A lovely old chateau in extensive grounds. A very warm welcome from Madame de Lussac, the owner, Steep climb to the top floor with baggage as there is no lift but the room and bed were fine. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal OK but not outstanding. The fabric of the building needs an upgrade but this would risk losing its "shabby-chic" charm.... More

We had sent my parents to the Château de l'Aubrière for a couple of days, in celebration of my father's 80th birthday. The owner's graceful attentions, testament to her dedication to her patrons' comfort and pleasure, were matched by the beauty of the place - a splendid traditional castle set in a vast, lush domain. My father's smile said it... More

Truly charming Chateau, not too big, not too small, just perfect. My children were utterly enchanted and we were all welcomed like family. A couple had travelled from Japan to try the host's famous cooking. Affordable and very special.

The proprietor Violaine was lovely to us. She really wanted to make us happy and succeeded. We had a very late arrival on our first night and after we emailed her she made it easy to get into our room. The Chateau is in great shape, especially considering its age, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We recommend... More

Loved it...Violaine, the owner, is charming, kind and helpful. The rooms are lovely...quirky, but typical of an old château.Breakfast delicious!we didn't sample dinner, as it was 5 courses, and too much for us.Maybe we could've asked for fewer courses?

From the entry up the tree lined drive, to being welcomed by the peacock and then our gorgeous host, nothing seemed too much trouble and everything was just as we hoped and better. We only stayed one night but still were offered a choice of rooms and ours was beautiful- the bed just right (huge) and the pillows soft and... More

A charming and quiet chateau near Tours. The host/owner was friendly and warm. We had breakfast and dinner and both were great. We also enjoyed the grounds and the peacock. A highlight of our trip in France

We found this hotel online, and after reading some reviews we decided to book it for our trip to explore the Loire Valley. The hotel is located on a beautiful hill outside Tours, and is a perfect spot from which to explore the Chateaux of the Loire, being right in the centre, but in a quiet small town. The hotel's...
