We absolutely loved our stay at La Chouette. Suzanne was very welcoming to our little family. She had a baby bed set up in our room when we arrived and helped us the next morning with planning our daily excursions. The breakfasts were delicious and had yummy home made goodies. You even get to leave with some recipes! We will... More

We stayed for one night on our way back to Calais. The hotel is lovely, small and like staying at a friend's immaculately kept house. There is no air conditioning but although it was a really hot day when we arrived rooms were cool, with shutters having been closed all day. We were greeted by Suzanne after a long journey... More

La Chouette was a real gem. Everything was so well-thought out, with all sorts of little touches that made such a lovely experience. We arrived early, but Sylvie welcomed us in with no hesitation. We found a beautiful, very comfortable room which was very well-appointed. Breakfast was incredible--served buffet-style, with lots of home-made dishes. A real treat to stay here--don't... More

A perfect place for friends wining and dining in Burgundy. The friendliness and hospitality added to our relaxing moments by the fireplace. The breakfast was delicious: specially designed for the staying guests. I will surely return as soon as possible and can highly recommend this to everyone!

My wifw and I stayed here for one night, (oh how we wished it was for more), on the way to Spain. It was a chance booking but proved to be a perfect choice. Warm welcome from Suzanne on arrival. Not only was she delightfully informative about the area, but provided fresh coffee and tea with homemade biscuits and fruit,... More

We stayed at La Chouette principally because we wanted to dine at establishments in the village and not have to drive after drinking. Our room had everything we could hope for... good quality beds and linen, robes, fridge, wine and high ball glasses, comfortable chairs and access to the outside as well as the kitchen. We found the breakfast to... More

As others have indicated, La Chouette is more of a B&B than a small hotel in many ways, (particularly its unmanned reception - you ring across to the owner's home on arrival - and DIY use of the kitchen). It worked well for us for a brief stopover, with a comfortable room and a good breakfast. Suzanne seemed very businesslike... More

Staying at La Chouette for one night has left us slightly puzzled by the most recent positive reviews. First impression of the Hotel: a not particularly noteworthy private house in the village of Puligny Montrachet, with a small garden and somewhat cramped parking space. I wish I could say the owner Suzanne greeted us warmly but instead we felt rather... More

Thank-you for your comments about your stay at La Chouette during one of the hottest days since 2003. It was indeed an unusually hot week and we tried our best to keep the rooms as cool as possible by closing the windows and shutters during the day , opening them at night to let the cooler air in. Your room... More

Location is acceptable if you are interested in visiting the area. You must use the car to move to and from. Parking space available. Small hotel, clean and stylish. Rooms are spacious and well equipped ( TV, wifi, mini fridge, toiletries, slippers, nice towels and bathrobes, hairdryer etc) - with the exception of air conditioning which is rarely useful. Bed... Excellent accomodations, breakfast and advice. We stayed 2 nights and were able to walk into the surrounding vineyards and into town for dinner. It is also an easy drive to nearby towns of Pommard, Mersault and Beaune. The rooms were modern and comfortable and included a balcony, a large bath and a stocked mini bar. Breakfast included many home made... More
