On Friday 1st July we called for lunch. Admittedly it was lunchtime and a couple of conferences were taking place. However the lunch was already laid out for delegates. We ordered 3 plates of food and there was only another couple before us the whole experience was dire. Uncommunicative servers. A LENGTHY delay. One drink order never came despite 3... More

I recently stopped over at this government run hotel en route through the region. The hotel was very dated and could do with a refurbishment and an up to date feel. The view from the restaurant terrace is spectacular with the wall and lake in prime view. I had the hamburger off the al la carte menu - it was... More

The rooms were spotless, but the hotel is generally a bit shabby. The views are lovely though. The breakfasts were okay, but nothing to write home about. No major complaints, other than it felt overpriced for what you get, but to be honest I didn't get a chance to compare it with other offerings in Ghana.

Always my go to when I'm in Ghana and looking for a quiet place to reflect. Certainly the best morning and evening views. The rooms are ok, this time around the A/C had some issues but overall great hotel. Friendly staff, good food and a wonderful getaway. Oh, and I love that everything in the mini-bar was complementary; no fears... More

This is a great hotel I stayed here for 3 nights. The views are wonderful, its very relaxing to have a meal out while overlooking the dam. The staff are friendly and efficient. The only negatives are the beds, which I found uncomfortable and the building layout and design is quite old fashioned.

The family came here last week for a meal, the hotel from the outside looks tired and does not get much better from the inside either, but what makes it is the breath taking views from the veranda at the back simply awesome. The food wasn't great and neither was the service, but to be honest we only came really... More

This hotel is way overpriced for what you get. I would give it a good review if its price were halved (which would suit the market). It took 2 hrs for the staff to get keys to work for our rooms, the front desk staff was very unhelpful refusing to answer generic questions about the region and town, the mattresses... More

The first day we had breakfast, the toaster was broken. In the first place, there is not to much of a choice for breakfast and they serve the same thing every morning. Second day at breakfast, we were told they run out of eggs! Dinner was torture. The menu looks very professional and beautiful. We ordered lamb, they didn't have... More

The Volta hotel, Located in North Ghana on the river Volta at the dam. Some very special views that can only be seen to be believed. The scenery in the area is simply stunning. This hotel has everything you could desire for a comfortable break.

The hotel overlooks the dam -- but is some distance from it. It is on a hill with a good view. The rooms are a bit shabby but clean and comfortable. The one odd thing was that it was not possible to turn of the entry and bathroom lights; the only option was to remove the key so that there... More
