A convert 12th century convent this hotel has tons of charm. The town is charming and quite delightful even though it is tiny. The staff is very nice and helpful, but the rooms are very basic with no elevator and no air conditioning. The church a block away rings it's bell on the hour all night. 3 Nights of little... More

Very nice and quiet place. The staff is anxious to satisfy your needs. This place seems to be full of history. Very well known judging by the the different countries the patrons came from. I recommend this place as it is very central to visit the surroundings.

Everyone seems to gravitate to Riquewihr and Ribeauville, but the quiet, charming town of Kientzheim has a couple of very nice hotels. L'Abbaye d'Alspach, whose beginnings are from the 11th Century, was a great value for the price! Modern, very comfortable rooms; and when you step outside, you're transported back to medieval times! It's tower is the centerpiece, but there... More

Sorry we only stayed one night. Tiny town with tons of charm. The hotel was easy to find, free parking in the rear of the property, next to a small garden with outside seating, which we used in the early evening to enjoy our new local wine purchase(literally across the street). The room had a small balcony over looking the... More

We stayed at this beautiful hotel situated in an old abbey in the little village of Kientzheim in Alsace. The hotel and the village are both charming and pleasantly off the tourist track through this area at Xmas, visiting Marches de Noel. The hotel was beautifully welcoming with lovely Xmas decorations, warm fires and plenty of vin chaud and pain... More

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and found the location very convenient to visit other cities in the area. There is really nothing in the town but we walked to Kaysersberg for dinner each night as it was a 20 minute walk. There is good parking and the Internet was pretty good which in our 5 weeks in... Good comfortable room, with a balcony, overlooking the car park and the vines beyond. This is our third visit and the standard has always been excellent. Breakfast is good with a good choice. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are number in Kayserberg just up the road, and the Schwendi in Town. It is a useful base... More

We have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years, first when it was run by Mr. & Mrs. Schwartz and now by their daughter. It is always a pleasure to return and see that standards have certainly not slipped one iota! If you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay in Alsace then look no further....There... This place was a life saver! We were on a biking tour during a big heat wave and needed an air conditioned hotel. This one not only had great AC but also had amazing history and completely updated rooms. Our room was so cute with a little balcony overlooking the vineyards and old rooflines. The front desk staff was also... More

We stayed 5 nights in room #2 with a balcony situated at the backside of the hotel. It is very silent, only the birds sing their songs. Breakfast is plenty, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the small garden offers a good opportunity to relax and read a book. The location is ideal... More
