AluaVillage Fuerteventura emerges as a tranquil getaway, with its secluded and picturesque location lauded by many travelers, although it's not proximate to central areas or the beach. While the rooms are often applauded for their cleanliness and space, some visitors have remarked on dated aesthetics and occasional upkeep issues. The hotel's additional costs have led to concerns about value. Amenities, including pristine pools and diverse dining options, are generally well-received, despite some comments on brisk pool temperatures and entertainment that caters mainly to a French audience. Service is recognized for its politeness, but the inconsistency and perceived bias toward French-speaking guests have been noted. Overall, the establishment maintains a reputation for cleanliness, with the majority of facilities meeting guests' expectations.

This hotel is lovely. The design and layout of the buildings is really good considering it's essentially built into the hillside. Yes it's hilly, that's the geography of the area so if that's not suitable for you, perhaps look at somewhere else. The reception building/foyer is stunning, a huge glass fronted structure with a big staircase and lots of space and light. All areas are kept nice and clean and the garden areas well tended. There are a couple of cats live around the place, but I only saw four in total and they were lovely :) We had a ground floor room in Block 6 which is the nearest block to the pools/reception/restaurant etc. We upgraded to My Favourite Club and I would 100% do that every time, lots of little perks for not that much extra - good value for money. Our room was spotless and cleaned every day. The aircon was good and the wifi was perfect in all areas of the complex. The only gripe was the food; albeit plentiful and well presented, I didn't feel that the quality of ingredients or the execution of the cooked options was as good as it could have been. Also could be very slow to replenish food and other items when they'd run out. Definitely room for improvement on that aspect. Having said that, we didn't go hungry by any means. There were snacks on offer all day in the pool bar, and a My Favourite Club lounge where there were premium drinks, snacks and a quieter seating and sunbathing area. The indoor pool was a welcome extra as the two outdoor ones were a bit chilly, aren't they always? My husband tried a few of the cocktails and said they weren't up to much! We didn't stay for any of the evening entertainment so I can't comment on that. The entertainment staff throughout the day seemed very good, tried to include everyone if you wanted to be included, and there was always something to do. I booked a massage at the spa which was very well executed and relaxing. The treatment rooms were private but the dividing walls between each room weren't full height so any noise, chatter or doors opening/shutting was as if it was in the same room! We didn't use any of the gym equipment but there seemed to be a good mix of stuff. The walk down to the beach took about 10 minutes. The path once you're outside the hotel grounds is a rough surface/dirt track - that's just Fuerteventura - it's rugged! The beach itself is absolutely beautiful, fabulous golden sand and clear water, quite shallow and not too rough. There are a couple of beach bars down there so you can get a drink and food ft you want, along with a sailing club. If you don't want to be among the naturists, turn right when you get to the beach, otherwise you may feel over dressed. Esquinzo itself is really just all-inclusive hotels and residential properties. There's a lovely new Mercadona supermarket, but no tourist shops or pavement cafes, that sort of thing. It was fine, we liked it, not busy. For a quiet relaxing holiday I would definitely recommend you give this a try.

The hotel is lovely. It is clean both in the rooms and around the site, the staff are very friendly, the food is tasty and beds are very comfortable. We have 4 children and found the steep walk to the beach a bit much with a buggy but is accessible with one if you need to take it. The entertainment is very much aimed at the French holiday makers. There is the odd occasional English sentence thrown in but this didn’t deter us from laughing at the entertainment and joining in with bingo. The pools..... they take your breath away for two reasons.... very picturesque and very cold! There is however a heated pool in the spa which children are allowed in until 4pm then it’s adults only.

We chose to explore the area and have found the following:

You can get to the lighthouse from the beach - it takes 3 hours, we did this with a 3 year old, two 7 year olds and a 9 year old. Bits are rocky but otherwise walkable. Alternatively it is less than 10 minutes in a taxi and costs under €10. Here there are plenty of shops and restaurants and the beaches are beautiful.

You can walk to the local supermarket two ways, down the cliff face and back up again OR turn left out of the hotel and follow the main road. You will find a cash point in the hotel by the supermarket.

There is a very small turtle hospital down by the marina. Most of the tanks are not accessible to people, however there is a larger tank that you can see close up. We saw two adult turtles swimming about, looking ready for release.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. If you rely on evening entertainment when you go on holiday this may not be the place for you but if you are able to entertain your children in other ways it is a lovely small hotel and a beautiful location.

We went to this hotel for our 20th Anniversary it was our first time in Fuerteventura. The hotel first impression was excellent large with very high ceilings. The check in was quick and very professional as we arrived late around 21.40 we were advised to take our cases to the room and go to the restaurant at 22.00 for some cold food and fruit which was nice touch.

The room we got was lovely it was on block 4 room 4204 had a nice balcony with a sea view, 2 beds lovely bathroom, lots of hangers and a safe. The TV has BBC 1,2 ITV,Ch4 Ch5. We also had a small fridge and excellent air con. The beds were comfy.

The pool area had plenty of sun beds the outdoor pools were on the cool side I think the hotel should heat the smaller pool. The indoor pool is heated with a jacuzzi. The animation team were french however they did ask if we wanted to join the daily activities. There is always a breeze sometimes slight, sometimes stronger it keeps you cool. From the pool area you can see the beach below which is like something from the Caribbean.

The restaurant food was of a good standard at all times, breakfast was on till 10.30 lunch till 14.30 and Dinner till 21.00 there was wine and Lager soft drinks etc self-serve. There was an area which opened after breakfast where you could have drinks non alcoholic was self-serve or for alcohol it was served to you.

Evening entertainment was in the bar off the right side of reception. If you wanted alcoholic drinks they had to be served to you and the all inclusive finished at 23.00. Sometimes you had to queue which is expected however if you wanted non alcoholic you could help yourself. The entertainment was ok however after the show they played dance music where people would dance at the front of the stage which was excellent however the hotel should say after the show has finished we will have a disco till midnight, so people don't just go after the show.

Beach and how to get there is a gate at the end of block 1, where you could walk down to the beach, there is a lovely beach bar down there and hireable sun loungers as they have nothing to do with the hotel. The sea is stunning be warned if you go left it's a nudist beach. The walk back up can be a little testing, there is little cute chipmunks sitting on the wall.

Tips
Beach towels are 20 euro deposit for 2 towels when you return them with the paper you get your 20 euros back

Drinks upgrades available to get premium brands we didn't bother as we had rum whiskey gin they were all good

Upgrades available for extra money to club rooms in block 6 which are closer to the pools and restaurants, if you have mobility issues ask for block 6 when you book.

Free WiFi was ok for what we needed however there is a premium WiFi which cost 18 euro

I stayed in this hotel for one week in July 2020. The hotel itself is lovely and clean with lot of sanitation stations, which is very reassuring. We were appalled at the lack of welcome and communication however. We were left to try and find our own rooms, and ended up asking a stranger. The pools are lovely, cold, but lovely. Lots of sunbeds needing repair around the pool and a lack of parasols, or broken ones. But you can't fault the sunshine, its glorious. It is a windy island and so you know what you're gonna get, or you should do. The rooms were clean and made up daily. Unfortunately there is no water in the room fridges, or any other soft drinks, even though its all inclusive. There is also no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, I have never had this omission on an all inclusive holiday before, indeed in any hotel. The drinks were not very nice although there is an option to pay more for premium, I was told on the last day. The food - oh dear this was the worst let down of all. Cauliflower and carrots for breakfast? Bacon only once in the entire week. Eggs like rubber. Fish and meat overcooked. Pizza lovely :) and the chips were fine too. The queues for salad were very long and I knew why on the first day - because thats the only thing other pizza thats edible! Getting a drink was a mission and another long queue. The bar advertised as a pool bar is in fact a little cafe where you have to get dressed to go into for each and every drink, oh and yes, queue again, even for a cup of water. Bottles of water were payable from the village shop. The vegetarian options were virtually non existent and unless you want to live on chips and salad you're gonna be hungry! We ended up buying our own food from the Mercadonna down the road, which I feel is dreadful as we had paid all inclusive. We have gone All inclusive many many times in various countries and I have never felt so let down and disappointed. Whilst these are very different times we are living in, if the hotel did not have the food resources to open to a proper standard then it should not have opened for business. Maybe in times gone by this hotel has reached a good enough standard, but certainly not any more, in my opinion.

We are about to leave the hotel after two weeks over Chistmas and I must admit the hotel is beautiful, the staff are lovely and the cleanliness of the whole resort is excellent. It was a little remote for me with only a supermarket in walking distance.

The food in the buffet was always well presented and the banquet on new years eve was lovely. Sadly I was disappointed with Christmas dinner, not a slice of Turkey or roast spud in sight, but then it is 85% French so wish I had known that before booking. I will be glad to get home to some home cooking with fresh vegetables and meat that is not to tough to eat. It seemed every day they served chips, hamburgers, hot dogs and spaghetti, not my choice of diet but then that's me and I guess a lot of people are happy with it. I suggest they have some dishes that do not have the bones thrown in but congratulate them on having a microwave to warm the food which is served lukewarm.

The entertainment was a waste of time for us as it was all spoken in French, again my fault for not knowing and Tui should make clients aware.

The staff were extremely helpful in changing our room from the 1000s to 6000s as mobility was a problem, only wish I could share the photos of the climb.

Lovely hotel with fab staff working hard in difficult circumstances

I don’t understand the negative reviews on here. We came here as a last minute choice instead of Greece when the air corridor with UK opened.
Best decision ever! The weather was perfectly hot and the island quiet and peaceful. Only a handful of English people here the first week, which was perfect for us, don’t like socialising with loud groups of drunk brits.
This hotel is fabulous. Exceptionally clean and everywhere regularly sanitised. Upon arrival we were greeted and bags sanitised. We felt very safe. Covid rules are enforced and there was lots of space to distance when seated.
Rooms can be cleaned and sanitised every day if you like, or not, the choice is yours.
The rooms are large with a spacious balcony. Obviously all the high touch items have been removed making them seem more basic but they are still lovely rooms. Again the rooms were spotless! We didn’t upgrade to sea view as it was just me and one child, but if I’d have been with my partner I would think it was worth the extra money for a nice view on an evening.
The staff are working so hard in what must be very difficult circumstances for them and their families right now. They remain helpful and cheerful.
The food is plentiful and lots of choice. I always found things I liked to eat. Sure it’s not piping hot but it’s a buffet and there’s a microwave if you need it hotter. The chefs cooking stations also had freshly cooked hot meats.
The snack bar is open through the day with drinks and food, you never stop eating here!
There are lots of daytime activities going on if you’re active. The evening entertainment is French but we didn’t come here for the entertainments programme, just to relax and it was perfect for us! Feel very lucky to have managed to get away for a holiday in such a strange time, thank you everyone at Alua Village.

The hotel did not meet our expectations. The cleanliness of the rooms was ok, there was regular cleaning, however when there were technical problems that were not resolved after reporting. The rooms were located outside the main building, and guests who did not purchase additional services were located at the very bottom, which made access to the main building demanding, especially for older people.
In addition, it is worth paying attention to the cleanliness of cutlery, plates and glass in the canteen, which in most cases were very poorly washed. Moreover, the food in the restaurant was monotonous, not always fresh and rarely refilled. It was also not possible to use the drinking water outside the restaurant boundaries. The drinks in the bar were of poor quality - made from pre-mixed mixes that were far from the taste of the original drinks. Poor quality alcohol was used for them (cheap whiskey, aperol, etc.). The coffee was awful!

Additionally, the service and the hotel animators mostly spoke French (which was annoying as we were in Spain and not France). All animations were held in this language, so some of the guests were excluded from the entertiment.

It was also very annoying to have evening parties for children in the bar, where the adults rested after the day and drank alcohol. The music was very loud, the kids were crazy and of course everything was in French.

The a la carte restaurant, which we could use as part of the all inclusive package, was ok, much better quality of food than in the restaurant, but we had to ask for everything several times (cutlery, water, not to mention about the alcohol ..). We left not entirely satisfied.

Just left the property after a weeks stay all inclusive (july 2020)
The hotel is lovely and clean, the staff are friendly but there aren’t enough of them.
It’s mainly a french and German resort, we understood none of the “entertainment” which to be honest was pretty basic, like going to watch your daughters dance show or a music quiz.
The All inclusive is TERRIBLE, don’t go if you’re vegetarian which I’m not but my friend is and was limited to salad and chips most days. There aren’t enough servers so you’re queuing for drinks, queuing for salad and then queuing for chips... don’t get your chips first they will be cold by the time you get your other bits. Even the bolognaise sauce had tuna in it 🤨
Deserts consisted of individually plated bite sized pieces of cake probably bought from Costco. Everything else was bland and repeated in a different format. Croissant for breakfast, fried croissants with custard for lunch.. you get the idea.
My friend left a review while we were there and we got a call from the hotel staff asking to change her 6/10 rating to at least a 7!!! Omg really. So now I can’t really trust trip advisor. She changed it to 10/10 just in case they caused any problems for our stay.
We left the hotel a few times and took a taxi into jandia for about 7 euros each way. The beach and area is much nicer there and there are a few cafes shops and ice cream places there.
The beach near ALUA is down a steep path and a 10 -15 minute walk from the hotel reception. It’s fine going down but coming back it’s a killer. Don’t take too much down with you !!
I wish we’d booked in jandia as there is nothing around the hotel unless you taxi to it.
The alcohol is like water. But you can pay extra 29 euros per day for premium alcohol. We just gave up on the alcohol and ate in jandia for our best meals out.
Our room was beautiful, we paid for the sea view and it was definitely worth it but the walk from the hotel was a workout !!
The funniest thing that happened was we booked the a la Carte (a la crap more like) and booked a veggie meal.
They brought us both a starter containing salmon. Beautifully presented With chipped ramekins with potato purée and a spoon of salsa with the smallest amount of salmon In it I have ever been served. Anyway I tasted it first and advised my veggie friend it had fish in.
We told the waitress who replied “oh pardon pardon”.. took it away and brought back the plate less the potato purée and salmon leaving a spoonful of chopped onion. Mmmm enjoy bestie!! See photo I kid you not.

Nice clean hotel, don’t pay all inclusive - wouldn’t recommend a friend to stay

Pros
We were in a My club Double Room with a sea view.
The room was very clean and well equipped with a fridge full of complimentary drinks on arrival. We had access to the private lounge which had a balcony of bean bag sun beds and lots of snacks and fruit all day long , nespresso coffee and bottles of spirits , bottles of beer and coke and other non alcoholic drinks , wine freely available. Also in the restaurant we had a separate area to sit, which was quiet and tables laid nicely etc

There were plenty of activities through the day mostly in french but Oz was around to make us feel welcome. Oz was very helpful and friendly. I also had a massage in the spa which was very good

There were 3 out door pools which very cold but i managed a dip most days. There was also an heated indoor pool. My only criticism of the pools is they did not open until after 10.30 and i would have liked to have done a few lengths before breakfast.
The food was plentiful, with a lot of fresh vegetables ,salads and fruit
Quality was variable in the cooked area but there was enough variety for all.
The glorious beach was about 5 minutes walk down a steep incline and about 10 minutes back up again. Supermarket was about 10 minutes walk.
Hiring a car was really easy from the kiosk by reception and we went out for a day to the Cheese Museum , Bentancuria and the Volcano but you need to give a couple of days notice to make sure you get the car you want

Cons
The drinks were full of Artificial Sweeteners and were horrible. They used the same juices for cocktails so they did not taste good either. For breakfast the only fresh juice other than the AS drinks was tomato juice. You could buy a fresh orange juice for 2 euro but the other choice of juices were full of AS.
The drinks from the soda machine were Coke, zero coke , orange fanta, lemon fanta and nordic tonic. Of these only the nordic and coke did not have AS, but i really liked the tonic as a refreshing drink so drank that.

Overall had a lovely time, despite being french holidays so lots of children we had a nice relaxing time and would go back. The My Club

On the other hand, It saddens us to hear that our selection of drinks did not completely satisfy your expectations and we'll pass on your observations to the respective department with the aim of improving our offer. We would like to clarify that our Swimming pool is open from 10:00 till 18:00 so that we can uphold the safety measures and have a Lifeguard present. First impression is good it's a beautiful hotel with a very grand reception area.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and impressively bilingual.

Hotel is spotless as are the very spacious air conditioned rooms with ample hanging space for your clothes although no drawers for your your delicates. A safe is provided for a daily fee. Beds where two large comfortable singles pushed together with individual covers, so although together with your partner it's like sleeping in separate beds.

The rooms are quiet and located on a gradient which could be difficult if you had mobility issues. I would advise if you have let the hotel know and they could address this by giving you a room closer to hotel. The walk to/from your room is beautifully landscaped and from your room it's a 10 minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach. Although be aware it's again a steep gradient.

Beach towels are also provided but if you want them changed there is a cleaning charge. Which is in fitting with the hotels eco friendly policy.

Pools are large and deep, with ample sun beds around this area with cover to help protect you from the midday sun. Music playing in the background from the excellent entertainment team helps you to relax.
The entertainment team worked very hard and encouraged all guests to participate in the fun activities such as morning fitness, french bowls, ping pong, beer pong, sangria lessons and wine tasting, volleyball, basketball, dance, aqua fun and fitness etc.

I would like to mention that this hotel had predominantly French guests, a few members of the entertainment team went the extra mile to make us feel included, Ozz and Victoria to name a few.

Ozz in particular is a real credit to this hotel a delightful, intelligent and fun person and I hope you realize his potential.

Food was delicious and plentiful always something for everyone at all times of the day. Restaurant was busy but spotless and seating was always available. With bottled wines, beer, juice and water freely available for self service.

Finally bar staff worked hard to keeping the holiday spirit going.

It’s available to everyone and you don’t have to pay separately to use that or the hydrotherapy tub. Thoroughly recommend both of them!
