What a treat to stay in this classic French hotel. So peaceful, charming rooms and French cooking at its very best. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety on offer. And good value, 136 Euros B&B at the end of June. Definitely recommended.

The perfect place to stay and encounter the Gregorian worship of the monks of Solesmes Abbey, which is literally just over the road from the Grand Hotel. We were late arriving, and the hotel emailed us directions to gain access to the main door, since their reception closed at 10 pm. Very thoughtful - we would otherwise have been locked...

Back again - still excellent all round . High class food and the staff are particularly well trained. The rhubarb desert was something to die for, Very quiet and of course a secure car park at rear with gates.

Solesmes is a beautiful French village, and the Gramd Hotel is a fabulous place to stay. Family owned (since 1960), the hosts and their team are gracious and kind. Lovely spacious rooms, with beautiful views, wake up to the sounds of birdsong and the Abbey bells. Excellent dining, generous breakfast, beautiful fresh, and perhs the most delicious croissants I have...

Love little hotel in a quiet village. Friendly helpful staff who are English speaking. We had our evening meal at the hotel and although the menu was limited it was fine cuisine and nice service in a very relaxed atmosphere

Nice hotel with free parking in pretty village setting. Opposite the monastery, despite other reviews, we had no disturbance from the bells. Marvellous staff, particularly the lovely woman who served us most evenings at dinner (tall, dark short dark hair) who was friendly, professional and very helpful re local areas of interest. The room was bijou at best, but clean,...

We stumbled across this hotel on our way to cherbourg to catch a ferry. We had booked into a hotel in Tours but didn't like the city so kept driving North. The hotel is lovely, family run with a nice atmosphere and very comfortable. The village is incredible and if you don't mind the bells ringing during the night you...

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for one night at the end of a trip down the Loire. The hotel is nice looking in the middle of the pretty village of Solesmes and opposite the Monastery (beware the bells can be a little intrusive at night). The hotel appears to be recently refurbished and the rooms are large and comfortable....

The hotel is set opposite the monastery and is simply a beautiful place to be. The staff were charming and professional, really intent on making the meal enjoyable and relaxed. We had a lovely table in a bay window overlooking a beautiful garden. The standard of the food and service was excellent. We had a good choice at a reasonable...
