We booked our stay after reading the Sawday's guide review. On arrival, following the useful map provided, we were greeted by Laurent the owner whose family has owned the Manoir since 1644. It is a lovely old building, well maintained. Our room, over the front entrance, was spacious and comfortable with a great view over parkland, an excellent shower a... More

This was a stopover en route further south. Satnav took us to the wrong (nearby) location but on arrival the owner reminded me that he had advised me to download driving instructions! The Manoir is extremely imposing with wonderful sweeping views of the countryside. The room was spacious and clean with antique furniture in keeping with its style. Even the... More

We arrived on our first night of a long trip through France having not made a reservation. Wow basically. Beautiful historic building. I slept in the same room as Louis XI. Warm welcome, wonderful food...something special that will be remembered for ever.

We booked our room here as part of our 2 day trip to Puy du Fou and what a great idea this was! The perfect antidote to the noise and energy of the park we loved the room and atmosphere of the Manoir, fantastic breakfast thanks and we will be back!

We arrived on bicycles and were warmly welcomed by our hosts into their home, which is a large manor house, in the middle of rolling countryside. They offer an aperitif, followed by a delightful four course table d'hote, (which must be pre-booked) including wine, at a modest cost of 33€). Everything is home-cooked, and it must be pointed out that... More

We were looking for some accommodation close to Puy Du Fou. What a find ! Superb guest house that is steeped in history. Laurent & Aurelia made us feel really welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We had pre-booked dinner for our first evening. A fantastic four courses of real home cooked food. Local ingredients and many from the... More

Stayed here in autumn & can't wait to go back. A lovely old Manoir with extremely friendly hosts. Had dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Laurent joined us for pre dinner drink and was very informative of the local area. Room was spacious, comfortable with antique furniture. Best shower of any I have come across. Breakfast was splendid. fresh juice, croissants,... More

It is not easy to find because neither the signposts nor the house map provided are very accurate ! But worth persisting. The Manoir is impressive as is the outlook. Rooms are clean and comfortable and our room had one of the best showers i have met in France ! The highlight for us ( three ) was the dinner.... More

Impressive building from the 14 hundreds, inside and out. Nice little pool. Our hosts were very welcoming also. Stayed just on night, but ideal for exploring the area around Chantonnay. WiFi is a bit hit and miss, mainly due to the 6ft thick walls, but its a small inconvenience. Would recommend.

Located 10 minutes drive from Chantonnay is this beautiful manor. As mentioned by everyone Laurent and Aurelia are the best of hosts. Breakfast is a feast set for kings, sadly we didn't get the chance for 4 course dinner as our stay was primarily for a wedding and we were addicted to French cheese and charcuterie. The pool is amazing,... More
