving your money and returning next year when they have had time to scale up their recruitment and provide better training to their staff. The rooms are lovely and the pool areas are great (you never need to worry about reserving pool space). In sum, this hotel provides a five star property with a four star service. Hopefully they manage to sort out the service side of the business soon!

Location – the hotel is quite isolated, and has no access to public transport other than taxis. We had in our minds that we could walk to the beach, but at about 3 miles, and considering the heat during the day, it did not happen. There is no longer a shuttle bus to the beach. Our solution was to hire bikes (the land is typically flat so no issues there), with a basic bike costing 14 euros for the first day (reducing as you rent further days), and an ebike at 26 euros (TBV). Cycle helmets were extra, at 2 euros per day. I took a puncture repair kit, but unfortunately, no pump was available to take on a ride, so the repair kit was not much use. Car hire is available through the hotel, and we were quoted about 160 euros for the first day of hire, so, as we were away to relax, we used a taxi to go to Palma (40 euros each way), and two days of cycle hire. We used the bikes to visit the following places: “Vi Rei” vineyard for a wine tasking (check which day the tour is in your chosen language); “Talaiots at Capocorb Vell” historic site from about 1000 bc; has a quaint bar where you can get coffee, beer, and some food. “Cala Pi” cove & beach; a lovely creek, but the beach gets busy as there are lots of dwellings at the top of the path down to the cove; “Capo Blanco” lighthouse & path, not a great deal here, so include it if you are in the area; “Ca’s Busso” restaurant; calm, with a pleasant setting; “Mhares Sea Club” , near Puigderros. we looked at the rocky beach from afar, rather than visit the club itself, as the approach is down a steep road, and of course, the return is up a very steep road ! Staff – the staff were pleasant, and always very helpful, whether it was arranging extras at the hotel, bringing food, attending to food, all were excellent. We have been learning Spanish, and they were very encouraging, and always keen to help. Ambiance – a very relaxed atmosphere, there are pools for families, and adults only. The inside of the ‘old’ buildings are done in a very tasteful way, and we were impressed by the fabric of the building and the artefacts in the various rooms. Our room was in the main building (having chosen to go for a ’basic’ room), with no terrace, but it was a good size, and we were very comfortable there. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, and the pods were replaced every day. There was a minibar with mini bottles, I’m sure that you’re familiar with this. Dining – there are various parts of that hotel that you can eat, the pool bar (until 18:00) , the tapas restaurant, the traditional restaurant. The pool bar is informal and you can get beefburgers etc. Dining at the other restaurant is more like dining out, with an similar price tag. Bearing in mind that you are in a reasonably exclusive hotel, the prices should not come as a shock, and it you intend eating three courses, then an upgrade to half board (at 35 euros per person, per day) is advised. We dined outside every night and there was live music provided from about 20:30. This contributed to a nice ambiance, and we felt that this was a bonus. There is a gym (new equipment), two tennis courts (astro turf), a full-sized football pitch (!) yoga is held in the chapel (weddings permitting), and there is a dust route at the back of the hotel grounds for those who wish to run (a circuit is about one kilometre).

I sent this email to front desk nearly two weeks ago (they could not give me the manager’s email address) and have not yet heard a response so I thought it would be sensible to post here. Please note I have left a lot out of this email and have tried to be as polite as possible! Dear Ms Turowski, (note I only found out the managers name by searching for her on LinkedIn - the staff would not tell me her name) I'm afraid I am writing to complain about my recent stay at Zoetry Mallorca. I stayed for one week and unfortunately had a number of unpleasant experiences. Primarily, it is clear that the hotel is extremely understaffed. The wait times for food were ridiculous. We would sit down and wait for up to an hour for anyone to come round and ask us our drinks order at dinner. We then had significant waits to order food and again for the food to arrive. Breakfast was only slightly better (though one day I gave up on even trying to get a cooked breakfast). Our first night was ruined by the wait time and the subsequent exasperation/rudeness of the staff (who were clearly only rude as they were so stressed). There was only one person taking orders for over 10 tables. The wait times/lack of service at the pool bar were also very bad. There was a group of 16 people on the Friday discussing how terrible our collective experiences had been. This was not an isolated incident. One couple had been to Zoetry for four years in a row (most recently last September) and told us how dramatically the standards had fallen. I would like to know why many of the bars are now closed, why the menu never changed, and why the food quality was so variable. When we went to check out, we were told that we should have come to reception after every incident so that something could be done. I understand this logic but we had simply decided to try and ignore the issues and enjoy our week and then discuss our problems when we checked out. Also, as the main issue was lack of staff, we knew going to reception would be useless as they wouldn't be able to conjure staff out of thin air. One of the couples we spoke to had in fact been to reception and complained and they still went to bed without food. The receptionist we spoke to could only take a few drinks of our bill as compensation. She said she could do no more as the manager was not in. We were told the manager (yourself) did not work evenings or weekends so there was nothing more that could be done. The problems with our stay are clearly a management issue that needs to be resolved. The overworked staff are suffering greatly because you have let them down (we even heard of a staff walk-out on one evening). I felt so sorry for the receptionist after I left; I'd been close to tears and very annoyed by the experience, and I realised she must have had to deal with much more emotional (and possibly aggressive) guests constantly (she informed us that the complaints we raised were familiar to them). It is not fair on the staff; you should have been there. It is a shame as the setting is beautiful and many of the staff were brilliant. I'm confident every member of staff would be just as brilliant if they had additional help. For you this is simply a negative review, for me this is the main event of the year ruined and a precious memory tainted. At minimum I expect an apology and explanation. I look forward to a prompt response.
