We went there for a weekend gateaway and we were nicely surprised. It is easy to find as it close to the bridge. We took the cheapest double (GHS 80): it was spacious and the bathroom was fine. The windows only had mosquito nets on them, no glass! So the experience was closer to "glamping" then being in a hotel!...

Just north of Atimpoku centre and on the west bank of the Volta River, the lodge has good value comfortable air-con rooms in the gardens, and the restaurant tables are scattered amongst the trees by the river, so although it it quite large the hotel is a really peaceful spot. The staff were dead friendly and the Host Mother, Ms...

Set against the of a mountain and the lake this guesthouse has everything going for it at first glance , unfortunately due to mis-mangement by the owner and total disregards she has for guest it leaves much to be desired. We arrived at 12:00pm and were told our three rooms were not ready at which point we sat at the...

With only a last minute decision to book a few rooms at the place, expectation were not high and those expectations were fully met. Unfortunately arriving during a thunderstorm did not help, but when we arrived at 5:30 not all the rooms were ready , which considering the number of them and the time that guests check out that did...

Stayed for 2 nights with friends, the owner (lady) was rude and when asked for extra bed for room with lake view she demanded extra money on top of the already priced room. Not even a bed was provided and a sort of medrioque mattress was put on the flor. The Owners specially the Lady seem not to like guests...

I have visited this place a lot of times. It is a very nice and friendly place. the waterfront rooms are very nice, the garden rooms are more basic. The staff is very nice and the food is good. As the other, bigger hotels around ate quite bad, this place is still the best.

Opportunities wasted. The positives: This guest house occupies a brilliant spot on the volta. It has an excellent restaurant with local dishes worth recomending. Go for the grilled fish (see picture), and there is a lot of opportunities to explore if you have half a day or even a day there. I went for a nice relaxing evening swim (see...

Your view on Aylos Bay Resort probably depends on your perspective. For my backpacking daughters, running water, en suite toilet, and air conditioning made it terrific. For my wife, more accustomed to upscale accommodation, the failure to deliver on the advertised hot water, so-so cleanliness and general cobbled together look of the whole place made it only OK. For all...

Lake Volta is perfect for spending a few days away from hectic life in Accra. The bungalows at Aylos Bay might have seen better days but still do the trick. However, I really liked the restaurant / bar area - it's all outside, some of it under a roof, some by the river. The menu is extended, though not really...
