The location is awesome; about a 10 min drive to the park entrance. The view from the rooftop patio of Cotopaxi is unbelievable. We were with a large group and the staff handled us well. The food was delicious and timely. The rooms were spacious tho I was jealous of the back house's rooms; they had stoves in the rooms, themselves. The bathrooms and showers were so cool I want to remodel my bathroom in the same manner haha. Definitely a remote, peaceful location worth staying at.
It is certainly remote and getting there on the unsaved roads is exciting, but the building is fantastic and the views even better. The staff are super friendly. We arrived around lunchtime and had a simple lunch before venturing into the park for the first time. The hotel is very cozy and our woodburning stove kept the room toasty warm. Dinner was lovely and not expensive. We awoke the following morning to a gorgeous view of a sun drenched Cotopaxi filling the view from the windows. A good breakfast to send us on our way the next day. Really enjoyed it
Locates at the north gate of Cotopaxi national park. But need to access some unpaved road first. Facility is good and fireplace is good. Room includes big windows that can easily view Cotopaxi mountain. Staffs are warm and nice. Great experience for us
This is a newish building done in a beautiful classic hacienda style. It is considerably more attractive than nearby Tambopaxi. Our room had a great view of Cotopaxi which is important as the volcano spends a lot of time hiding in the clouds, but this changes very quickly so it was good to be able to keep an eye on it for the perfect photo opportunity. On the downside it is pretty expensive for Ecuador especially once you factor in getting there and away (no public transport). We were never given much in the way of information about either the hacienda or the surroundings. I was also disappointed that drinking water was not available for refills. Surely it is important to limit the use of small plastic bottles and I consider potable water to be as essential a thing to supply as a bed or pillow.…
The hotel is perfect for visiting Cotopaxi. The interior with every corner or every wall reveals one more item, be it a Venetian Carnivale mask or model car chosen by its owner. My room was on a corner with floor to ceiling windows with views of two volcanoes.
